I demo how to setup your mic levels to avoid too much power into the mixer using the PFL level and also how to use the FX built into the mixer and what kind of FX do you have and get.

Thanks so much. I got a UB2442FX from an estate sale and had no idea how to use it.
I really appreciate this video. I have all my gear setup right but im a novice and I could not figure out why I could not get any level from my mics without having the gain almost maxed. That of course was very noisy. I was almost about to buy a pre amp thinking the mixer pre's just weren't strong enough. After your video and explaining how to work the aux knobs I see where I went wrong. Thanks a lot!!! saved me a good bit of money.

Try using the mixer tape output (Rca top of the mixer). You will have to connect the red/white rca cable in the output and the other end to a recorder or back into you system input and record via that way.
Finally a instructional video most of the videos that are up are videos of the person pointing out how many pretty nobs he has on his console there is even one in two parts where the guy is basically saying look at all my. Pretty buttons doesn’t explain shit.

You could potentially damage your mic or mixer if the voltage are to high or overloaded. If the phantom power comes from the same unit, there's no voltage difference, and no damage can occur. However if your going to use separate units of power, it can be complicated with different power, hence causing damage to one unit. Buy something like a isolated splitter to control or block ground the power.

I really didnt know you could use it for the effects, I thought it was only for the Pitch? I really can't remember, I am sorry and I can't check because I don't own the mixer for a good 2 years now.
I discovered that when you use fx#9(echo), tap the TAP button a few times and it will echo in that rythm.

hi, i need yr help,i hve got behringer x1832usb but it can't seem to be doing anything like recording. whenever i try to record their are no vocal waves coming through,the vocal sounds are too low with noisy backgroung ,and there is a hissss coming through,,its really disturbing i hve installed the required drivers nothing is working,,what am i missing?,what should i do anyhelp plizz,,,thankx

I have a question.....I just purchased a 2222fx, which I want to go out to dslr camera that has mic input. the rca jacks on mixer.....how do I get them to work? I must not be pushing a button down to make them work. any idea?

What if you have a guest on the show and is using the mic, but on occasion there voice gets louder and louder,is there a cut off switch, where by if they shout it will not damage the speakers? (so the level of the mic will never go higher than the level set no matter if they shout or not)

Controlling the feedback or raising the effect amount is down by the main FX knob on the channel. Like say my mic is on channel one, than the fx on the channel level will provide overall amount. the feedback control will come from where the main board is, the 2 orange close together to the right. They will balance the fx level.

I have a couple questions: with many vocals do you do this for each channel? Like once you have it set for one channel, you can't change it really for the other channels right? Except on their own strip. Is that correct?
Also, do you or are you suppose to keep the solo FX button down on the "sends"? And do you need to engage the other FX button that's on the "return" side? Like turning the knob is all you need to do?
Lastly, do the "Aux sends" and "stereo Aux returns" work the same for your monitors? Do you need to (or should I be using them) to control the sound level?

Elias Gadgets Thanks again! Your vid was very helpful! As all your vids are! Are you then not answering any more questions on the behringer? Since you have a different board? But, If you are able to answer one more for me, I was wondering about the button on each strip right by the "Aux" knobs that says "pre". I assume that is the pre-fade button, but not sure exactly what or when that should be used? Again, I can't express how much I appreciate your advice and how it has helped me!

Tracey C Oh no am still going to be always answering questions or guiding to other vids that may hold some answers to mixer. Yes Aux is the pre-fade and also the knobs are your auxiliary sends, they just allow you to control sound sent to other speakers from your main speakers or anything that you have hooked up to the mixer. Best to use these or I have only used these when I have my own external effects united that I hooked up to the mixer and I would channel the sound effects into the mixer controlling them and directing them to whichever channel strip I desired, you can control the amount applied to the channel strip via the fader or knob.

Do I need a separate headphone amp or does that mixer work?? Also The only ants I see for headphones are four channels and I have more than four headphones

I have the Behringer Xyenx USB1204 and I am trying to get someone to do a video on how to set it up for youtube videos using a mic such this video you made. Are you able to do a video on that. Step by Step starting from taking the item out the box.
ohh am about to give the mixer away as I have now replaced it with a digital mixer the Presonus 16.0.2, i guess I will have to see what I can do, maybe I will do a last video to cover a lot of questions and request I've had and include your question in that video, I will not be able to cover everything step by step but will see what I can do.

How do i get this Mixer to work with my Dj Controller...i got the Numark NS7 Dj Controller System i got sound coming out the mixer only problem is i can not record my mix cd together with the mixer cause i got Serato Itch software for my Controler....can you help me to get it to record my normal mix cd..

No software required. It works from mixer automatically.

I cannot hear the FX through the headphones. Am I doing something wrong?
Something is turned off on the board you're not seeing, either volume or clip button or something - keep fiddling, I had the same stress when starting out on it
how about compressor..how tu used
I connect my desktop speakers to the phone jack but dont get the effects out loud but when recorded on my computer the effects work just fine. any idea how to send the effects to my speakers?
have you tried switching the source button and see what if it makes a difference? sorry I can't help much because its been good few years now since I had the mixer.

+Jeffrey Oden - Yes you can do that, it just depends what daw you use, I would recommend you use the software the comes with the mixer for all your eidting, you have the qx versions so you should have gotten a lot of bundled software made specifically to edit. If you didnt than go onto the website and download them for free.
There wasn't any that came with my mixer. Do you know of some that will allow that? There also wasn't any on the website either

That Camera-moving makes me crazy...maybe post-processing ??? It´s unsupportable...

Would be better if you tune through all the effects one by one instead of talking endlessly about some of your favourite effects.
Please take this as constructive criticism, but maybe you should study up on the effects control a bit before posting. It was obvious that you didn't really know what was going on with the effects/parameter knob. But then again, NEITHER DO I. You fumble around with it as much as I do (with questionable results) but I didn't think I was knowledgeable enough to record a tutorial. I have a 1622 and was hoping to find out how the knob and the TAP button (which you don't even mention) are used to set the effects. Since there's even less information about this in the manual, I'll still keep looking...
I do know, I just wasn't covering them like many things about the mixer I don't go into. I use the effects a lot and also route my own via aux from my inserts with my own fx unit system into the mixer. Thank you and good luck.
Elias Gadgets You should check out how to achieve a proper gain structure anyways. What you are doing in this video is indeed quite questionable.
