    • @JGibbies
      @JGibbies 9 месяцев назад

      @@sierragibson3131 Yes! The document is a divorce; so it includes all money, possessions, etc. that each spouse is entitled to after divorce. The ex-husband's attorney used a lot of legal jargon, so not plain language for Alexa to understand. Because Alexa was not represented by an attorney, I believe the husband's attorney weaponized that and used a lot of language that was confusing to the average person.
      However, in that document, the attorney snuck in a section that basically stated that Alexa is giving away her right to sue her ex-husband for the sexual abuse (also potentially any claims of pedophilia because they met online and started dating before 18). This section was probably not clear and the average person probably didn't understand that they were giving that right away.
      So, years later, a California statute got passed that temporarily allowed sexual abuse victims to sue their abusers civilly regardless of when that incident took place because the statute of limitations was temporarily lifted. Alexa decided to sue her ex-husband for the sexual abuse. She did not have $$ for a lawyer, so she used a pro-bono lawyer (lawyer for free). The lawyers read the document and realized that she gave her right away without knowing she did. That made the case more complicated and because the lawyers were pro-bono, they needed more resources & money, so they couldn't continue representing her.
      I hope that makes sense now!

      I mean if the rumors are true then Jamie was getting graped by Dan schnieder, and probably her friend too by someone. Alexa wasn't directly involved in that. Sometimes the worst girl bullies are getting bullied by grown ass men, at least it was true for my friends in elementary school. Sad as hell.

      She played one of the most popular characters that everyone liked. I think deep down Jamie KNEW that Zoey was a dull character and that her acting skills were on the weak side (I wasn’t a fan of the show, I just saw a few clips here and there.). I think she felt threatened that Alexa could steal her cloud.

This felt really healing for her and was nice to see her be able to confide in someone like a friend, even if they did just meet. It’s likely that my preferred style of content leans more towards two friends having a chat vs talking head reporting/commentary, but the girls really made an amazing episode here!

    I know I've said this in a ton of episodes, but I can't say enough that this was definitely Trish's calling. She does SUCH an amazing job interviewing her guests and LISTENING to them and just letting them tell their stories. My biggest pet peeve with podcasts is when the host constantly cuts off their guests and talks over them and talks MORE than them. You can tell that Trish is GENUINELY interested in what her guests have to say. And I've seen Alexa on quite a few podcasts now, the first one I ever seen with her was Let's Get Into It with Sloan. It was the first time I heard her full story. I feel so bad for the things that she (and many others) endured as a child. And even as an adult with her ex-husband. I can relate to her on so many levels, when it comes to that. What she's doing now is truly amazing and I just KNOW that she'll help with the change this world needs!!

    I remember as a kid being very upset when Nicole didn’t return in the third season and I always thought it was strange so when Alexa came forward all those years after, it in a weird way validated my inner child‘s feelings?? I hated how they closed her character out. I loved her because I was that bubbly girl. Now knowing that she was bullied and made fun of for being that smiley girl (and I was too) makes me really proud of her for standing her ground and leaving the show.

    People have always been so critical of the bizarre or “crazy” behavior of adult child actors. We added on to their trauma as a society in a lot of ways because we didn’t have constant entertainment back then and people cared way too much what people did. It’s so great to finally shine a light on the trauma and exploitation of minor actors/stars. We are finally in a place in society where we know objectively wrong things aren’t acceptable anymore. I mean who recently has come up to tabloids\paparazzi with the same ire and fervor as Amanda Bynes or Lindsey Lohan or Britney Spears. Thank goodness

    When I was a kid I clearly remember how hard Nickelodeon pushed Jamie Lynn Spears. When they added her to All That, they ran commercials and promos non stop. Then when they made Zoey101 they pushed that even harder. And Jamie Lynn wasn’t what Nickelodeon promised in my opinion. Looking back now it’s so clear what a huge brat she was then, and how awful she still is now. It’s even more clear to me that Jamie Lynn is a terrible person after Britneys book came out. This girl was a victim of both Schneider and Jamie Lynn and I’m glad she is standing up for herself and telling her story
