*Disclaimer* All of the photos in color, were RAW files edited in Lightroom. All the B&W photos are straight-out-of-camera JPEGs using a custom B&W color setting within the camera.
It's insane how much the new models have gone up in price. I bought my GR 2 right after the GR 3 was released. The price drop at that point was significant. Mint condition for $350. Now it's worth more than double that.
Actually Ricoh started making film cameras within 1937 (mainly the 60s) I have a XR-10 that my dad gave me which is there SLR cameras. They started the GR cameras within the 90s. Then eventually bought Pentax in 2011
Great review! I just got an Olympus XA1 to have a small budget friendly film camera with a semi decent lens. But now I want a compact digital camera. This is looking like my number one choice so far!
My Ricoh GR II broke only 2 months from having it. Flex cable inside that handles the shutter and aperture inside the lens broke. After that I got the infamous lens stuck open. It's crazy how they make such an important component so weak and fragile.
I appreciate it! Usually on Shutter priority mode with SS set to 1/100 and auto ISO up to 3200. As for the colors I usually shoot in both RAW and JPEG with the JPEGs being set to B&W 👍
I have mine set to be changed by the scroll wheel just in front of the shutter button. The other option would be the ADJ scroller just under the power button. But make sure you’re either in M, S, or P mode so you’re actually allowed to change it.
Grea vid man 👏🏾👏🏾❤️ I’m looking for where to buy this or the GR Digital III at least but boyyy, all the ones I’ve seen are super expensive and above my budget
For BW I use the “Black & White” image settings and increase contrast to 9 and sharpness to 7. For color, I haven’t played around with the in-camera settings much, I usually just apply a quick lightroom preset
Thank you brotha!! It's an amazing camera and it just gets better the more you use it. I'm actually making a video about photo editing rn, so I'll have a link to a google drive folder with my presets in there in the description of it. Keep an eye out for that video soon!
beautiful shots and great video. how slow is the write speed when shooting RAW on this? I know it was really slow (like 9-12 seconds) on the original GR Digital
Great stuf! How long does the camera take to boot up and shut down? I want to use it as a pocket cam, so this is pretty important. I dont want to be waiting for the camera to turn on every tim i take it out of my pocket.
Aint no way these videos are yours.. It looks like a reupload from a channel with 1m subs. Well done man keep it up :) It looks like you have been doing this for years haha

what were the custom b&w settings you used?

What a steal! Yeah, definitely wish i had known about them back then. It’s crazy what a little bit of tiktok marketing can do to resale prices
Awesome review, love your style and shots! Got me looking at one now lol
HAHA thank you so much! Come join the dark side! 😂

Noted!

I appreciate it! The XA1 looks like an awesome camera! But if you want a little more convenient and quicker turn-around, GR’s are your best bet
good review. if you can, look for the GX200, the zoom is 24-72mm something.
Woah! To be honest i had no idea this camera even existed. I’ll definitely check it out!

Woah no way!! I'm so sorry to hear that! Where did you buy it from??
Loved the video, would have liked to see a few more of the awesome shots you've taken with it. Keep it up man!
THANK YOU! I’ll be sure to post some more content about this camera. how soon though depends on how well this video does lol
Great review! Got the GRD IV a couple months back, just wondering what settings do you use?
I appreciate it! Usually on Shutter priority mode with SS set to 1/100 and auto ISO up to 3200. As for the colors I usually shoot in both RAW and JPEG with the JPEGs being set to B&W 👍
How can you adjust the ss can’t seem to find it?

I appreciate it Cristian! I’m right there with you, I fight that urge every day 😂
My 🐐
😖🥹
gooood review-!! 😁👍🏼
I’m glad you enjoyed!!
It's crazy how expensive they are now
Foreal, it’s kinda wild. They’re great cameras, don’t get me wrong, but there are definitely better value options out there
Great Video! Im convinced, where can I buy one of these?
THANK YOU! EBAY brothaa!
What are the settings/presets I can use to get pictures straight out of the camera vs processing post? Is that possible?
are you looking for Black and White or Color?
@@kyle_munoz Mostly color. But curious on your BW settings as well unless you just use the Ricoh presets.
For BW I use the “Black & White” image settings and increase contrast to 9 and sharpness to 7. For color, I haven’t played around with the in-camera settings much, I usually just apply a quick lightroom preset
Great Review! Awsome shots too man! I just got my GRD IV and I love it!! Also, Mind sharing your presets?

@@kyle_munozgot a gr digital 3 and love it too. wondering if this video and google drive link is available now?
Ooh! I haven’t made the video yet but I’ll try to get the folder to you asap
@@kyle_munoz thanks! cant wait and love the work you do
@@kyle_munoz thanks man :)
beautiful shots and great video. how slow is the write speed when shooting RAW on this? I know it was really slow (like 9-12 seconds) on the original GR Digital
Thanks so much Miles I appreciate it! Shooting RAW takes about 4 seconds per shot on this specific version.
@@kyle_munoz appreciate the quick response. that's not bad at all. this feels like the perfect sidekick to my fuji x100s. thanks again.
Of course! I love this thing as a sidekick to pretty much any camera. I appreciate the comment!
Great stuf! How long does the camera take to boot up and shut down? I want to use it as a pocket cam, so this is pretty important. I dont want to be waiting for the camera to turn on every tim i take it out of my pocket.
Thank you! Takes just a couple seconds. I haven’t timed it but it hasn’t caused me to miss any shots
Did you face dust issues? Secondly, do you've an Instagram account where you post your shots?
No dust issues so far! Unfortunately he only place I really post them is to my personal instagram
Great Video
I appreciate it!
1:39 This is false. The APSC GR and GRII have a popup flash. The GRIII is the first GR without a flash.
brother… if you just waited a couple more seconds i correct myself and say this exact thing
Aint no way these videos are yours.. It looks like a reupload from a channel with 1m subs. Well done man keep it up :) It looks like you have been doing this for years haha
Man thank you so much!! That means the world to me!!
Ricoh made film cameras long before the mid-90s..
🫡
Dislike you calling it a disposable camera..it's legendary and should not be disrespected.
LOL sorry. In all fairness, that was just a silly tagline to go with the title of the video, in reality i just call it my Ricoh.
Does not look like film, like at all. RUclipsrs gotta stop with the clickbait.
I have 500 subs, relax. It’s not like i’m earning a living off these videos
ONG bro these RUclipsrs be doing the most
Completely disagree, but what would make them look more like film?
😘✌️
