To be fair, your DAD or family member being strict is different than a PROFESSIONAL on set at work in an authoritative position being inappropriate with women or girls or kids, saying bad words, overworking kids, manipulating, overly touching. I think when we say "toxic" especially in relation to the documentary.. uh...it was a lot more than just yelling.
Yes, but to a child it's not that much difference. An authoritative adult telling you to move and get in line or their will be hell to pay is way more scarier than a guy on set, clearly...since no one ever tried him or his profession.
Raven, you are one of my favorite people all time. You where my first concert, and one of my biggest role models as a kid. So thankful for you and your journey!
This was a terrible interview. I’m very disappointed in Raven, she was really making light of what Dan did and made it sound like the verbal abuse Dan showed was fine for the time. This is a serious matter and it’s so disrespectful to the survivors hearing the “excuses”.
On some level it was "fine for the time," since it's 20 years later, however what they were saying is they grew up with way worse than that, and no one called it verbal abuse, because back then it wasn't considered that. This is also not "making light of what Dan did," he was speaking from his own experience, he didn't know about those females writers on another show, or what Alexa went through...None of us Did, and all of these folks are still holding things from us...so to expect him or Raven to just lambaste makes no sense. The people who worked with Drake didn't even know what happened to him.

It seems very distasteful for him to come on to tell his story which is essentially that his parents were there for him and he didn’t have to worry about the trauma or issues that others have. What does this do to contribute to the conversation? This could’ve been a quick minute or two clip uploaded to his instagram or said on live. Not an entire empty episode. Truly it seems like this is just meant to say, “sucks it was you but it wasn’t me.”
So because he didn't experience trauma, he can't talk about it? Y'all are really weird! Both sides of the story are valid, it can help you understand how things changed and evolved, both good and bad. It shows you that there could've been some lucky ones (maybe due to his parents strong involvement on set). Things aren't just black and white
I think his experience actually and how blind he is and the response by Raven exemplified the misogyny of the industry. It wasn’t his experience because he wasn’t the target. Girls and women were the people Dan Schneider was inappropriate with and exploitative to. As is the case with many girls and women throughout Hollywood.

Alexa doesn’t know how to take in different perspectives. Hers is the only one she sees and if it isn’t the same or similar to hers then it isn’t valid in her opinion. You should value the opinions of more open minded individuals.
I think all Alexa wants is validation of her experience. I feel like if her fellow cast members would validate what happened to her and support her like she supports other stars would be nice. Validating and supporting her experience wouldn't invalidate someone else's.

