I haven’t tried her canned coffee, but her coffee grounds and beans are good imo, they have good flavor and come in a lot of different tastes. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s pretty :)
Eveything I know about Emma is second-hand, but I'm pretty sure her decline boils down to being relatable, then rising to a point where she wasn't anymore. You can't pretend that your fans are your peers when you're at the Met Gala, and own a whole company
I'm brazilian but very immersed in North American content creators - as a method of maintaining my contact with English, which is my second language. I had never heard of Emma C. until she showed up to her first met gala and I was like "who is this?" I didn't know her relevance; which, to be honest, isn't much, beyond her bubble.
@@dasilvalara188 It's not a "bubble", it's demographics. Despite being ranked world number 1 tennis player, the vast majority of Americans never heard of Jannik Sinner, yet American brand Nike offered him a 150M USD deal. They were willing to invest so much on him despite him being unkown to the masses because, to a specific targeted group of tennis enthousiasts, he is an extremely relevant ambassador. Emma is a female American GenZ youtuber, it make sense someone from a different country or a different generation wouldn't necessarily know about her. To her demographic, which is Genz American girls, she's probably the most relevant influencer, and that's why so many brands have worked with her.
I think people hate someone who gets things they can not have or doesnt have access to. It's problematic. Emma didn't have any problems or big scandals like the other ones did. She just became rich due to her work for nearly a decade. Of course, she wouldn't understand regular struggles anymore because she found her way. It's dumb tbh
I think this is true but only for celebs who are marketed as being relatable. I think what actually appeals us to most celebs is the fact they’re not relatable and have/do things we can’t do. We like to live subconsciously through them I mean how many of us listened to some band and danced pretending we were a part of them 😂 we love seeing that side of life that to us will never be a reality. But what you said makes perfect sense regarding internet celebrities who are specifically famous for being ‘normal’ and relatable because once they do earn/own things normal people can’t then their main quality has gone out the window. None of this probably makes sense I’m a rambler 😂
I honestly still love her very much. She went from a teenager to a now growing adult. It is okay that she became less relatable because it is inevitable now that she became older and richer (we, her fans made her rich af). Nevertheless, I agree with your statement that her coffee is too expensive because me, myself is a young adult who wants to buy her coffee so bad but can't afford it. I love her because she puts so much heart in the things that she is doing (chamberlain coffee's aesthetic is good!)
Being an influencer doesn’t translate to good business. Times are tough who has extra cash for luxury anymore? Plus people are starting to hate famous rich people.
this might be an unpopular opinion, but I love seeing relatable ppl become non-relatable bc it means their hard work paid off, as long as she's happy and true to her real personality she doesn't have to try being relatable anymore, if anything she could serve as an inspiration for many ppl.
Zoe! Have you heard of the Matilda Djerf situation? I think having your take on this, especially from a marketing/PR perspective would be very interesting.
I don’t understand. The brand will inevitably change and lose some audience. As the Zoe said in the very end of the video, they just need to change the supply techniques introducing their brands in the supermarkets. Also, I am happy that Emma is out of touch with her audience. It’s inevitable for a human being to change. She makes good money now and she has become an adult, I hope everyone just moves on and sees the new Emma.
The idea of making yourself a product and only caring about being profitable sounds like a miserable time. It's more insincere trying to force yourself into the box people want you to than anything. I hope she doesn't try to become relatable to people.
Maybe it’s because I was never a fan of her- she seems like a nice person just not on my radar for content. But I think it’s ridiculous to expect someone to remain the exact same as they grow. ESPECIALLY between being a teen and early 20s so much shifts then. She still seems to have her genuine personality. She’s just successful and thriving on something she built. Her parents didn’t hand it to her. She earned it. Is that not what we should want for others? For ourselves?
Sorry but it’s not marketing for this. This was a poor business. Coffee brands have had steady decline for years not to mention shortages, there was no way she was making money because of the exorbitant background fees. It was never going to be profitable. Not to mention Millennials still have the money.. You over estimate the it girl factor, as a millennial, I don’t give a crap about her and her coffee. Her audience is not diverse enough in age and income bracket to sustain her brand. Starbucks is having issues with sales..so what makes her think she is special enough to buck market trends…make it make sense. Her brand can not be saved as is,her best course of action is to sell a portion of her brand to Starbucks or Tim Horton etc, and let them license her name, this will help reduce overhead while enabling her brand diversification.
