Not gonna lie, I actually forgot like the whole plot till I stumbled upon it 2 years ago, on a wiki page whilst looking thru Cars characters. I loved it again, have watched it and scenes about twice, etc. Yes, people can have opinions, however I do actually have an explanation behind the (in quotes) 'spy incompetent/stupidity': One is in love, the other, in almost inconsolable grief. Both are hiding it. (I am delving into thought processes now, silly me.) Also the one in complete grief is a James Bond parody and has the voice of Roger Moore, done by a costar who Moore interacted with in a non-Bond movie. I actually LOVE this quirk, Cars 2 makes me pleased. But it turns off other people, mainly because of the overly bright-n-violent vibes. Also the PG rating doesn't fit it (it's perfectly fine; shoulda been PG13 imo). Relatable....however it's a lot better than Happy Feet (I HATE the OG Happy Feet). At least, for me, the Fall Out Boy reference in Acer and the entire James Bond parody in BOTH Mater and Finn McMissile is a lot better than watching a movie about singing penguins pulling stupidly aimless dance moves.
I was absolutely CERTAIN that Hop was going to be the last place of last places, and was waiting the whole video with bated breath for the extended rant. I genuinely could not think of what other film could be worse than Hop. But then Schaffrillas said, "[Hop] is indeed a movie. You cannot say this about the bottom spot on this list." And the unwanted memories came flooding back. I had completely blotted that final movie's name out of my brain.

I love that a Donkey Kong sound effect is better than entire movies. This might be my favorite list of yours. Occasionally, I would find myself disagreeing with an opinion of yours, then sitting back and thinking for a moment, about how this might just be the most ridiculous ranking list on the Internet at the moment. I'm gonna argue that the trash water deserves better. If it wasn't water, if it wasn't there, it wouldn't helped the narrative as it did. It helps invoke a panicked sense of "ew, what's in there, what's it feel like, what's down there" that WOULDN'T have been hit if it was just a bunch of solids. I always thought it deserved higher on its original video and it definitely deserves higher here too.

The movie by itself would be pretty harmless, but as an adaptation ? It's an absolute disaster. They pulled random elements from the books and tried to fit them weirdly into their made-up "magic egg" plot, and ignored/contradicted crucial elements about pretty much every character
The "Disappointment in the game of life" jingle getting lower and lower in tone like it did in the Illumination ranking is just the perfect metaphor for the downward spiral and descent into madness that this list represents.
@@You-Tube-n5k For the first 4 rankings of the Sony video, it slowly loses about 150 cents (which is like 1 and a half steps downward) for each jingle. I remember using a tone software with -600 cents creating the same tone for the last ranking with Hop, which is actually in the same tone as the 4th to last ranking in the Sony ranking (Why did I even do this in the first place, I don't know.)
I got to #1. It wasn't what I expected. It was so much worse. Oh god. Oh my god. I even thought about the first movie, wishing that they could've made a sequel. Turns out they "did". Oh my god, holy shit. Why. My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day sucks now.

SPOILERS FOR WORST RANKING: Mr.Schaffrillas, you have done a tremendous service for spotlighting the pure sin homunculi that has taken a physical DVD form, that of which hides itself within the title "Surfs Up 2 Wavemania". As a kid growing up, I fell in LOVE with the first Surfs Up movie. I begged my mom to rent it out again on Redbox years ago, convinced her to buy me the DVD, showed the film to all of my close friends as one of my comfort movies with it's splendid water animation, mockumentary style of story telling, tremendous soundtrack, Shia LaBeouf's best voice acting role in my honest to god opinion, with a sweet message for kids growing up that is both on-the-nose as well as not watered down for toddlers. Truly fond memories. So when i tell you my genuine excitement for the rumors about a 2nd film coming out around the 2015-2016 timeframe, I told EVERYONE that I knew...Surfs Up was back!! What worried me immediately afterward was the announcement of the WWE brand being affiliated with the films upcoming release. I was familiar with the direct to DVD specials that involved IPs such as Scooby Doo or The Flinstones meeting WWE characters (and how the quality usually wasn't up to anybody's realistic expectations of enjoyment if you aren't a WWE fan), but younger me held out hope for Sony to come through and give a good product! The film speaks for itself, and it genuinely ruined my perception of there being any type of hope for a proper sequel, or 3rd film to ever be birthed by this studio ever again. The message was clear even for someone as young as I was back then that Sony did not gave any thought or care about the fanbase that the original film culminated years after its original 2007 release. The insulting way they handled Cody Mavericks character assassination, spitting towards the direction of anyone who enjoyed his developed mentor relationship with Big Z, the brother comradery with Chicken Joe, and learnt lesson about the idea of being a winner VS the pure enjoyment that comes out of simply surfing with those close to you. Vince McMahon (as horrible of a man he is) now holds a strong resentment in my heart for his pure involvement for inserting himself and his employees to a media that I cared for, that I enjoyed, that I fondly think of and smearing the most irreversible soiled stain that may have ultimately killed/shelved the Surfs Up IP until the day we all are distant memories for our descendants. I don't see that many Surfs Up fans out and about these days, the tumbleweed is nothing but dust across the former floor that was a small, yet built fanbase for a film. That being said, you giving the humanitarian error that is "Surfs Up 2 Wavemania" the spotlight of the worst piece of media that you have ever ranked on this channel gives a fan like me the type of pride via agreement when regarding "Surfs Up 2 Wavemania" being the biggest piece of shit "film" ever. May the oceans tide bless us with the fond memories of penguins riding the tube of a wave for the love of the sport and nothing more.
That's pretty much how I feel as a big fan of the original movie. Even as a 10-11 year old, I could tell the sequel was a terrible cashgrab that had nothing to do with the original and had much less artistic integrity.

