I've figured out that, using the 2-track/USB input with an RCA cable coming from the output of the looper pedal station, I can hear the looper playback and record on top of it without creating looper feedback.. but when I record from my desk to Protools on my laptop, as you said, I can only hear what I'm playing, not the looper playback. I have a feeling, instead of running from the output of the looper pedal station to the 2 track/USB input, I have to run it into the Stereo aux returns L and R (to the left of the 2 track input)... the thing is, I think this will create the looper feedback issue again... Is there anyway at all to have the 2 track picked up on my recording software at all!? Or is there any arrangement I can have with this board where the looper playback can be recorded to my laptop, as well as heard, without creating the looper feedback. Thanks!
Very good tutorial 👌 may I know if the other connection that you made is it possible to connect to a phones slot with my karaoke machine as my source of music ?karaoke machine comes with built in mic and speaker source already. Thank you very much. I've been trying for 2 hours.. I dont hear any sound. I had temporarily output the mixer from the track out. No record, no sound. I would be crazy. A great video, like always.... So if i want to connect a mixer with the computer and an amplifier, i can do over "2-tracks/usb" of the mixer, same like with main out and line in of the mixer too, depending what i need a for? Right? In a short, is it safe to connect the computer and an amplifier with all inputs and outputs of the mixer?
you can do it through the playback settings on your software. Set it to USB interface. Or through your computer's headphone jack connected to one of the channels on the mixer.
I want to connect my zoom recorder and record a comedy show with stage mic and audience mics connected to the mixer channels. I can’t figure out which outputs to use for the zoom and I’m still confused after watching 😅 I ordered an rca cable but the hook ups don’t seem to fit in the red and while hookups and are lose
your DJ mixer's stereo output can go into any one of those channels on this Xenyx mixer. or did you already get it setup? and also, was that your actual question? or did you mean how could you add your DJ mixer via USB? because this mixer in the video has 1 USB input. if it were setup that way, it would have to output audio via stereo out for recording.
Thanks a lot for sharing this. Just to be sure to understand, I just bought an analog reel to reel tape recorder, I intend to record my music from the computer to the tape recorder. If I route the 2-track rca output to the input of the tape machine I should have the sound from the computer right? Because it seems that no sound is coming out, I currently use the control room out put to get in the tape machine. Thanks in advance for your help.
Hi bro, hopefully you'll get round to answering this? How would you recommend connecting a record player to this mixer? I've already connected my dj controller to a channel but my controller is only an entry level reloop touch and has no extra inputs (hence bypassing through the mixer before I connect to my powered speakers).. I've got some nice retro vinyl that I'd like to one drop during my set. Cheers Paul 😕
I am not sure I understand your connections. Do you want to connect the turntable directly to the mixer? In that case you need one of these amzn.to/3PYCAZ8
If we can control the input audio from its source (like connecting a PC to 2 track - or even a phone like you did), is it just the lack of control on the board itself that makes it so that you wouldn't use it in your mix? Based on your explanation it sounds like we could send the 2 track into the main mix (using the specified button) alongside everything else and have it all work and output together no?
@@TonyHob that doesn't make sense to me, doesn't everything in the main mix get recorded? How would the recorder know what sounds came from the 2-track versus what sounds came from the other inputs? Isn't that what mixing means, that the signals are mixed together?
Hi,I bought the same mixed new and I have noticed the green indicator near to tap is blinking, but I can't see it in your video.Could you please help me
if i understand correctly i can have the sound of my macbook pro going into the mix using a 1/4 stereo to 3.5mm cable and record the music playing from the macbook into the mix, correct? so if i were live streaming and wanted to have audio from my laptop in the stream i would set my computer output to headphones then set my software's inputs to usb-codec (behringer 1204usb)
06:20 thank you! your video was very helpful! I have a question. If the recording equipment on line 5 is not a mobile phone, but a PC connected to a mixer, how can music be recorded together? Can I record without connecting a cable? I don't have the equipment in my hand yet, so I want to test it, but I can't.
Hi Tony, I am able to connect my mic, but when trying to do karaoke singing on zoom, I connected my phone to 2 track USB with red and white pin and the other end connected to headphone slot on the phone. But I am unable to hear the karaoke music via zoom. Only my voice is heard through the condenser microphone. How do I slow it? Tips for karaoke music input for zoom please. Thank you for the great video.