She was so uninvolved she didn’t know what was up, a stranger knew in an instant.
No he was not. Drake fired his father, and Brian Peck got full access to Drake... did you watch the documentary. Chris said his father was constantly there and walked him to and from set, and when they wanted to talk to Chris.they talked to his father first. Drake said his Dad was gobe, his mother wasn't around, and she let Brian Peck pick him up, and take him to his house... Again... did you watch the documentary?
So he reached out to a celeb he had a connect with to use their platform to get some PR points, didn't really say all to much and didn't acknowledge or take accountability for it anyway. Then we jump to discussing parents (which I know need to take accountability in the matter) like dude, why don't you address anything people are actually asking you to take some accountability for?
There is no point to this honestly. Please lets not skirt the issues and problems that are so in our face its sickening. Childstars should not exist. This is terrible industry that not safe. Children should not be working to provide for their families.
Chris needs to watch the doc. In the doc it details how Drake Bell a “straight guy” was systematically raped and abused. It’s not a mark of honor or rite of passage or anything like that at all and any young people listening should be reporting these interactions without hesitation.
This is a very informative episode about child and teen actors and the whole process of how things really work and how they are supposed to work. Thank you very much.
This conversation seems somewhat disingenuous. Raven worked closely with Orlando Brown and Kyle Massey and look at how they both turned out. Chris claims his parents kept an eye on him on set but it doesn't explain why his brother turned out the way he did. It does not add up.
Ew. Justifying abuse by saying other spaces are abusive is gross. All abuse and toxic environments are worth looking into. He didn’t even watch the doc. He doesn’t understand how bad this makes him look
That's so Raven came out when I was 13 so I was around that age where I had a crush on Raven-Symone. I respect her sexuality but objectively she is still beautiful.
I always say learning and lessons come from everyone, anybody and any age. I am 51 soon to be 51 in about 2 weeks and I was terminated a year ago today and I was going to just work anywhere just because of the reasons you said. I have been good through god graces and I know I am not supposed to go back into the work world the same way. I love working with teens and families and know I am supposed to do something to help my community. I was looking at things lately like I have to find a “job” not because I’m struggling financially but because it is what I’m “supposed to be doing “ according to society. I need to really just focus on doing what I know I want to do and I know I will love my work. Because honestly I just don’t see me working at another job I don’t love. JUST SHARING.
Raven is gently correcting him she’s so gracious. Me on the other hand - it’s clear Chris didn’t watch the doc because under no circumstance is it ok to simulate sa physically on staff, humiliate female writers esp in traumatic fashion, force them to share 1 salary, and more. He dehumanized who he chose to. Hearing the stories of Kel and Lydia from Steve Harvey show, and so many more it’s unfortunate. @@TimmyTOnTheFly He said he didn't see anything harmful. So no he is not well educated on the issue. He had no clue what exactly was brought up in the doc!
He was there lol
He was in his own world, with parents looking out for him. He was blessed with the experience, as he should have. Like all the kids were supposed to. At least this person is saying he didn’t have a hurtful experience.
Its hard having a discussion about a documentary you didn't watch. He needs to watch it then come back and discuss it.
I truly believe he knew who he could bully and be inappropriate without recourse. Bullying and being treated like they were are never okay anywhere. Adults or kids. Especially foot fetish!
100%. Notice he never tried that with Miranda cosgrove, she was the star. He knew it. She also had supportive parents. Her parents didn’t throw her to the wolves like Amanda’s did.
Exactly. You can tell he was one of the bullies on the Zoey 101 set. He didn’t have a bad experience because he was the one causing it for others.
@@ChristmasMorning1995 There are videos from behind the scenes where she is uncomfortable.
Exactly predators know who to prey on
And I’m sorry this may be unpopular opinion but just my opinion. It’s like saying oh I dated that rapist, he didn’t do it to me. I didn’t notice anything. So I can’t speak on what I don’t know. A rapist is a rapist weather he did it to you or not that doesn’t change the person. Drake Bell was a victim.! people that were bullied on Zoey101 were victims. we need to make that the front fourth of the issue because if I had a good experience with somebody who did that to people I would no longer associate with that person or talk about the good times. It diminishes what the victims go through.
Raven remains professional and overall respectful. Love that about her!!❤
raven saying 'yall fine now right" sent me lol cuz it never ruined my childhood finding out she was gay if anything it made things make sense hahahaha
Same! It didn’t ruin anything for me even as an adult I rewatch all the seasons of that’s so raven and ravens home but I didn’t watch quiet on the set because I believe that would in fact ruin things for me
Chris’ moms public take on Dan and the documentary was shocking and disgusting. I’m surprised it wasn’t discussed even a little
That would be actual tea lol
If I knew Chris mother as well I would not sit and call that out on my podcast. I’ll just let my opinions stay in my head to avoid conflict. Raven has been in enough drama during “The View” and she probably didn’t touch base on it out of respect to his mom. If both of their families are cool then that could be a little difficult to discuss publicly not to mention putting Chris in that position could’ve been uncomfortable or embarrassing. I feel you tho 💯
That the parents should take some responsibility ? How is that disgusting. Yall people too trustworthy towards other people with children
It’s crazy how dismissive you’re being towards not mentioning Alexa at all- which proves her point that the cast was mean to her.
I remember meeting Chris and kyle massey’s grandma working at my school at the time. She was one of the best ladies I had ever met. Helped me in a time where I lost my own grandma. Having a great foundation makes great adults!
That’s so Raven was my absolute favorite show!! Raven was everything for me not in a creepy way but she motivated me so much in many ways! The fact she came out and is unapologetically herself is everything!! I love you Rae!!❤
No she didn’t. He did.
This was disappointing, almost like justifying the networks actions. And belittling Alexa Nicole’s story! And y’all agreed???
Because he’s saying her mom wasn’t a good parent I believe it
Thank you Raven and Kyle my family just watched this! We needed to hear this greatly appreciated 💯🥰
Blessings
he could've stayed home, everything he said could've been addressed in a tweet
I feel like he just wanted to be in the spot light since everyone is getting the attention
So, what did You want him to say?
@@ensabahnur3104nothing at all , especially cause he didn’t watch the documentary

