Best video about the Behringer 1204FX so far. He doesn't only talk but demonstrates all the functions and features in a very clear and understandible way! Excellent job!
I'm a projectionist at a movie theater that hosts a lot of private events, presentations, etc., that require multiple mics set up through the cinema speakers for our clients. I wanted to tell you this video has been an absolute godsend. I had no idea how to use the mixer properly until I looked up tutorials and followed yours to the T; I've finally been able to cut out/minimize all the pesky feedback issues that have been plaguing me! Thanks! Much appreciated.
This is by far the best instructional video I've found on using a Behringer mixer. My model is a slightly different, but the information that you presented still covers almost everything I wanted to know. You did a fabulous job! Thank you so much!
Excellent tutorial on getting around the board and understanding how each of the features work independently and with each other. This was a huge help to me in learning how to use this mixer for home and live recording.
Thank you so much for really detailed but concise presentation. I hope Behringer will use your presentation as an official demonstration of the unit. I was using this for years, but today, I understood every bit of the operation. Grate, keep it up your good work. Eng. Chandana Dalugoda
im totally new to mixers. this is the best explanational video i've watched so far. i've been watching videos for few months now ;). HUGE thank you for your time and efford!!!
This video is a perfect example that entices anyone to purchase this because your breakdown on how to use this in under 15 min was SPOT ON. This was exactly what I needed to upgrade from the Q802. You have just "upsaled" for this company. Hope you are getting some ad dollars from them. I just need to figure out how to mix multiple record tracks from a pc music mixer. Thank you.
I definitely agree this is by far the best video on how to actually use the x1204 I have seen yet. I wasted a lot of time figuring it out little by little. Had I found your video initially I would have gotten up to speed exponentially quicker!!!! Hope all find this video first in their quest to understand how to use this mixer.
I started watching this video to learn where the volume controls were for the XLR input jacks coming from a cd player. I found my answer and so much more. I have had this unit for awhile but have never really sat down to understand all the controls. I thank you so much for the video !!!!
Perfect tutorial. i wish i had found this video first. Other videos show the buttons and knobs but don't show what they do and how to use them. this was perfect. thank you
Great thanks. Best instructions I have ever heard for anything here on youtube! Wish more people would make it like this, thanks again, much appreciated.
I agree with everyone. this is a amazing tutorial. I have never been told how to use the dials and buttons, I just wing it on my old 802, I have one of these in my basket on amazon. SOLD
Wow, one of the best Gear rundowns I've seen! Good job explaining all of the functions "noob-friendly" You couldn't get a better explanation anywhere else!
Hi, All mixers are pretty much build on these basic principles, with the bigger unit there are more channels, more AUXes etc. 1 unique thing that is different on bigger mixing desk is when they have parametric EQs, these take some people a while to get the hang of.
Thank you so much for your excellent video. Your instructions are clear and the demonstration for every knob and button is just awesome Keep on with your videos! Cheers!!
hi there i wonder if you could help me .. should i be able to hear the effects through the headphones when using mic 1 channel 1 and the controlls both at 12 any help gratefully accepted as i think my unit is faulty and need to return it as its new ..thanks
Which one is better for karaoke recording at home and occassional karaoke parties? QX1222USB or QX1204? I don't need too many inputs, but I'd like to be able to record the performances too, PREFERABLY, with live voices affected by EFX processor, but the final mix signal sent to the computer without effects.
Hi, the 1 knob compressor is a strange beast (to anyone used to using a real compressor). I would highly recommend watching this guy's channel, ruclips.net/user/glbpro very good at explaining things in detail. He has a tutorial on how the 1 knob compressor work here: ruclips.net/video/YpOZcaT3txM/видео.html
Great demo, thanks. I don't seem to have reverb in the monitors. Can you please explain how I can achieve that. I saw a video somewhere with those instructions but now can't seem to find it. If I recall correctly it instructed to use Aux Send 1 out to the monitors (which are daisy chained) and to connect a patch lead from Aux Send 2 to L Aux Return 1 ... is that correct. ...or is there a simpler solution? Cheers.