I have an electric guitar and I want to send it on pc to a pedal program, the problem is that when I do it I only can hear the signal from the usb with headphones and it gets mixed with the original mix (main mix). If I record something on the program, the original sound doesnt get recorded, how do I only listen to the usb signal? If I press the usb button nothins is sent and when I unpress it is working but I cant hear it. Help please
How do I connect an equalizer to this mixer and have the output equalized to the Main Out? Could I connect the Main Out to the equalizer and at the same time connect the equalizer to the two Track-In?
Can you run the cable from the HEADPHONE OUT of your computer into channels 5/6, set your Audacity output to computer speakers, then play a track in Audacity and overdub it?
Hi, is it possible to send audio from the laptop to the mixer and listen it with the audios using only the usb connection ? I'm trying to listen the playback and my guitar but no signal comes up on audacity..
Hello Tony. Thanks for this great video. I bought the same mixer. Do 2-track/USB RCA outputs play USB?? I mean if I choose the mixer as the default playback device and play a song from youtube, can I get the song from this output? I tried but nothing came.
It does not. You can only hear it through the regular output or the headphones. For the same reason anything going into the RCA will not record either.
@@TonyHob Thank you. Well I should ask this question to Behringer... why then it is written there "2-track/usb" instead of "2-track" only... like other version QX1204? So far as I understood by testing, whatever you put into channels 1,2,3,4, 5/6, 7/8 will be sent to 2-track/usb output while the 2-track/usb red button is depressed.
Thank you for this video. What a strange choice on Behringer's part to assume you wouldn't ever want to input something to Main via USB or RCA and simultaneously send it and everything else back out via USB or to your recorder via RCA. As soon as I press "2-TR/USB to Main", those go to the main mix out of XLR, but my USB main mix is silent which seems... useless. Do you know if the Yamaha MG-XU series mixers suffer from this limitation? They have RCA inputs on Line 9/10 and USB on 11/12, each with their own discrete volume controls, so it seems like they view the role of RCA and USB input differently.
This was intended to PC apps like "Zoom" or "Skype" when someone is talking via these applications. You do not want an eternal loop when some remote people are talking on Zoom / Skype / Teams, and you stream their voice through your table to the meeting room
i am trying to record but the usb cable connected to my behringer mixer does not show up on my laptop. can you help me with this issue please. i have downloaded the audition programme for recording and microphone connected to the mixer works fine but the mixer is not picking up the sound (i believe is the usb from the mixer to the laptop as it does not show on my desktop thank u
Thanks, so when my active sound boxes are connected via XLR at the back, I am not able to turn off the music while recording at the same room to hear it only on my headphones, is that true??
Hello Tony - I hope you can help, I'm so confused. My problem is that all the surrounded 7.1 speakers are connected to AVR255/Receiver to play the songs vs. your speakers are directly connected to the mixer, then you can connect a phone, CD, video to Input #5. If you don't mind, I can send you the rear picture of my Harman/Kardon AVR255. Thanks!
Hi Tony, I have a Harbinger L1402fx-usb mixer connected to my PC, and want to record (by Cubase 11) both vocal from this mixer in a track and the youtube Karaoke music from the same PC in another track. How do I setup to get both tracks individually ? When I plug the mixer usb cable in PC, it shows "USB Audio Codec" instead of "Samsung UC Audio" which written in manual. and in Cubase, I browse to Studio setup, in the Audio System, it shows only 1 driver:" Generic Low Latency ASIO Driver". I hope you or somebody can help me out. Thanks
Hi. Just about to buy one of these - I want to leave two inputs from two separate amps [ x1 bass amp + x1 guitar amp ] connected to channels 1 and 2 by 1/4 inch jacks so that I can plug into the bass amp and guitar amp directly, as I wish, and record via usb output from the Behringer in LOGIC or GARAGEBAND on my Mac. Any reason this wouldn't work? Thanks.
This is a link to the manual mediadl.musictribe.com/media/sys_master/h93/h01/8849794236446.pdf on pages 5-6 it shows different ways to connect instruments to the mixer. I hope it helps
I'm using the Xenyx 802 model and I'm not able to hear the microphone over the headphones, while the 2-track to control room is switched on. I'm using the 2-track RCA input to bring the audio into the mixer. I don't want it to be in the main mix. However, I need it to be heard in the headphones. The problem is that I cannot hear the 2-track AND the microphone at the same time. Is this normal? Is there a workaround?
@@TonyHob, thanks. I am able to hear the microphone in the headphones, just not when 2-track to control button is pushed in. I cannot hear the 2-track input and the microphone at the same time.