I also am ready for all the stuff about Disney to come out. Because I’ve followed the stuff about Disney and Nick for years. I was literally in middle school or 5th grade(elementary).
I think when it comes to these industries and brands/companies that work specifically with children, it’s easy for it to be pushed to the side or glanced over.
Raven you never ruined my childhood when you came out. I was so in love with you!! lol you are still my biggest inspiration. I use to tell my mom Raven is like the big sister I never had. ❤😂 I still love you!!! You are an AWWSOME human being!
The way he started this video off by saying he didn’t even watch it. WILD lmao. Okkk
I cannot with him tiptoeing around all of what's happening here.
But he doesn't know what's happening, none of us do. There were 2 pedos in the doc, can you name them?
I love hearing Raven's thoughts on this subject. He should have watched the documentary if he was going around trying to get interviews about it.
"Y'all fine now right?" With the stale face😂🤣🤣. We will never not love you raven. Period.
Grateful for the content... swear I have to rewatch some of your older posts...but my wife and I enjoy you and Miranda's relationship and openness with your viewers❤
And you guys were right about what you were speaking on, becuase people are looking back at the old shows and seeing how not for nothing.. Dan and ppl like him used and abuse a lot of the kids.. and yes their young black male cast was miss treated or made to be viewed in another light (not so flattering)
I love how intellectual raven is she really open everything up that people wanna know and get down to thank you raven.♥️
I’m sorry this felt so disconnected from the doc - you didn’t mention Dan making Arian pour water on herself upside down while squeeling underage …
So you wanted him to mention a specific moment? Not even Drake?
He wasn’t there for that. He can only speak to what he was apart of
@@WDFilms25I think if you’re going to speak on child endangerment you should cover the actual topic - not like mention smaller other instances. Dan benefits from that kind of video clip
@@dominickjvlogs but literally that’s what the doc was about. these follow-up podcasts and interviews should be about that person experience in relations to the topic. Who are these people to speak on Ariana without her around. To speak in Jeanette to speak on Amanda. Let those people tell how they feel.
They aren’t there to talk about every specific incident detailed in the documentary. That’s what you watch the documentary for, genius. Plus, the clips of Ari are so widespread now that there is no need to mention them. I’m sure Ari is sick of people spreading and talking about such a humiliating moment in her life.
I'm glad he was able to share his experience and also not downplay anyone elses experience at the same time. Where he's basically saying, "I was a kid and I was doing as I was told." to as an adult he can look back now and say, "you know... that wasn't okay."
🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯
I love seeing Raven in a more personal light!! ❤
Not starting with "You know Raven had a crush on Janet Jackson, Janet if you see this..." Full little brother I'm telling! Energy
This was honestly stupid. Why is he conflating a toxic work environment with being chided at to do your duties. He really should have at least watched the f****** documentary. Not that it would change his experience but Chris seems to think his experience is universal... It's weird.
Raven and Miranda, I wanna join a Tea Time with the 2 of y'all. Cause sometimes I feel like there's a special place for me to fit in with y'all as my favourite married couples where I can get a laugh or have some good times with positive vibes. Even do a toast.
For the record Rae, you never ruined my childhood, you made it brighter than it really was. When you came out, you let a lot of people know that they were not alone as kids. 🦄🫶🏾
It brings another side of the conversation. Both sides matter.
Okay now that i finished. Them realizing things now that may have happened to their favorite characters' real human is what ruined their childhood. They remember laughing and smiling at someone who was hurting on the otherside of the screen. Though we all grew up together, looking back knowing they helped you navigate life in diff ways via TV while they were struggling is heartbreaking.
Also Raven, you being gay did not ruin our childhood. I feel like youve always held that "weight". Release that sis. I personally felt you gave both sides of the coin and i still sat, so i could see the future with you. We Cheetah Girled together. We Supernovad, we went back to revist Olivia! Also, i think Chris needs to go and watch the documentary.
I’m curious how Alexa Nikolas is gonna respond to this. I want to be open minded and listen to all sides of the table.
Probably downplaying his experience and state that it’s invaliding to her. No one else can ever have a different opinion apparently.
@@mentallygrowing247And when Kristin Herrera adamantly said that she did not bully Alexa, people called her a liar just because it didn’t line up with Alexa’s claims. People will validate stories that are actually true, not just stories Alexa says just because she can.

