The moment Brian said "Thunderstruck" scientists picked up the movement of the crowd on their seismographs. All three nights.
Viva Argentina!
The River Plate concerts (3 nights sold out) gathered around 200,000 in total so the Buenos Aires stadium can hold almost 70,000 people each night in this concert configuration. What is even most impressive to me is that Brian Johnson, the singer, is in early 60s when he is performing in this video. I think the other guys might be a tad younger, like mid/late 50s at that time. Amazing and iconic band.
1.6 million people at once attended the Metallica concert in Moscow 1991
@@nvpyt2235ясно. Пойду поспу
@@nvpyt2235 That was the Monsters of Rock tour; Metallica was only one of the bands playing. AC/DC was on the same tour.
Angus was 54, Malcolm(RIP) was 56, Cliff Williams was 60 and Phil Rudd was 55. And Brian was 62. Though, the oldest former member is Chris Slade, and Bon Scott would have been 63 if he'd still been around.
I'm 58, so their music was all over the place, so I get a real kick watching them being equally enjoyed by younger generations.
Young man, there is nothing like an AC/DC concert.
For me, their performance of Highway To Hell during this same concert at River Plate really made this crowd go nuts.
2009, the year you graduated from high school --- and the year I turned 54 years old. AC/DC has always been balls deep rock.
R.I.P. Malcolm Young. These guys always busted balls in concert. A genuinely great time for all rockers!
What you hear from him is what he has. The vocal sound of AC/DC doesn’t change much no matter which of the singers you hear. They are just balls to the wall Rock!!
Rip bon
You know what you don't see here? Cell phones. This crowd came to live in the moment and PARTY! And that's how it's done ... don't live through your phone screen at concerts. (NGL, of course I've recorded a thing or two here and there, but then I put it away. Just enjoy the energy, the people you're with and the people you're there to see. :) )
I miss that so much. People don’t experience the moment. Damn phones.
Great insight. We definitely didn't get that vibe in winnipeg tge 2x I saw them here
I saw them in 2009 and I noticed not many people had their cells out like they did 3 years earlier when I saw the Rolling Stones. I definitely lived in the moment and soaked it all in.
You have GOT to react to AC/DC's "For Those About to Rock We Salute You" Live at River Plate. It will blow your mind!
This is the PERFECT example of a group surviving the replacement of a lead singer. They hit gold with Brian Johnson after Bon Scott died! Edit: you can NOT go wrong with AC/DC. If you're interested, definitely dive in!
Exactly! Love them both ❤
Not too shabby for a bunch of old dudes!!!! Brian Johnson was 63, Angus Young was 55 and the rest of the boys were in their 50’s!!! Legendary is all I can say. These Argentina fans are the best on the planet and they appreciate good hard driving rock and roll. Just look at all the different ages in the crowd. It transcends generations. Unbelievable!! So says Austin Tx!!!! 🤣🤣🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸😍😍😍🥳🥳😎😎🍸
Now THIS is how to experience and enjoy a musical classic. I wasn't an ACDC fan, but respect them to the max. Just like the Grayeful Dead who likewise packed the concert venues. They had fans called "Dead Heads" who followed them from concert to concert.
The energy and volume at an AC/DC show is off the charts. Still deaf here.
What? 😂
@@debbiedebster5806 What? I can't here you from 3 feet away...come closer! 😆
@@TrianglesAndCircles hahaa! I remember going to one show and working early the next day, i basically screamed at my customers 😂 I got a lot of "why so mad, Deb?" LOL
"Pure rock song " You got it man ! Welcome to the AC/DC world !
The energy level goes up another notch during Whole Lotta Rosie, from the same show. You will not regret it. Peace from Toronto!
This band can pack a Colosseum, stadium, and anywhere else they play
I've seen these guys live 3 times, they never fail to bring the heat! Sounds perfect every time. Awesome band!
I don't understand how Angus keeps it up.