Exactly, watch the video it explains that. The microphone doesn’t go through the 2 track so you will not hear it in the headphone. Only d we hat comes in through the 2track in will be heard
@@TonyHob How to achieve that only the microphone goes to the main mix, while both the 2-track and the microphone can be heard in headphones? I want to sing over a song, but output/record just the microphone.
Hi Tony, I have a question about the X1204USB. If I use the RCA aux in, I don"t get that sound in the headphone. I tried any combination of buttons next to the phone volume knob. Do you know if I shoud hear the aux in or not? Maby still a wrong setting or so?
You should be able to hear it through the phones by pressing the red USB/ 2track button in and the others should be out as shown at 8:06. If that's not working there might be something wrong with the mixer
@@TonyHob thanks for the confirmation. I don't hear anything. Bought the mixer 6y ago to use only once and then it got stored. Now (after 6 years) took it back to ise again and found the issue. I'll check with some stores for price to service the mixer.
This Behringer is really well built and I would say it is professional quality. There are better, more expensive options out there but for a budget professional grade mixer Behringer is hard to beat.
It's difficult to do that and make it sound decent if you're working with just two tracks of audio--BUT if you get a midi version of the song you can transpose it to any key in like 5 seconds
I want to be able to record output of my computer sound via usb as well as mixer. So far I have not found how to do this. I can record either the computer sound or the mixer sound but not both. Now, I can monitor the computer sound while recording the mixer but cannot record all 3 sources. Any ideas?
Hi Tony, i got Behringer QX1002USB, what you think is the problem why all my audio output from mixer to android phone are distorted, even if i'm setting it to the minimum (from gain to mic level). thanks
Hello. Sorry my english. For example, if one channel is with his fader on max playing music, can you listen previously other music in another channel befor mixing?
It does a similar thing by isolating that channel so you can listen to it and adjust the volume separately by looking at the gain lights of just that channel, also known as clip. So yes
Hello Tony, could you please explain how one can connect an external stereo compressor to the mixer for master buss processing or on an individual tracks during mixing. Thanks
the x1204 has built in compression but if you want to add an external, this video does a good job explaining it: ruclips.net/video/s5Z-x6Kj3c4/видео.html
I cant get any signal at all. I have the Behringer 1204Usb. My keyboard has main out(left mono/right mono) and AUx out (left mono/right mono). I'm using Audacity. My Audacity settings are at USB Audio CODEC. When I play my keyboard, there is no signal from the mixer to the laptop. I used main out and aux out on my keyboard. There is no signa to the Behringer or the laptop. What is wrong with my connection with neither are getting a signal? Thanks.
It could be so many hings but I would start by making sure the cables are good. This week I had two problems with two different setups and both turned out to be the cables.
@@TonyHob thanks man. However, it's not the cable. I tried three different 1/4 inches. Still.not signal lfrom.the mixer. So, I ran the three 1/4 inches direct to my amp, and.no problems. So, i tried each channel with each chord. Still, no signals at all. I'm so confused
Can i use my qx1222 as an audio interface In place of my M Audio M Track 2? In short use it with my DAW etc? If so how do I connect it? It’s USB and my PC recognizes it but no sound comes through the mixer.. thanks
You can definitely use it as an interface. Your problem is probably in your software settings. Make sure your DAW is set to USB codec in and out. You might also need to check that the operating system id set to play out through the USB. My setup here: My Home Setup for Playing and Recording Karaoke using the Behringer Xenyx X1204USB Mixer ruclips.net/video/WGcoIIyZVWQ/видео.html
@@TonyHob ok thanks, i think you are right. I don’t remember seeing in my softwares Codec.. my PC definitely recognizes the connection tho.. which channels do i connect my monitors too once I figure out the DAW recognizing it?
Hi again Tony, i have another question, is there a possibility, i can hear the call from my phone or the backing track from my karaoke app from my phone like Wesing or StarMaker app, and i can sing while connected to this mixer? Can you teach me how, before i buy this...Thanks
its like my backing track will be coming from my phone app, and at the same time i can use this mixer for mic and fx and will be send to the phone, the i can hear both from my headphone? What cord, jack, will i buy and can you help me with the setup please.
I wanna use an interface and subsequent computer to capture and playback whats going thru my mixer, since I can do the remaining mixing in the box. So, would it be a good idea to connect the 2-track in/out of the mixer into a 2ch. in/out of an interface?