Disney channel and Nickelodeon crossover
Fun Fact: Chris was in the episode of TSR where Cody Linley peer-pressured Cory into shoplifting.
What many fail to realize is this : Dan was not into the black kid’s, the same as he was the white kids. So his skin color saved him from being victimized.

Raven telling Chris to go clean his nose was hilarious!
The Nickelodeon dude just felt like he was making excuses...
Give these child stars a platform to speak there truth even if youre not ready tp speak yours yet raven ❤️❤️ lets get even deeper now👀

Why would he not watch the documentary before talking about all this
Thank you for talking about “for me it’s not toxic” like even when it may truly be net bad for me I might have been neutral or even enjoyed the experience before weighing its impact
Raven, you coming out made my childhood better!
I hate how she keeps cutting u off and the look raven gives her every time takes em out 😂 I get her frustration I do that to my sisters when we’re talking love you guys
He’s the first guest to hold that cup in a way that allows us to see what it is .
Y’all said a whole lot without saying much but just enough. As a girl mom who was once a girl , I thank you. 🎭
As someone who’s listened to all of your music, I would love to hear that song
My favorite show from back then will always be that so raven ❤
why would you not watch the doc before coming on? Get on the same page as everyone else
Why did you guys even have him on? He doesn't have a clue. Honestly, it's shameful on both sides. Also, Kyle Massey is also a child predator? The whole family dynamic is effed.
I don't know but he's perfect there is no point of him being there that it was a bunch of nothing because honestly I thought he was going to redeem himself and his brother
What is he addressing again? Because I’m confused you’re talking about your experience when the documentary was about other people getting abused
He starred on one of the shows that was featured in the documentary.
@lareishere you r just jealous of their relationship. This was a beautiful conversation and display of how close they r still today
Drake Bells Father was on set ! So what’s his point ? Watch the documentary
Drake father was on set n he did his job good that they basically ball ball him basically. when the mom took over the job she job don’t let drake be alone with this dude and first she did was say that too far he can take u.
She was so uninvolved she didn’t know what was up, a stranger knew in an instant.
Drake’s mom was the problem. His dad told the mom not to leave him alone with Brian and she still did.
What would he be taking accountability for? He didn't do anything.
I would have kept this in the vault.
Not Raven looking uncomfortable at the mention of Kyle Massey...oops 😬
There is no point to this honestly. Please lets not skirt the issues and problems that are so in our face its sickening. Childstars should not exist. This is terrible industry that not safe. Children should not be working to provide for their families.
I didn’t get the David Henrie reference that Christopher and Raven laughed about.
13:52 😂 exactly! thank you, Raven ❤
They couldnt edit out the part where raven told him to go to the bathroom and clean his nose? thats so embarrassing tf
They probably thought it was cute or funny 🤢 just made the podcast feel like a low-quality production which I’m guessing it is
i think chris asked for raven to keep that in the video because he thought it was funny (you can kinda hear him say it in the video) but i agree
I appreciate raven stearing the conversation
I want to see Quiet on Set: Disney Edition
For your entertainment? I'm sure a lot of people don't want to relive certain traumas
u didnt watch the doc..this feels lie a nothing burger....im happy u had a good experience, not all abusers abuse all ppl.
Such an important subject, child actors NEED to be protected. The audio was pretty low and echo-y though, didn't sound like the mics were turned on.
We need all the Cheetah Girls on this podcast , and also Lynn Whitfield 🥺
Ready to hear Raven story!!
Who from modern family was raven talking about?
Ariel winter
Why even ask to be on the show to speak on the doc if you didnt even watch it...
Because apparently her and her wife are the only one that watched it on the video (this video) 😂😭
HOW HAS HE NOT WARCHED the DOCUMENTARY 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠
Raven you make my childhood awesome!
I feel like Raven was trying to educate Michael on the situation while validating his experiences as well she did a good job of politely disagreeing
Even if your experience was good, you shouldn’t invalidate someone else’s. Prayers for Amanda Bynes and everyone else who dealt with Dan :(