My two cents as a latte loving Emma Chamberlain stan -- my coffee loyalty was already pledged to a local roaster before I knew who she was, and no amount of cute packaging will change that. The thing she makes me want to buy, is clothes. But not clothes like hers necessarily. She inspires me to discover and experiment.
ADORE your channel! Marketing and branding has always been a weird thing I LOVE and know about but do nothing with. You DO something with your interest and knowledge AND it’s entertaining af!! Thanks!!
I was shocked when I saw her on a Lancôme ad the other day. I genuinely don’t get the hype. I used to watch her when she was a teenager and she was pretty relatable back then but not anymore. I mean how can she be? The girl doesn’t even check her bank account. She seems nice and sweet but even listening to her podcast.. it’s just a normal girl talking like there is nothing that special about her. I don’t understand where all her success is even coming from because she doesn’t even do much except go to events and do a podcast once a week or so.
I think bc even if she isn’t in the same tax bracket as most girls, she has the personality where white female teens and young adults can still see themselves as her. It’s not that she’s super talented, she just has a personality that attracts a certain type of people. It’s the same reason why Taylor Swift is so successful. She may be super rich but that aspect of her life isn’t intergrated into her brand, she still has a girl or woman next door appeal, she’s talented but not to the point where she doesn’t seem « human » or simply could not be regular(like MJ or Beyoncé) and her writing style is confessional mostly with her personality but not too specific so people can still relate. Emma chamberlain is like the Taylor swift of RUclips. I wouldn’t be surprise if they have crossover in their audiences. She’s got a little bit of weird enough to be entertaining but because she isn’t like this once in a generation talent she ends up feeling like a friend to her audience even if she isn’t in the same tax bracket anymore. It’s like having a rich friend that went to university with you. She’s what I call average aspirational. She’s « that girl is just like me and now she’s made it so maybe I can » That’s her appeal, it doesn’t work on everyone as I would say I casually watching her once a year or so but I see why people like it.
Well, I would love to think of it that you graduated from her content. Sure she was fun to use as a kid but not as an adult since you grew out of her. Celebrities rarely have proper maturity really since they don’t like the average person life or struggle so really you just move on once it gets boring and hop into another person or content style that suits your growth.
Any coffee snob can take one look at the coffee beans and figure out why that business is tanking. No single origins, just a bunch of blends that are as or more expensive than single origins from renowned roasting companies. All canned lattes taste pretty bad and WHY would the only option be a 24 pack. Signature coffee is named cake batter? This isn't Coldstone.
I'm probably too old as a Millennial but I have never understood why Emma Chamberlain blew up and got so big. I understood literally everyone else but not her. It's like everyone uniformly deciding beige is their favourite colour.... wait...
I'm too old for Emma.. but, i guess my question would be, "Can someone who experiences/d wealth and fame (especially at a young age) ever remain who they had been?" I don't think so. What do you think?
considering she amassed wealth at such a young age, i don't think there is an old self to return to. she was a kid who became rich and eventually independent (which is where i think most people develop their real personalities/identities but im no expert) and now an adult who is rich.
Another factor here is that coffee is a bad business in general. My family comes from a country that produces coffee and the strangest thing to me living in the US is that coffee bars like Starbucks charge so much money for a product that costs nothing to make at home. A bag of basic but good grounds like Bostello costs less than 5 dollars and the other product to make a good cup of coffee is literally water. Growing up it cost $1 at the corner store and they still don't charge much more than that for a cup while "barista" brands are charging anywhere from $4-7 dollars for a sugary lotte. Its literally one of the best scams in the westernized world.
