After this concert, the River Plate stadium was closed for concerts because the sound of the band and the jump of the audience produced movements and cracks in the nearby buildings. For several months it was not possible to hold recitals. It was epic! (Text by Daniel Sainz)

One point missed is that this is at the River Plate in Argentina....and a crowd of 90,000 know every word of every song and are singing along in English!
Seated capacity 70K, plus what 5 to 10K on the arena. Was it 4 shows? That makes 300+ K fans saw this show. What an audience! What a band! What impresses me is that these guys were all in their 50s by this time, and they were still smashing it out, and had been for decades.
No. 3 shows at 70K tops (what you are citing is seating capacity during a match, when all the stands are available. 210K total. No need to artificially bump up the numbers when it's already extraordinary!
Okay guys, for those of you who haven’t seen the whole concert, if you know ac/dc you know they have a song called hell’s bells and there’s a huge bell that comes down from the ceiling when it starts and it’s got a long rope on it and for this concert and probably more the rope has a noose tied at the bottom, not a real noose but a circle that people on here have been calling a noose, anyway the singer Brian Jonshon runs down the long stage and jumps on the bell rope and he sticks his foot in the noose to hang on and swing around and that’s what everyone is seeing during the thunderstruck song is the bottom of the bell rope, so calm down 😂
The 'noose' is hanging from Hell's Bell. Brian puts his foot in it and swings from the bell.

I love AC DC and the crowds of fans..I guess its the mom and grandmother in me, but I have to wonder with that large of a crowd packed in their what would happen if there was an emergency like a earthquake or fire..I dont mean to be a downer, I would be right in the middle of it if I could. But it just makes me wonder. Anyone else think about stuff like that???

Después de este recital, el estadio de River Plate fue clausurado para dar recitales porque el sonido de la banda y el salto del público produjo movimientos y grietas en los edificios cercanos. Por varios meses no se pudieron realizar recitales. Fue épico!
Yo fui a este reci y a los 3 meses a ver a Metallica ahi mismo. Como para que no se vengan abajo los edificios de Nuñez, jajajaja

Los argentinos somos muy emocionales...yo fui a ese recital y te puedo asegurar que verdaderamente se sacudía todo.
Es la diferencia que hay con el resto de países...nadie puede superar la emocionalidad y pasión Argentina.
Esto no nos hace ni mejores ni peores , pero en lo respecta y musicalmente hablando , somos el mejor público.

En medio del recital te pasaban los robots fílmicos por arriba lo que pasa que en medio del recital no te das cuenta.

Luego vi a muchas bandas , pero te puedo asegurar que este fue tremendo recital.
Uno de los más grosos que vi fue the doors con ian( the cult) en estadio velez .
Fue tremendo.
Y otro que me gustó mucho fue deep purple en el Luna.

I was there in early December of 2009 with my friends. We were in our final stretch our Gap Year and we decided to spend our savings to travel all the way from Sydney to Argentina to watch ACDC's 3rd night concert.
Good investment, I'd say.

Great review of possibly the most amazing concert ever. Music nowadays is so bland in comparison but I believe there is still a desire for real rock and roll.... the band members are in their 60s here but look at the crowd... I’d say 90% of the fans are in their 20s!! Incredible popularity longevity and energy from AC/DC!

Ask any Big Band or Musician, Nobody can play AC/DC like they do. No one can play, so precisely and without error, so loudly without making a mistake, because at such a high volume, every mistake is noticed even when the strings are not pressed or plucked properly, let alone playing a solo or a fast rhythm and other. No one can play as perfectly and precisely and Loudly as AC /DC.

The “noose” is attached to the Hells Bell. I recommend doing that video next of this same concert. Brian will swing from that when it’s lowered.

Angus Young has another signature move...he moons the crowd! 😂 I saw AC/DC 4 times in the 80's and he did it every show.

Yes, those were speakers towers! The sound was so loud, so good, just perfect for an AC/DC concert.
I also remember that it was so crowded that I didnt have to jump, the people jumping arround me made my jump with them. You will be jumping even if you didnt want to ahahahaha

ACDC is definitely best tasted live as you well know my friend!!! If you got the chops do the song “Let There Be Rock” from this River Plate concert. Angus does damn near 16 minutes of kicking ass guitar work and a solo in the air. Granted it is a longer video than most to get by the censors but the time flys and it’s probably their greatest performance of all time. You won’t be disappointed!!!! Just saying!!!! Never got to go to many concerts, parents were not wealthy, but in Sheffield, UK we had the best rock scene in the UK, so I heard all this music in pubs and clubs. AC/DC my favourite band of ever so many. I miss the 80's

We didn’t have the Internet . We only had merchandise as far as record albums, and the sleeves that came in them, or what was in a magazine that was put out every month.!