@@TonyHob I’m just nervous there will be feedback or something.. I’ve never tried it and I’m not even sure if it’ll work.. but I guess it wont loop and feedback? As u can tell, I’m not entirely sure how it works
congratulations for the video. I own your own mixer and since I'm Italian and I can't understand all your speech in English, I kindly ask you one thing. I don' t understand what connections do i have to make to register with headphones while singing on a music base imported from pc or phone? I currently have the il.mixer connected to the pc via usb cable, so in this way I should take advantage of the sound card inside the mixer, right? but what other connections do I have to make and what settings? thanks
Connect your headphones to the "phones" jack and press down the "main mix" square button beside the white "phones/ctrl rm" volume knob. You should be able to hear through the headphone then and control the headphone volume through the white knob. Let me know if it worked. By the way, I am trying to learn Italian listening to Laura Paussini and Eros Ramazzoti. I speak Spanish so it I am getting better.

The RCA does not record well. Just use the USB to the computer and choose that input and output on Audacity. You do not need additional cables and do not use the RCA. It should work just like in the video

Greetings, if someone can help me: So I am using Macbook Pro Early 2015, with OS Cataline 10.15.7 - latest at the moment, and I am having trouble getting signal that can be seen inside System preferences -> Sound -> Input, as seen in the video, even when I select that USB port from my XENYX X1204USB. I know that there is signal coming through my XENYX X1204USB mixer, because condenser mic that is connected can be heard through speakers also connected to the mixer, along with fader showing the signal input level, but there is no signal coming to Mac through mixer's USB port. The port is working fine, because I can play music from Mac through mixer, to speakers, just fine. Please help. :) I am trying to get the signal inside Ableton, but there is no signal even coming to Mac that can be seen or heard.
@@TonyHob isn't it possible to connect the RCA to speakers and amplifier out too? Now it's plugged in the RCA out, like I said the speakers won't work but if I connect a mic to the mixer, I can hear it on speakers.
You might want to watch this video again. Like I say in the video, the RCA out is not designed to be an out for the mix but meant for a 2 track recorder. You need to use the main or monitor outs to the speakers
I was thinking about picking one of these x1204usb and run through windows 10 64bit. The x1204usb is 24bit. Have you heard of problems running windows 10 having driver issues with the behringer?

Dang , the problem I’m having is I have the 2 tr/usb RCA output going to my headphone amp.
But it stopped working and I don’t know what I pressed
If I needed to add a DJ mixer to this, how would I go about doing that?
your DJ mixer's stereo output can go into any one of those channels on this Xenyx mixer. or did you already get it setup? and also, was that your actual question? or did you mean how could you add your DJ mixer via USB? because this mixer in the video has 1 USB input. if it were setup that way, it would have to output audio via stereo out for recording.
The RCA should be sending sound from the mixer to your recorder. Make sure you press the 2 track select button.
You can send it to the main mix, you just can’t record it
@@TonyHob that doesn't make sense to me, doesn't everything in the main mix get recorded? How would the recorder know what sounds came from the 2-track versus what sounds came from the other inputs? Isn't that what mixing means, that the signals are mixed together?
Merci 👍
Thank you so much
So I need 3,5''-->6,3'' cable to record from a phone to computer through USB.
Yes, like this amzn.to/3d5IDux
Hi,I bought the same mixed new and I have noticed the green indicator near to tap is blinking, but I can't see it in your video.Could you please help me
question...when you press button to send aux to main, does it cut out any sound from the mixer board?
if i understand correctly i can have the sound of my macbook pro going into the mix using a 1/4 stereo to 3.5mm cable and record the music playing from the macbook into the mix, correct? so if i were live streaming and wanted to have audio from my laptop in the stream i would set my computer output to headphones then set my software's inputs to usb-codec (behringer 1204usb)
Sounds right
06:20 thank you! your video was very helpful! I have a question. If the recording equipment on line 5 is not a mobile phone, but a PC connected to a mixer, how can music be recorded together? Can I record without connecting a cable? I don't have the equipment in my hand yet, so I want to test it, but I can't.
You can connect the computer’s headphone jack to channel 5 as your music source and connect the same computer to the mixer’s USB to record the mix
RCA is the name
Not sure what your point is 0:41
Where/how to connect 2 synths and a drum machine, only 2 stereo channels?
Hi Tony, I am able to connect my mic, but when trying to do karaoke singing on zoom, I connected my phone to 2 track USB with red and white pin and the other end connected to headphone slot on the phone. But I am unable to hear the karaoke music via zoom. Only my voice is heard through the condenser microphone. How do I slow it? Tips for karaoke music input for zoom please. Warch the video again. You should NOT use the USB/2track for karaoke. Connect your phone to a channel using 3.5mm to 1/4 TR cables

Help please
So you need the Rac cord to record to your computer

I think it’s because you choose usb or RCA for recording. Definitely confusing.
