Why are you teaching and praising all this pre 20th century shit? That's old. There's various modern Canadian authors that are even more complex and well written. Question his heritage is this man an immigrant?
All 24 of his rules for life make sense to me. Too bad his career has now been built on breaking a very important one: to abandon ideology. As soon as he moved to the Daily Wire, one of the most ideologically charged websites in the world, he turned into a massive hypocrite, peddling advice he's apparently too good to follow.
Seems like this is one of the first videos on your channel to really reach a larger audience. Keep it up, great content. Was feeling the same thing for a while now. It became propaganda, seems like he's trying to push an agenda, but that is power.
When Peterson talks about psychology and mythology, I am all ears. When he rambles on about politics, personal grievances, and sham science (ie: climate change is concocted by Woke Neo-Marxists) I roll my eyes.
Pride is sin number one. Perterson fell into the second greatest sin...victimhood. He can go on and on about how governments and people are against him. In that regard, he reflects Christianity quite well. And like Christianity, his "take" goes up. You would not wish to know his net worth in the past ten years. Direct correlation between complaining and money.
I think you are right and I checked his channel for the latest episode and it was with Sam Harris. I felt like you and had to overthink my stance. I still think that his view is tainted when it comes to religion though. I know that he sees religion as an institution of meaning in a world that looses its meaning day by day and I agree insofar that people have to pursue meaning to have a fullfilled life. At the same time I think that meaning doesnt necessarily has to be found in religion and I am completely disagreeing with the catholic view that humankind is fundamentally flawed. And when it comes to these pressing and complex questions Peterson gets more and more convoluted with his answers (I thought about the Dillahunty interview). But maybe I just saw the wrong clips, as I stopped consuming his content on a regular basis. And as a non native english speaker I might also get overwhelmed by some of the complexity. In conclusion: I like his psychology takes, but I dont like his religion takes as they seem to be to personal (his own health and his wifes cancer story seemed to have resulted in an exaggeration of a christian miracle)
Yes, Jordan Peterson did fall off. I no longer watch him having been a big fan in the early part of his youtube career. Before making this comment I checked his podcasts on yt and watched part of several videos. Mostly he is being a interviewer on social, political and pyschological subjects. There is little about self help or religious myth making. They did not, however, change my opinion. Jordan Peterson is trying to convince himself

Your first mistake was making him a hero. He's a person just like anyone else just as capable of failure as anyone else.
Well said. Peterson is a total nut job now

Jordan Peterson is trying to convince himself
Too much emphasis upon religion has left me searching elsewhere for answers, not relinquished to a hypothetical solution
Agree! To what degree do you think we can create our own values?
A search that may leave you empty handed. What if religion, better described as faith, was the answer he concluded?
im with you on this one@@deansmith1506