They charge more because of the background fees in making coffee as well as branding. Starbucks has the market cornered on "luxury" coffee. Yeah it isn't actually luxury and pretty average (if not outright awful depending on the barista), but that is how they originally marketed themselves so their prices are going to be higher. However, if a coffee price is high in the US you are either paying for the brand (Starbucks or Chamberlain Coffee), or you are paying for the skills of the barista. Extremely good coffee from small shops require them to shell out more money for better beans and being able to pay that barista's wage so higher price. We can buy Bostello in most supermarkets where I live in the US as well. At most you are going to pay $5 for it, but everyone knows that if you are going to buy coffee anywhere outside of a cafeteria you are probably going to have to shell out more for it.
@ I agree with you but there are mass marketed quality coffee that can be bought dirt cheap. I live in NYC and the most ironic thing about gentrification are coffee shops. Why? Because they open specialty coffee shops in immigrant neighborhoods that make coffee at home. Me living in my Brooklyn neighborhood was a clear sign that speciality coffee shops are a limited business. A Starbucks venti latte can be upwards of $7. Blue bottle charges that much for DRIP coffee 😱. You don’t even need a coffee maker. In South America and the Caribbean, you make the best coffee in a regular pot and run it through muslin. Starbucks was initially genius to mass market this but then they have suffered poor earnings in the last 1-2 years.
HOLD UP. I'm 33 years old. What is the issue here? She grew up now, and she is still maturing. She is very young, and for her age, she is very wise with her role in the company. The first era of her videos and YT success was her super young personality. Now, she doesn't strive to be the IT girl. Au contraire - she wants the exact opposite. Hailey Beiber and Sofia Grainge chase the IT girl vibe. Question - why can't someone be famous and relatable at the same time when doing mundane activities? When you wake up in the morning and make coffee, you are the same level of tired whether you are rich or not. :D Also, 29$ for a tin of matcha is not expensive, for organic and ceremonial, everyone who drinks quality matcha knows this. Plus, coffee and matcha ARE actually repetitive products, not one-off purchases. However, yes, loyalty is hard to achieve. Additionally, why would her strategy be mass market, and not more niche? :) We don't know that at this point. Another question - do you have any cold numbers on the profitability of the company? Would love to have links to relevant articles and info sources (instead of endless Amazon affiliate links). :) The one thing I do agree on is the longevity of the brand (with her name on it) once she is not in the picture anymore. This is tricky indeed. p.s. friendly advice, the RUclips award and marketing diploma sitting next to you - maybe you don't need this to show your credibility. It reminds of the Bee Better dude...
Hot take but I don't get her vibe. I personally wouldn't call her pretty but maybe I'm missing something. She's got the thin thing going for her but beyond that... well I dunno. She seems kinda plain ngl Flame me but its my opinion.
CAN YOU BELIEVE RUclips HID this new release for 7 minutes?!??!?!?! how dare youtube. Amazing, we need more more more more. You're such a hot brain and a babe af < 3
I just don’t understand the hate for those saying “she’s not relatable anymore, I don’t like her”. you can’t expect someone that has been making content for years and that it has worked for them to stay relatable, what was she supposed to do decline the brand deals?? I don’t think that the actual people saying that they don’t like her anymore would have ahah, this is just funny to me, I think even tho she has reached a great position she is still the same personality as the beginning just way more adult and with fame, but never the less Emma
I was at 7/11 the other day- I needed coffee but Food Lion is too far. But I was looking and saw Green Day has coffee too?! I guess coffee is gonna be the new energy drink or alcohol for “influencers and celebrities” to start hocking to the public?! sigh.

so funnily enough i bought my bf the limited pumpkin spice run of chamberlain coffee bc i love finding new brands for him to try to see the types of autumn blends he likes the best- i dont drink coffee but my way of showing love in our ldr is buying him the new blends if i have the money and I know hes running low I had no clue that there was an influencer behind it i just saw the cute animals and went huh, lets give this a try and see how he likes it
I absolutely loved this video! THIS is what I have been looking for - reviewing a person’s business portfolio, getting into the data and technicalities, as well brainstorming new strategies for the person that we can learn from. Honestly, with Emma’s change in brand and status, she may be better off marketing to people who are coffee connoisseurs and willing to pay the extra buck for a high quality coffee bean (hello, professional millennials) or as you said, “the people who buy coffee but don’t know about Emma’s coffee”. Thank you so much for sharing your work with us, it does teach me a lot.
i always love your videos. Once again you introduced me to someone I knew nothing about but now understand so much more about the cultural responses of that time period. Great video!
