Why and how do fire's appear that the firefighter is fighting?

Usually it’s a situation that they fear will overwhelm your system. They put out the fire of pain with a misdirection or shutdown.

Hi! :) I just saw that no one has responded to your comment yet so I thought this might help: I think of the fire as the triggers that stem from unresolved emotional pain/traumatic experiences that were at one time too much for your nervous system to handle, leaving parts of you stuck in survival mode. Your body has remembered that survival response (that is still seeking resolution) so now every time you encounter a similar situation, a firefighter part might step in to protect you at all cost from re-experiencing that pain.
So the exact mechanism of how and why a fire has developed the way it has, is very specific to your individual experience but that’s the general mechanism behind it, as far as I understand it. Maybe you can ask your firefighter part(s) next time you do an IFS session - I’m sure they have something valuable to share with you :) Also looking into topics like nervous system regulation, somatic trauma healing/somatic experiencing and polyvagal theory might help to understand this on a deeper level if this has resonated with you.
      wishing you all the best!