Hey guys I need some help. I use the Xenyx X1204usbfx for live djing and Karaoke. Here is my issue. I use the Phones/Control room output for my booth monitor. For some reason if I use an effect on any channel, (mainly mic delay fx for singers) I cant here the effect through my Phones/Control Room Monitor output. The Main outputs work fine. Effects and all. I can hear everything except the effects. I could use the tape output but theres no control over the volume. Ive tried everything. Mono/Stereo plugs, Main mix button pressed others off and visa versa. Any help would be great. Thanks
is this a mono jack or stereo jack to use for a sub mixture and should another mixture also be usb mixture or normal mixture without audio interface can also be used?
Hi, thanks for your amazing tutorial !... I want to know if I can connect two main active speakers and two active monitors to one dbx 215s equalizer and how I do it? ..I'm going to use the xlr returns of the snake to connect the speakers and the monitors to the mixer (Mackie profx 16 Channels) what I need and where I put all the cables? and if I still use the aux knobs for the monitors?
Hi, Happy to help out, send me what you are trying to achieve to my email address meandeantv3@gmail.com just trying to figure out what you want to do with the EQ, do you want to apply it to front of house as well as monitors at the same time? or just to vocals or something like that and secondary what are you trying to achieve with the EQ, ie does everything sound bad or something? or are you trying to EQ the room?
If I have 2 channels in stereo from say a keyboard rig on stage and there is only 1 available channel to front of house PA what is the best way to combine the stereo signal on the mixer to a single summed mono signal to go out of the mixer to the house PA?
At the risk of offending every keyboard player I suggest the following. Most keyboards will give you a mono mix down through the left output (make sure there is no plug in the right jack as it may not mix down to the left). Now to the offense, there is a fair bit of talk about phase issues when mixing down stereo samples, quite frankly keyboards in the music I have mixed were not the dominant instrument & as such I couldn't hear any issues nor the musicians/listeners. Unless you have Elton John (or similar) hammering on you keys or it's the only instrument then it's probably not going to be an issue.....There's an article here that might be interesting: www.keyboardmag.com/how-to/1255/solving-stereo-stage-piano-problems/28996
how can i use the main outputs going to eq and pa amp/speakers. the control room outs to my monitors AND the 3/4 outputs to another set of pa amp speakers. i can get main and control to work. can get anything to come out of 3/4. im only using channel 1 and 2 for inputs?
Shoot me an email & I will reply, I have some rough diagrams for other peoples questions it might be able to help. my email address meandeantv3@gmail.com
Hi, it will most likely have to do with your routing setup, a cheat is to hit the send to master bus on the channel strip (assuming your outputs work & there is not a problem with the desk). Channel routing can get you confused really easy sometimes, more so on the larger boards with sub busses. So you have to route your channel strip to either a sub bus that is then routed to the master bus or a lot of mixers give you the option to route it straight to the master bus. If you PFL the output signal you are sending to the speakers do you hear anything? Feel free to email mail me if you need clarify. Regards Dean
i have a question i have the same mixer on what u had demo and i have an audio recorder the zoom h5 i am not so familiar onto this recorder i am just an amateur just starting . is there any settings for the zoom h5 to set in order to roll my recording ? from the mixer
Hi there! Thank you for this! It is a great video. But i am doing everything right and as you say on the video to be able to listen to the FX (reverb) through the headphones and i still can't. I have the exact same model as you do, all the buttons are the same but i still can't hear the FX through the headphones. I'm talking about the build in FX and not any AUX FX. What am i doing wrong i wonder.
Christos Mastoroudes Hi, please check the following: 1. Make sure Aux 2 (FX) is wound up (pointing straight up) on the input channel you are using. 2. Then make sure the Aux 2 Send is wound up (pointing straight up). 3 Make sure the Aux 2 return is wound up (pointing straight up) . 4. Make sure the effects send switch is up (sending FX to the main mix). If you still have trouble send me your email address and I can help you offline. Regards Dean

Hi, yes with out the FX you will have to either use an external FX unit (run it through the AUX bus) rough guide, if using say aux 1 remember to turn up the channel strip aux 1 to half way, then turn up the desk's aux send up to half way & the aux return to half way that should get you some effects. For recording, record separate channel and apply FX in your software.
