Minimum wage is supposed to be the minimum income it takes to LIVE. Which used to mean: driving a car, having a home, having a modest wedding, having a child or two, and being able to feed your family and live your life without scraping by day to day. How much Trish talks about feeding hungry kids makes me really happy that they touched on this topic, though I wish they went a little deeper into it. Many children in Canada and the US are living hungry and impoverished lives because the minimum wage no longer meets the minimum requirements for living
AND the boomers sit pretty with their paid for education, full retirement that they got at 55, and collect ss benefits that WE pay for and will probably never receive when we get there and somehow THEY'RE the only ones complaining about minimum wage going up. I'm 34 and have been working full time jobs for 20 years now and will NEVER be able to retire, buy a home, buy a new vehicle, or further my education. And it's not because I don't work hard. I work 40 hours weeks at 18 dollars an hour in a double income household and STILL can't pay all my bills without going without meals or not buying anything for myself. Minimum wage should be 20 an hour everywhere. I said what I said.
minimum wage is so teenagers can work and small businesses are able to stay afloat. obviously most teens don’t need to pay for a house or car since they are supported by their parents, and small businesses cannot afford to pay high wages. a minimum wage job is not for an adult with regular living expenses. it doesn’t make sense to equate minimum wage to a living wage when a huge portion of the workforce does not necessarily need a living wage.

There’s a glitch in the CDJ system where when you beat-match a track with something twice the BPM, it automatically matches (doubles) instead of setting to the closest perfect ratio. Grimes most likely practiced on a different CDJ system without the glitch and when she plugged her tracks in she wasn’t prepared for that to happen. This has happened to me multiple times but it’s always random so I feel for her you could tell she was embarrassed:(

Dj here. About grimes set. There’s a glitch in the CDJ system where when you beat-match a track with something twice the BPM, it automatically matches (doubles) instead of setting to the closest perfect ratio. Grimes most likely practiced on a different CDJ system without the glitch and when she plugged her tracks in she wasn’t prepared for that to happen. This has happened to me multiple times but it’s always random so I feel for her you could tell she was embarrassed:(
