- Landing on Runway 08 of Ísafjörður Airport (Isafjordur / Isafjördur - Iata-Code IFJ) in Iceland with a Bombardier Dash 8-200 of Air Iceland Connect. The airport is located at the end of a fjord surrounded by steep mountains. The most used approach consist of flying into the fjord, turning 180 degrees left and then landing on the short runway. Filmed in November 2018.

Used to be a passenger on this route regularly , in some awful weather as well always hated it 😂 but pilots were always exceptional!

Ísafjörður has an awesome campground and you can climb this mountain beside the Airport to see airplanes landing! Ísafjörður is the departure to the most wonderful trekking ever! Hornstrandir area!
can't agree more ! I was there 2 month ago, best campsite ever with awesome view of the waterfall. Great view on the town and the fjord from the Troll Seat, i recommend. Hornstrandir is faboulous also, I've been backpacking solo 7 days and wow, very wild and stunning

HOLY SMOKES - this airfiels has been WERY GOOD modelled in EUROTRUCK SIMULATOR 2 - i could reconize all the places right away!
Umm.. Iceland is not a driveable country in ETS2 :D

@@reynirheidbergstefansson2343 somehow a pause was inserted in the video and I only saw 2 seconds of it....'thats it?' was my reaction.....on second viewing I had to unpause the vid and saw the whole landing....not the easiest place to get into, is it?
It's not. Mind, I have never been to the West Fjords myself, but there are often road and airport closures there during winter.
