Never imagined Batman as a lighthearted person. Maybe even the most serious person can't stay serious during the festive season. Looks like a fun Christmas movie. Glad DC are still releasing unique stuff like this.
There are more instances in and out of comics of Batman being lighthearted than not. He's not supposed to be a brooding loner, that's something the movies popularized.

As a Batman fan of 20+ years, I approve. It homages the old Adam West wacky cartoon Batman with its cartoon antics. Let Batman have this. Nice seeing him be a happy dad with an adoring son for once.
This looks nothing like I expected and I'm all for it. The designs work ao well in the animation and seeing them in action is much better than some stills. Maybe with the exception of Alfred.
To be honest, the trailer is not that bad, the story is like a parody and tribute to Home Alone 1 (my favorite Christmas movie), apart from the fact that Damian Wayne in this universe is not a psychopath as he is, I think the idea and the animation are good. It's bizarre and strange but fun, it reminds me of the classic books I read. Anyway, it's cool, we'll see how it is 😮👌

I feel that the best interpretations of Damian are when he's very young and naive, and preferably isn't a homicidal lunatic. We all know what Batman has been through, my man is the Guts of the DC universe. He deserves a kid who's... Well a bit more on the positive side rather than destructive. Just my opinion.
@@The_Based_Batman The more killer based Damian works in the comics. But the issue is that you can't really bundle Damian's character development and how it affects them both in just one movie. The basics are that, in a way, they both humanize each other more by being around each other. It's kinda like the whole fatherly element of being a parent pushing someone to be a better person to set an example, while, with Damian, he has a break from his old lifestyle and is introduced to a new one. Damian being more "human" is why Bat-Cow is funnily important.
Really loving the character art design of that thing because it reminded me of every kids' storybook. The animation looks great and the comedic tone in this trailer really fits perfectly for a superhero Christmas special. I will give props to the animators who were involved with this, bravo to them.
He's a lovign father in the comics. He just isn't good at his own trauma but tries to keep others from experiencing trauma. (At least when not dealing with Zur An Ar.)

Golden era he was still a costumed crime fighting detective with dark murder centered stories, I think the era you're thinking of is the Silver age when comics were heavily censored for kid readers and so they had to get creative, its basically the era the Adam West show was based on, the days when Joker was just a prankster and Robin and Bats were the dynamic duo.

I watched this and it was so much fun to watch. Great refernces top humor that works for all ages and the realtionship between bruce and damian was super endearing.
This is super cute, I'm actually excited to see more about this. Finally, something Batman related that isn't excessively dark and edgy, it comes across so juvenile in it's execution sometimes it's like they forget it's supposed to be fun. This movie will hopefully be the perfect remedy for that!

For the heck of it, I decided to celebrate Christmas in July by watching this film today, and...I liked it a heck of a lot more than I thought I would! I already loved the art style when this was first announced, but the story is actually really dang good. 👍🏼
Ugh- I watched this and it is absolutely wonderful. A new Christmas classic for me, for sure. The entire feel of it has that 2010s Cartoon Network vibe like Adventure time or Regular Show. And then it has a dash of Chowder vibes. SPOILERS ALERT!!!!!!!!! Its overall very funny, and it tugs at those specific heartstrings of when kids are still young enough when theyre cute, but theyre kinda getting into that phase where they know too much, and they say really funny things. Obviously it's a comically animated movie, so you won't find too much dark humor in it, but there ARE really touching little concepts. For example: Damien is only 8, and he found this suit that Batman secretly made for him. Upon putting it on, he discovers that his dad has implanted an internal AI called Bat Dad into the suit- and it's bruce, helping Damian, like Jarvis helps Iron Man. Somewhere in the movie, he loses Bat Dad. So it does turn into this, albeit cutely animated, "Damian has to learn that the suit doesn't make him a hero" kind of struggle. And then the whole time, Damian gets to learn about all the dirty things that his dad has to get into while being Batman, and that it's not all sunshine and rainbows. I thought that was a funny little kid friendly way to write that weird little dynamic all little boys have with their fathers. When youre a kid, youre just constantly at ends with your father, then one day you start to age and see things the way he could see them.

Everyone in Gotham was given a Snickers and everything was good. This is a nice yet interesting change of pace.

SPOILERS ALERT!!!!!!!!!
Its overall very funny, and it tugs at those specific heartstrings of when kids are still young enough when theyre cute, but theyre kinda getting into that phase where they know too much, and they say really funny things. Obviously it's a comically animated movie, so you won't find too much dark humor in it, but there ARE really touching little concepts. For example: Damien is only 8, and he found this suit that Batman secretly made for him. Upon putting it on, he discovers that his dad has implanted an internal AI called Bat Dad into the suit- and it's bruce, helping Damian, like Jarvis helps Iron Man. Somewhere in the movie, he loses Bat Dad. So it does turn into this, albeit cutely animated, "Damian has to learn that the suit doesn't make him a hero" kind of struggle. And then the whole time, Damian gets to learn about all the dirty things that his dad has to get into while being Batman, and that it's not all sunshine and rainbows.
I thought that was a funny little kid friendly way to write that weird little dynamic all little boys have with their fathers. When youre a kid, youre just constantly at ends with your father, then one day you start to age and see things the way he could see them.