You have to watch more from River Plate - Highway to Hell, Whole Lotta Rosie, etc. The best live hard rock band in the world - even at their age.
Seriously imagine being there . Absolute fucking fire !
👏👏👏YES!!!! Here we goooo!!! Gonna watch now and then I gotta head into work for the day/evening. Be back later to comment on ur reaction... I just wanted to leave a quick one now to say thank you for FINALLY hitting AC/DC!!!! Whoo-hoo!!!!! You rock Salvo!!😎❤
EDIT: if you liked the views of the crowd moving as one then the next River Plate performance to check out should be "TNT".... the crowd will blow your mind!!!!👊🤯
We’re you living under a rock they are LEGENDARY!!!😮
AC/DC was the best concert by far I've ever been to
Esto es en "RIVER PLATE", Argentina. Yo soy uno de los presente. Te puedo asegurar... "Que fué una locura", NO ME LO OLVIDO MÁS....!!!!!
That walk is Angus Young's trade mark! I was there!!!! unforgettable
ACDC has been Rockin out for 50 years now dude, there awesome in concert, I saw them in 84 and it was great dude
From the same gig: Highway To Hell/Whole Lotta Rosie/Back In Black/You Shook Me All Night Long/Rock 'Roll Train....every track sets this amazing crowd into ecstasy. This had to be the greatest rock-loving crowd in the history of rock music (well maybe some of the gigs at Knebworth come pretty close...)
He originated the move and he always wears the British school boys uniform on stage!
And Marty McFly borrowed the move from him!
All time favorite never gets old and never will...
Thunderstruck ⚡
I seen this very same tour...i still have my devil horns! BEst show I ever seen in my life!
Keep in mind that most of their fans are your parents' age or older. Except for those younger folks with exceptionally good taste :)
this song is pure energy
They are actually from Scotland but moved to Australia.
I love this song fairly recently, I am more of a Rolling Stones, Steppenwolf,CCR , Bob Seger, Led Zeppelin fan but I have come to adore this
there is a lot of ac dc and a must listen too
It is hard to describe the feeling I have of the memories this brings me from my youth. When I was a teen in the 80s mine and my best friends boyfriends and all his buddies listened to AC/DC and Led Zepplin and Black Sabbath. These songs pounding out of large speakers in the back of their cars as we drove the circuit in our small town in the evenings on a Saturday night. Nothing now compares to what we had then.
The guitar player got his inspirational “skipping” from Chuck Berry’s JohnnyBGoode
Angus, the guitar player loves to do the Duck Walk, which is a tribute to Chuck Berry.
Love ACDC
...Malcolm and Angus came from Scotland...the family went to Australia early 60's ...
For Those About To Rock (we salute you) is an awesome song!
FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK RIVER PLATE. SAME SHOW OR ONE OF THE 3 NIGHTS. AMAZING
I saw them on their last tour in Toronto, amazing show... You can feel that just a pounding through your chest
Other than their song RIDE ON (one of their best) EVERY ACDC song is an anthem rocker. Every single one.
I was in Saudi Arabia in Desert Storm, (Desert Shield at the time) and received the Razor's Edge cd in the mail. Popped it in my walkman and it blew me away. The whole album. AC/DC: three chords and the TRUTH
The whole album was awesome ... Thank you for serving
I saw them in 2009 in a crowd of 70,000 people, which for my city is a huge number. (we had 80,000 3 years earlier for the Rolling Stones and our city only has 79,470 as of 2021, so that tells you what it means to have that many people at one concert site.
They are amazing in person. A must see if you can.
Thunderstruck is literally my favorite AC/DC song.
AC/DC is another band that must be experienced Live. Energy is an understatement. Dig into their history. It is fascinating. The lead guitarist is Angus Young & that move he makes is called the ''Duck Walk' inspired by Chuck Berry.
I was just going to comment about the Duck Walk and Chuck Berry (Met him in 2002 when I was working at a casino in Alton, IL, when he'd go there before he passed and still lived in St Louis)!!! He's (Angus) always worn that school uniform type outfit, which I always thought was cool.