Ya if you go into bad game setups like that looking for the fun of watching it devolve into chaos (rather than the fun of an actually functional game), it can be a blast. Me and my friends have a specific Towerfall ruleset designed for maximum nonsense that we play that way (it's been a while, but infinite drill arrows is the main mechanic lol), and then there's the classic Sonic-only Smash battle.

A detail I love I haven’t seen pointed out. (Spoilers for the ending…) Dude, Surfs up 2’s week off was during the Disney villain ranking, which is when Schaff got the poison apple that ultimately killed it. Hence why neither of them knew about it. Clever and exceedingly funny attention to detail. Tarantino, you’ve done it again.
Hopefully we get a video on "The Lion King 1 1/2" soon, seeing as how much he gushed about it and how he said it needed its own video. I wanna know what he thinks of some scenes being explained behind the scenes, like the animals bowing at Simba's birth actually due to Pumbaa letting rip like a Beyblade in the crowd.
I always enjoy trying to quickly guess what the next spot of a ranking video will be based on the goofy sound cues used with the ranking numbers. It’s a fun little challenge. This video definitely made that harder with literally every ranking being introduced with the same “disappointment in the game of life” sound lol

59:31 My favorite bit of HOP lore is that Webkinz did a partnership with the movie. They pushed the movie HARD on the game. So much so they even gave away a free pet. (Which was pretty unheard of at the time for the game.) And the movie flopped. So hard. I love that in an interview, the Webkinz creative director mentions it in passing as a mistake. I own one of these hopping bunny promotional pets. As do I own other items from that promotional. All of those things are infinitely more enjoyable than the movie itself. Btw the bunny I ended up naming Fudge. : )

To adress the potluck song, while it is of course the worst song in steven universe, it being anything more would ruin the impact of that episode. The entire episode, lars was incredibly nervous and afraid of not being cool enough to fit in. And yet, when sadie ends up left alone with the cool kids, she doesn't have to do much to have fun with them. Just singing the word potluck over and over again was enough to emotionally connect with them and have fun. Point being, the Potluck song ranking below the Donkey Kong wii remote sound is a stain on your career that will only be washed away by making an hour long apology and analysis video on the Potluck song.

Not gonna lie, I actually forgot like the whole plot till I stumbled upon it 2 years ago, on a wiki page whilst looking thru Cars characters. I loved it again, have watched it and scenes about twice, etc.
Yes, people can have opinions, however I do actually have an explanation behind the (in quotes) 'spy incompetent/stupidity': One is in love, the other, in almost inconsolable grief. Both are hiding it. (I am delving into thought processes now, silly me.)
Also the one in complete grief is a James Bond parody and has the voice of Roger Moore, done by a costar who Moore interacted with in a non-Bond movie. I actually LOVE this quirk, Cars 2 makes me pleased.
But it turns off other people, mainly because of the overly bright-n-violent vibes. Also the PG rating doesn't fit it (it's perfectly fine; shoulda been PG13 imo). Relatable....however it's a lot better than Happy Feet (I HATE the OG Happy Feet).
At least, for me, the Fall Out Boy reference in Acer and the entire James Bond parody in BOTH Mater and Finn McMissile is a lot better than watching a movie about singing penguins pulling stupidly aimless dance moves.