I haven’t tried the Yamaha. Maybe they will send me a mixer to try out someday 😁
Thanks, so when my active sound boxes are connected via XLR at the back, I am not able to turn off the music while recording at the same room to hear it only on my headphones, is that true??
you can also use Alt 3/4 output through the control room volume
@@TonyHob I will try, thanks so much
What tipe of usb cable should I use, because the computer is not recognize the input.?
It’s just a basic USB cable
Hello Tony - I hope you can help, I'm so confused. My problem is that all the surrounded 7.1 speakers are connected to AVR255/Receiver to play the songs vs. your speakers are directly connected to the mixer, then you can connect a phone, CD, video to Input #5.
Thanks.
This is a link to the manual

I'm using the Xenyx 802 model and I'm not able to hear the microphone over the headphones, while the 2-track to control room is switched on. I'm using the 2-track RCA input to bring the audio into the mixer. I don't want it to be in the main mix. However, I need it to be heard in the headphones. The problem is that I cannot hear the 2-track AND the microphone at the same time. Is this normal? Is there a workaround?
In other words - microphone is being cut off for the control room/headphones, when the 2-track to control room is pressed/switched on.
You can not listen to the mix through the 2 track headphone. Only what is connected to the 2 track. In your case, only the music.
I have a question about the output on the 2 track/usb. How do i adjust the volume on the output? Is this not possible? Thanks for your help!
You can not control the out individually. You can control it through the recorder itself (analog or software). What are you connecting the out to?
What about the quality of this console for a home studio or whatever ? thanks for the video
This Behringer is really well built and I would say it is professional quality. There are better, more expensive options out there but for a budget professional grade mixer Behringer is hard to beat.
@@TonyHob Thanks , it sounds good..
I plug mi phone to the rca input. How can I do to send that signal to the rca output?
You can’t, that’s exactly what the entire video explains
@@TonyHob jajaja sorry. I'm an idiot. Thanks for the answer!!!
Hello, can you connect a technics sh-ge70 equalizer to this mixer? Thanks and great video 👌
You would connect the equalizer to the receiver, not the mixer
Thank you. That’s very helpful. Any idea how I could change the key/pitch of a karaoke track?
It's difficult to do that and make it sound decent if you're working with just two tracks of audio--BUT if you get a midi version of the song you can transpose it to any key in like 5 seconds
I want to be able to record output of my computer sound via usb as well as mixer. So far I have not found how to do this. I can record either the computer sound or the mixer sound but not both. Now, I can monitor the computer sound while recording the mixer but cannot record all 3 sources. Any ideas?
as far as I know it is not possible to use the same computer as both recorder and that sound source. You need an external sound source.
exelente
Hi Tony, i got Behringer QX1002USB, what you think is the problem why all my audio output from mixer to android phone are distorted, even if i'm setting it to the minimum (from gain to mic level).
thanks
It could be many things, from compatibility to a defective mixer
What could be the reason that my phone connected via line in 5 does not send via USB into my DAW?
Could be the actual adapter cable. Try connecting the phone to a receiver’s or powered speaker’s aux port to see if it works.
@@TonyHob It does play the music via my headphones, but it's not in my DAW, only the drum mics, but not the song I'm playing to.
Hello.
Sorry my english.
For example,
if one channel is with his fader on max playing music,
can you listen previously other music in another channel befor mixing?
yes, but the music would need to be connected to the input on the 2-track RCA, then you can listen to it on the headphones with the 2-track selected.
Finally i find the word,
is it possible to cue?
Whats the SOLO botton?
It does a similar thing by isolating that channel so you can listen to it and adjust the volume separately by looking at the gain lights of just that channel, also known as clip. So yes
Hello Tony, could you please explain how one can connect an external stereo compressor to the mixer for master buss processing or on an individual tracks during mixing. Thanks
the x1204 has built in compression but if you want to add an external, this video does a good job explaining it: ruclips.net/video/s5Z-x6Kj3c4/видео.html
@@TonyHob Many thanks for responding, unfortunately the x1204 has no INSERT. i think i may have to sell mine and get a mixer with an insert

Too much volume or gain. Keep an eye on that red clip light. If it goes on you are at distortion level
I wanna use an interface and subsequent computer to capture and playback whats going thru my mixer, since I can do the remaining mixing in the box. So, would it be a good idea to connect the 2-track in/out of the mixer into a 2ch. in/out of an interface?