As bonkers and indeed as fantastic as YYZ with Rush in Rio ….Amazing ….Sending a hug Salvo 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️
Bon Scott would be proud to see where this band has gotten. RIP Bon
43 years ago and he's still a big presence in their history
Drummer Phil Rudd keeps time like a fine tuned watch! Awesome drummer... Does not get the respect he deserves. 🔊 🎶 🎸 🎤 🏟
This entire concert at River Plate is just mind blowing. This is after 3 solid decades of writing, recording and touring. So many albums. So many recognizable songs. Im 53 and my older brother was a really big fan. He got to take his teen son to watch a band he had listened to for about 30 yrs. And now the son is a big fan. That was 10 years ago. AC/DC is a multi generational band like few others can claim. Its not just the 18-25yr olds jumping around up front. There are thousands of 30 - 60 yr olds in that same crowd. Probably in the back out of the accidental elbows to the face area. That sh-t hurts more the older you get. Lol Few bands can draw younger fans through 4 dacades of playing.
I can’t imagine being there 🔥 I get chills just from the video 😊❤❤ I love how varied the age of the crowd is.
The guy playing guitar and hop stepping is Angus and he does that in imitation of Chuck Berry who does this from the 60-70s. He was in his early 60 on this video.🇨🇦
River Plate is a soccer stadium in Argentina
I was there.............. 70,000 is the seating at the stadium. The official amount of patrons was 234,000.
You just now got to ACDC Wow. Back in black best album ever produced. And thunderstruck was probably the best song ever produced. And river plate was the biggest and best live performance ever produced. I think Angus and Malcolm Family move from Scotland to Australia when they were young. Brian Johnson he's a Jordy from the UK. The hat he wears is it a Jordy hat.
It was reported that a few miles away there was a earthquake seismograph that picked up the vibration.
That little dance step across the stage that guitarist Angus Young (in the knickers) is doing is called a duckwalk. It's a move made famous in the early days of rock 'n' roll by Chuck Berry.
You have GOT to hear The Jack. That is a killer song from this show.
South American crowds are a breed apart. Between this show and the Rush show from Rio, you realize you've never been to a show like they have down south of the equator.
They're all there to hear Angus Young!!!
Lead singer Brian Johnson is from England. Lead guitar, Angus young, and his brother ,Malcom, moved from Scotland as kids. Brian took the place of Bon Scott who died around 1980.
Angus Young's kick-walk across the stage is reminiscent of Chuck Berry's duck-walk which originated back in the 1950s.
This would be a great band to do reactions to Salvo. Luv your videos brother!! These guys are legends of rock!!¡
Hard Rock at its Best!😁🎊😊
You Shouk Me All Night Long, is a great, popular song. I love Shoot To Thrill. Hell's Bells is a classic. So many more! Shake Your Foundations had a great riff. Highway To Hell...
My favorite band!!!
Guitarist Angus Young was doing the modern day version of Chuck Berry’s “duckwalk”.You MUST watch some earlier clips of AC/DC where Angus walks in a circle while lying on the floor….yeah, its true.
Just announced a European tour summer 24 🎉🎉🎉🎉
AC/DC is on the mount rushmore of rock! What's crazy to me is that this awesome crowd is just a FRACTION of the crowd that attended Metallica in Russia. Crazy town shit
Yes!!! More AC/DC! All of these videos from River Plate are awesome. Check out Highway to Hell, Whole Lotta Rosie, Hells Bells, The Jack, I could go on and on lol
This is their 2nd singer. For a little variety, look up "Its a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll." With their original singer Vonn Scott playing a little bagpipes. Both very good, but different.
The crowd is so massive and so in unison with singing along and moving, that it's not out of the question for anyone watching this video to think "is this some AI manipulation"? Power rock such as this is what can create what you see here-only a few bands can load up a 100k plus for three nights in Argentina.