I remember using a tone software with -600 cents creating the same tone for the last ranking with Hop, which is actually in the same tone as the 4th to last ranking in the Sony ranking (Why did I even do this in the first place, I don't know.)

Mr.Schaffrillas, you have done a tremendous service for spotlighting the pure sin homunculi that has taken a physical DVD form, that of which hides itself within the title "Surfs Up 2 Wavemania". As a kid growing up, I fell in LOVE with the first Surfs Up movie. I begged my mom to rent it out again on Redbox years ago, convinced her to buy me the DVD, showed the film to all of my close friends as one of my comfort movies with it's splendid water animation, mockumentary style of story telling, tremendous soundtrack, Shia LaBeouf's best voice acting role in my honest to god opinion, with a sweet message for kids growing up that is both on-the-nose as well as not watered down for toddlers. Truly fond memories.
So when i tell you my genuine excitement for the rumors about a 2nd film coming out around the 2015-2016 timeframe, I told EVERYONE that I knew...Surfs Up was back!!
What worried me immediately afterward was the announcement of the WWE brand being affiliated with the films upcoming release. I was familiar with the direct to DVD specials that involved IPs such as Scooby Doo or The Flinstones meeting WWE characters (and how the quality usually wasn't up to anybody's realistic expectations of enjoyment if you aren't a WWE fan), but younger me held out hope for Sony to come through and give a good product!
The film speaks for itself, and it genuinely ruined my perception of there being any type of hope for a proper sequel, or 3rd film to ever be birthed by this studio ever again. The message was clear even for someone as young as I was back then that Sony did not gave any thought or care about the fanbase that the original film culminated years after its original 2007 release. The insulting way they handled Cody Mavericks character assassination, spitting towards the direction of anyone who enjoyed his developed mentor relationship with Big Z, the brother comradery with Chicken Joe, and learnt lesson about the idea of being a winner VS the pure enjoyment that comes out of simply surfing with those close to you.
Vince McMahon (as horrible of a man he is) now holds a strong resentment in my heart for his pure involvement for inserting himself and his employees to a media that I cared for, that I enjoyed, that I fondly think of and smearing the most irreversible soiled stain that may have ultimately killed/shelved the Surfs Up IP until the day we all are distant memories for our descendants.
I don't see that many Surfs Up fans out and about these days, the tumbleweed is nothing but dust across the former floor that was a small, yet built fanbase for a film.
That being said, you giving the humanitarian error that is "Surfs Up 2 Wavemania" the spotlight of the worst piece of media that you have ever ranked on this channel gives a fan like me the type of pride via agreement when regarding "Surfs Up 2 Wavemania" being the biggest piece of shit "film" ever.
May the oceans tide bless us with the fond memories of penguins riding the tube of a wave for the love of the sport and nothing more.

That's pretty much how I feel as a big fan of the original movie. Even as a 10-11 year old, I could tell the sequel was a terrible cashgrab that had nothing to do with the original and had much less artistic integrity.
ngl not even as a WWE fan myself can i confidently say it gives any sort of enjoyment when its attached to a different piece of media (tho the Scooby Doo crosssover was rather funny cus John Cena lifting a rock to save people is hilarious)

Ya if you go into bad game setups like that looking for the fun of watching it devolve into chaos (rather than the fun of an actually functional game), it can be a blast. Me and my friends have a specific Towerfall ruleset designed for maximum nonsense that we play that way (it's been a while, but infinite drill arrows is the main mechanic lol), and then there's the classic Sonic-only Smash battle.

I always enjoy trying to quickly guess what the next spot of a ranking video will be based on the goofy sound cues used with the ranking numbers. It’s a fun little challenge. And the movie flopped. So hard.
I love that in an interview, the Webkinz creative director mentions it in passing as a mistake.
I own one of these hopping bunny promotional pets. As do I own other items from that promotional. All of those things are infinitely more enjoyable than the movie itself.

To adress the potluck song, while it is of course the worst song in steven universe, it being anything more would ruin the impact of that episode. The entire episode, lars was incredibly nervous and afraid of not being cool enough to fit in. And yet, when sadie ends up left alone with the cool kids, she doesn't have to do much to have fun with them. Just singing the word potluck over and over again was enough to emotionally connect with them and have fun.
Point being, the Potluck song ranking below the Donkey Kong wii remote sound is a stain on your career that will only be washed away by making an hour long apology and analysis video on the Potluck song.
