A bit. I think even brilliant people like Jordan downplay Trump’s brilliance. I do agree with his critique of our often worship of our presidents and First Ladies. But IMHO, Trump took a lot of that *down* a notch. And so did Melania. Though she is beautiful, smart and successful in her own right, I never got the sense as I did with certain other First Ladies (cough! Obama), that she thought of herself as royalty. They Trumps never gave me an air of a “Royal couple” (again, unlike certain other couples who *still* do: cough again: Obamas and Clintons).
For me, Trump, in spite of his showmanship, just feels like a real person doing his duty and his job. Just serving his country. While a very different style and personality, more like President Reagan (and go see REAGAN! A great movie. Ignore the critics).

It’s not so hard to be a real estate mogul when your father handed you the keys to the kingdom along with $400 million.
Anyone who actually understands policy knows trump knows nothing about it, aside from “build the wall,” which I’m not necessarily opposed to. Trump’s economic policy is the same old, tired, trickle down theory that hasn’t worked since Reagan imposed it.

The characterization is not strange - he's an analyst after all - but the admiration speaks volumes about Peterson's myopia. One wants to ask, "To what extent are these personality traits (a 15 year old man-child, psychopathic tendencies)) - well-adapted to the role he aspires to serve - the role of a leader entrusted with negotiating the interests and goals of a fading superpower in the context of an increasingly multipolar world?" - I'm honestly flabbergasted that JP can't see the disconnect here.

Peterson's estimation of the role of the First Lady is way off the mark. The reason the position is important is because of the heritage of outstanding First Ladies, e.g., Dolley Madison, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jacqueline Kennedy. When I first heard Jordan Peterson I thought he sounded like a very intelligent and thoughtful person. But then I heard him speak about religion and I started to wonder. When asked whether he believes in God, he replied, “Well, what do you mean by do? And what do you mean by you? And what do you mean by believe?…” all the way through that simple question. And when asked about whether he believes that the Exodus of the Bible really happened, he replied that in some sense it was still happening. And was Jesus the son of God? Well, that might take forty years to answer. And now, hearing him speak admiringly of Trump- even saying, on a different interview, that he would vote for Trump if he could- I can only conclude that, while he is obviously well educated with a large vocabulary which he uses very fluently, he is nonetheless very flawed in his thinking. How anyone who has any respect for Truth could respect anyone like Trump is very problematic. Truth has value, and anyone who admires a chronic and habitual liar should not be trusted.

I don't think the Colonel was the cause of Elvis' death, but he certainly messed up his career. Elvis died young, just like his mom and his daugher, so there is a genetic component there, plus he was a pill addict. However, the Colonel took a large portion of Elvis' earnings and he should have fired him or at least forced the Colonel to renegotiate their agreement at the height of his fame. With the millstone of the Colonel's lucrative contract and Elvis' penchant for being overly generous meant that he was on the stage peforming more than he should have been.

Before his wife, Eleanor Roosevelt, the President's wives had no voice or any specific duties. After Eleanor Roosevelt, it became tradition and was expected. During the Great Depression, Franklin D. Roosevelt was unable to travel and take care of the needs of interest groups and more. Eleanor would go in his place and was so good at what she did that they made the first lady a role with political influence ever since.

    • @mr.gilbert2790
      @mr.gilbert2790 Месяц назад

Criminal charges are a political witch hunt from the left, trump was charged for something that every president since AT LEAST bill Clinton has done.
Incessant lying, if you could provide examples of this I would be amazed since trump is only one of few presidents to actually deliver on what he said he was going to do, unlike the Biden administration who keep talking yet do nothing.
Racism and misogyny, once again if you could actually provide a real excerpt of this behaviour I would be amazed. But you can’t because the only place you get this information is from social media, which are complete lies that you somehow have fallen for.
And January 6th, trump never ordered for those people to do what they did, and he never would’ve. However, the democrats on numerous occasions have incited this type of behaviour. Kamala herself has said LIVE on television to continue destructive riot behaviour. Literally, said it herself. I would advise you to cease being brainwashed by the media, unless you want to continue to support a party that has been ripping the US apart from the inside out for the past 16 years. I mean no wonder why so many democrats are leaving and even supporting trump. How on earth can you support a party that loves war, loves bringing in illegal immigrants just for cheap labour and continues to destroy the economy whilst being backed by billionaire lobbyists that only care about themselves? Literally millions of American lives are now suffering on an unprecedented scale thanks to the Biden administration in which not they were under Trump. The whole world was better under Trump. The world economy was better, Trump kept Russia and Israel on a leash, there were no wars. The only problem we had was the brainless media bashing on him constantly because the political elite were not in office. Not to mention the political witch hunt that was reminiscent of the 1950’s communism fear where anyone disliked was labelled a Soviet. Oh, how the democrats have regressed to using 1950’s tactics, and then blind supporters actually believe it.

It's more like, "How can I say this without offending Donald?" Especially given what he said right after that pause.

I absolutely agree with Jordon’s assessment! Is that not obvious.

Hearing Jordan drop the F-word gave me a jolt because he usually so careful with his words. Yes, I realize that he was talking as Trump would talk when push too far. But it still was jarring to hear those words leave Jordan's mouth.

If JP doesn’t realize other world leaders see trump as a pathetic narcissist who’s easily manipulated with flattery or giving him something he’s a terrible psychologist.

@@jtjones4081 He does.. He has even said it aloud.. Problem is, he is smart enough to recognize who the REAL idiots are in the room. People like you for example..

My feel about Trump is why blue collar people get him. He's a developer, he talks to brickies, plumbers, people who work with their hands. If you hit him, he hits back harder. He does not give a shit. He's not a diplomat that say nice things. Another thing, is his boomer humour. He speaks like my dad, no filter, says everything that goes through his head and think he is funny like china flu or Kommie Kamala (some of it is) and laughs at his own jokes.

He can say "Don't fuck with me" all the time when he's in federal prison.

Petersen knows Trump can be manipulated by flattery. He dished out a lot in this interview. Hmm, he did state he would like to interview Trump, this incredibly smart, talented, and forthright person😂