More from River Plate, please! 💖😎
I go see these guys every time they come to my neck of the woods. My favorite concert group since the 70s. They give 100% every time and really seem to enjoy being up on stage. The shows are always packed. If you want an idea of how charged it can get, do 'Let There Be Rock'. Angus churns up the crowd with his antics. It's fun.
"So I wasn't born yet", dang I feel old, (I was 31).
This was in 2009, Brian Johnson joined in 1980, and the band itself in 1973.
So they had already been rocking for decades.
River Plate Stadium, Argentina!!
Most concerts in Argentina are like that, crowd go nuts all the time
ACDC live is epic and so much fun !I saw them in the 70s when Bon Scott was lead singer .he died way too young.Brain is an excellent front man/singer.you should check out early ACDC :) loved your reaction !
Yee ha!!!!! Rock on, dudes!!!
I went to there concert in 2010 I was 16 was one of the best concerts iv ever been too
Was a packed out show in Sydney Australia like this video here
Toke me like 2 hours to get my hearing back lol 😆
I always piss off my neighbors, but when I do I turn the AC/DC up ALL the way.
New sub from india becoz of ACDC reaction
You should see when Angus plays the intro guitar with one hand. Angus was one of the greatest guitar players. Always rumored he had savant syndrome
6:43..that is the "duckwalk" Also used by Chuck Berry who saw it in a Marx Brothers film.
Brian Johnson , the lead singer is from the north east of England up the road from me.
Oh yeah! AC/DC best concerts ever! Saw them several time thru the 80's the energy there is through the roof!
The band was formed in Australia, but Malcolm and Angus Young were born in Scotland (as well as Bon Scott their 2nd singer) Brian Johnson is from NewCastle England. Only Phil Rudd and Cliff Williams are really Australian.
Highway to Hell at this concert is a banger.
Dire Straits doing Sultans of Swing (Live Alchemy) and INXS at Wembley are knockout live gigs.
yes, please do more AC/DC (or as us Aussies call them ACCA DACCA) from The River Plate
1, the "duck walk" of Angus Young is iconic, as is his collapse and "spin" in a circle on stage, both while wailing the absolute *hell* out of the guitar.
2, Angus is also known for MAD energy on the stage, he drinks several liters during a concert to keep his fluids up because the sweat POURS off of him, and at the end of any given concert, he's *soaked* wet. He's also been known to take on oxygen to be able to keep going.
3, Angus' school boy uniform is also iconic to the band, and the first one was made by his, and Malcolm's, sister Margaret who also coined the bands name, since her sewing machine was marked "AC/DC".
Angus has been rated as one of the best guitarists in the world several times(among these accolades, nr 38 out of 250 in 2023, by Rolling Stones magazine). When he was asked what he felt about that, he said, "I'm not even the best guitarist in the band!". RIP Malcolm Young.
Angus is a rock legend. I saw them in Sept 2009 here in Canada, he gave us a 20 min guitar solo and was moving around the stage, and a long walk like in this video the entire time. He was drenched!
Ac dc forever
From when the lights first go out you don't sit down till you get to your car. These guys Rock live.
More River Plate please !!!
Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷 best crowd ever 💪
Awesome stuff!!🔥🔥 For a chuckle, you should check out Jim Bruer's comedy bit about them being able to make any song rock, specifically the Hokey Pokey😉😂 it's serious comedy gold! Loved today's reactions, thanks! Happy to see you're feeling better!❤✌
AC/DC was the BEST and LOUDEST live show of my life since 1988. I thought nothing could top that energy for over 30 years...until I took my daughter to Slipknot in 2019. My daughter was 😮 and I suddenly became the coolest mom. 😂😂😂💀🤘🏽🖤🤘🏻🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Honestly, never was a fan, in my day, but saw them live a few years ago, and changed my mind. Amazing performance/performers. Sooooo much energy. Just grabs you and sweeps you up.