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS SO MUCH! I REALLY LIKE FASHION AND BEAUTY THINGS! But to be honest, as 15 years old, I don't follow beauty standards or anything like that, I'm just enjoyimg my young life as long as I have it :) ❤
Saw another commenter that said Emma chamberlain is Gen Zs Alexa Chung. If you are a melinnial you will remember her strange , seemingly undeserved, quirky girl rise to fame. I think both of their downfall was inevitable because people are harder on women who aren't super attractive. I like Emna and Alexa because they are normal looking women, like myself. Minimal surgery if any, natural length of hair, under eye bags 😂 people pretend they like that kind of stuff but in the back of their head i think they feel like Emma isn't pretty enough to be where she is in the fashion industry and they don't feel like she deserves it or earned it because her looks arent perfect. Few will say that though!
Lol my husband brought me Chamberlain Coffee once as I was out of my usual Lavazza. I had no idea there was an person behind the brand. It was good but not worth switching over Lavazza. It's the only coffee I'm willing to drink black if need be, which is big coming from someone who L❤VES cream.
I love your channel, your delivery and packaging. It’s entertaining, clever, informative, and makes me leave with a deeper understanding of generally light “pop culture” topics I would not have previously thought so much about
I actually love her coffee brew bags. They're tasty, and uniquely convenient to make. I think she expanded the coffee brand too fast with products that aren't very good (like canned lattes, matcha, and weird flavor blends). When she started it was good but she went too far too fast. The beans also don't taste as good as they once did. Idk what happened.
i read on trustpilots that her customer service team sucks, she needs to look into that, and also some people say that the flavours are bad so maybe she should come with more variety for people who have a preference for sweet flavours over bitter coffee
It annoys me how her fans dislike her just because she became successful. It speaks more about the immaturity of her fans then it does her. Emma is talented and worked hard (of course with some luck too), and her old fans just complain that shes "out of touch" to feel better about themselves. Like why is it annoying to you that shes successful. Shes still a hard worker even if it takes a different form then your work. idk thats my hot take
I’m the person who is a fan of specialty coffee and could (and spend every month) 20-30 euro for good quality pack of a beans. And of course I wouldn’t spend money for celebrity (merch) coffee because I’m already known it could be shitty product, maybe in reality it’s ok but I don’t even want to try
Totally, i believe that she was no one but a white girl with a rich background and people went crazy over her for absolutely doing nothing. I have heard many people talk about her editing style tho.
I heard about her but never saw anything really (and probably bc I simply am not into her type of content). I didn’t know that she was that successful and maybe that is a problem, like, random people not recognizing anything in her (not bc she doesn’t have it, bc it doesn’t sell to the random people)
she gained a following for being a "relatable teen girl" but not many people can relate to the glitz and glam anymore. she is very much out of touch nowadays
bought from her coffee brand before back in 2022. The mug broke, the colored straws wore off and the tumblr didn´t kept my coffee warm. never orderd there again
Loved the video! You should talk about Lena situation, a French RUclipsr who took the world by storm with her relatability and her channel still grows after 10 years on RUclips. 😊
The reason her coffee brand is failing is because theyre targeting a mainstream audience when the brand only appeals to Emma's followers. the random middle aged coffee lover is not going to try a gen Z "it girl" coffee out of sympathy. No ampunt of marketing will change this. Furthermore, people buy consumer goods for taste and price not because they like people. Mr beast candy whatever probably has the same problem. Generally, People dont care about influencers as much as you are presuming and they especially dont care when theyre grocery shopping. They just want affordable products they trust and are consistent in quality. If the general consensus is also that her coffee doesnt taste that good, then the brand would only fall from here... The problem isn't branding it's product market fit...
Amazing video-essay Zoeunlimited! Thank you for once again presenting to-the-point an interesting issue. May 2025 bring you only HAPPINESS!! Love from Athens - Greece ❤
I was shocked that nobody addressed it in the comments. I think as a former employee and marketing bestie she needs to address honey from marketing perspective.
Ever since that whole merch drama thing I have avoided anything Emma. I used to love her vids back when she was relatable, she even got me to drink coffee again. Not her coffee, but just coffee in general lmfao, I aint touching that garbage.
Sí está difícil, me pregunto si ella fuera de Colombia, México o algún otro país cafetero, ¿vendería más café? Por ejemplo no soy colombiana pero el café de ese país me gusta muchísimo :)
Funnily enough, I actually ended up liking Emma Chamberlain more than I used to. I was never really a fan of hers, but I think it's unfair how her audience expects her to be the exact same person she was several years ago. From what I've seen, she doesn't brag about her new lifestyle nor try to promote herself as relatable; she just...is. The outage about her seems a little misdirected, especially since she hasn't been anything other than herself
this is the first video of yours i've ever seen and i immediately subscribed, i love the way you arrange your thoughts and how i can tell you clearly know what you're talking about and your confidence in the statements
I think the canned lattes would be a good main product. The selling point could be that they're good on the go, and are easy to take anywhere or smth. Anyways, thanks for the video!
I think yall are just jealous of the fact that a once relatable introvert youtuber gained so much success. I cannot relate to her now but I love love love watching her videos and seeing how much she grew and gained. Stop trying bringing her down, I used to watch your videos zoe but now it just seems like you are trying to get views by bringing other people down

Zoe is working hard, so many videos lately and all very well done. Congrats ❤
Also, 29$ for a tin of matcha is not expensive, for organic and ceremonial, everyone who drinks quality matcha knows this.
The one thing I do agree on is the longevity of the brand (with her name on it) once she is not in the picture anymore.
She seems kinda plain ngl
Flame me but its my opinion.
That's the thing that makes her stand out her beauty is very standard like any other girl. As for my opinion she looks amazing when dolled up.
i think that's what added to her sense of relatability that fans felt, the fact that she looked like any average person
It’s sad because people want to put someone in a box and keep them there.
They will always be watching even if they claim to not like you anymore
CAN YOU BELIEVE RUclips HID this new release for 7 minutes?!??!?!?! how dare youtube. Amazing, we need more more more more. You're such a hot brain and a babe af < 3
ZOE YOU ARE MY FAVOURITE PODCASTER TO WATCH
btw crazy how in 1minute the views jumped from 6 to 134
Much luvvv💜
I guess coffee is gonna be the new energy drink or alcohol for “influencers and celebrities” to start hocking to the public?! sigh.
I don't drink coffee that much because for some reason it gives more stress
i think green day founded a coffee company or a cafe almost a decade ago it's not new

so funnily enough i bought my bf the limited pumpkin spice run of chamberlain coffee bc i love finding new brands for him to try to see the types of autumn blends he likes the best- i dont drink coffee but my way of showing love in our ldr is buying him the new blends if i have the money and I know hes running low
I had no clue that there was an influencer behind it i just saw the cute animals and went huh, lets give this a try and see how he likes it
I learn so much by your videos .. I love them !!
14:44 I love Emma forever and don’t like coffee that much. I don’t care about any of this. Emma for life. The end. ❤❤❤❤❤
You def are one of the top girl bosses!! ❤❤
The most unique channel on the Tube🤙🏼
Thank you, Zoe🤍
I absolutely loved this video! THIS is what I have been looking for - reviewing a person’s business portfolio, getting into the data and technicalities, as well brainstorming new strategies for the person that we can learn from. Honestly, with Emma’s change in brand and status, she may be better off marketing to people who are coffee connoisseurs and willing to pay the extra buck for a high quality coffee bean (hello, professional millennials) or as you said, “the people who buy coffee but don’t know about Emma’s coffee”.
Thank you so much for sharing your work with us, it does teach me a lot.
I don’t think anyone wants to think of burps and gas alongside their coffee. Ew
1:20 I don't know who she is but just here, I'm very impressed with her. I'm thinking she's cool for achieving all that at a young age.
i always love your videos. Once again you introduced me to someone I knew nothing about but now understand so much more about the cultural responses of that time period. Great video!
Well I’m confused because your

I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS SO MUCH! I REALLY LIKE FASHION AND BEAUTY THINGS! But to be honest, as 15 years old, I don't follow beauty standards or anything like that, I'm just enjoyimg my young life as long as I have it :) ❤
Never heard of her until today
Okay
It’s okay
The cold brew bags should be her winner product. They’re so good and (at least in Europe) not available from many brands
the branding worked on me because I bought the silver and black metal straws and the frother because of the coffee aesthetic about 4 years ago
It's the only coffee I'm willing to drink black if need be, which is big coming from someone who L❤VES cream.
which Lavazza would you recommend because I am switching from starbucks.
How about you stop being a haterrr, does it ever get tiring??
I love your channel, your delivery and packaging. It’s entertaining, clever, informative, and makes me leave with a deeper understanding of generally light “pop culture” topics I would not have previously thought so much about
This was so entertaining
I actually love her coffee brew bags. They're tasty, and uniquely convenient to make. I think she expanded the coffee brand too fast with products that aren't very good (like canned lattes, matcha, and weird flavor blends). When she started it was good but she went too far too fast. The beans also don't taste as good as they once did. Idk what happened.
i read on trustpilots that her customer service team sucks, she needs to look into that, and also some people say that the flavours are bad so maybe she should come with more variety for people who have a preference for sweet flavours over bitter coffee
I love learning about marketing trough your videos!
Someone smarter than the entire fan base
Yeah I wouldn’t if I were you you’re not missing out
I see what they mean when they say Gen Z is ageing like milk...
2:33 not the ai taylor swift face 😭😭
I would love to hear you talk about SimplyNailLogical Cristine and her brand Holo Taco ✨💕
it was my first time watching you and i loved this video enough to stay tuned. Great work sis!!!
Totally, i believe that she was no one but a white girl with a rich background and people went crazy over her for absolutely doing nothing. I have heard many people talk about her editing style tho.
in love with this series zoe dont ever stop it!!!!!!!!!!!!
it was bound to happen and its going to keep happening
I heard about her but never saw anything really (and probably bc I simply am not into her type of content). I didn’t know that she was that successful and maybe that is a problem, like, random people not recognizing anything in her (not bc she doesn’t have it, bc it doesn’t sell to the random people)
she gained a following for being a "relatable teen girl" but not many people can relate to the glitz and glam anymore. she is very much out of touch nowadays
Omg yes thank u
Your videos are amazing ❤
bought from her coffee brand before back in 2022. The mug broke, the colored straws wore off and the tumblr didn´t kept my coffee warm. never orderd there again
Bish I loved this video, great work
I wanna see zoe cover holotaco 👀
I just can't stand how you try to make yourself the focal point. Just deliver the information and get your attention elsewhere
right like i think she might be stupid
2:00 you might want to remove that ‘honey’ from your background if you dont want further criticism, marketing bestie
2:09*
Love u ❤❤
My favorite RUclipsr ❤❤❤
Madre mía, deberías cobrar a toda esta gente por los consejos que les das

I was shocked that nobody addressed it in the comments. I think as a former employee and marketing bestie she needs to address honey from marketing perspective.
I NEED MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS
I would love to see you cover lady gaga at some point!
I loved low-key and old Emma. The new emma is still good but its not the same
Growing up you cannot be the same as your previous version .. that’s pure logic hahah she is an adult person now
See I've heard such good things about One Size products, either the setting spray or the mascara, and I didn’t even know it was Patrick Starr's brand!
You know your stuff Zoe. Really good video!
Ever since that whole merch drama thing I have avoided anything Emma. I used to love her vids back when she was relatable, she even got me to drink coffee again. Not her coffee, but just coffee in general lmfao, I aint touching that garbage.
It's no difference than Nescafe
Sí está difícil, me pregunto si ella fuera de Colombia, México o algún otro país cafetero, ¿vendería más café? Por ejemplo no soy colombiana pero el café de ese país me gusta muchísimo :)
This is great!

I think yall are just jealous of the fact that a once relatable introvert youtuber gained so much success. I cannot relate to her now but I love love love watching her videos and seeing how much she grew and gained. Stop trying bringing her down, I used to watch your videos zoe but now it just seems like you are trying to get views by bringing other people down
Damn this was so engaging 🎉
