My sister is ill so I sold my house...gave 1/2 to other sister gave the remainder to other..staying for a year I did running and taxi work...then she goes and brings half wit nephew/pan handler in on the deal... he's a take over artist😢😢 23:54 Acting the marter. To get money. Told sis I'm not buying it ...with his hand out ...all the time.. sis said get out. So in the midst of putting my stuff in storage..hunting house... you have 0 time to get out. You won't make peace. So it's Willy's song on the road again(r) ...😊😊😊😊😊
With all my respect & regards I would love to add that in my case I suffered a lot Rascism & Xenofobia for 21 years in Brazil owed to the fact that I had to be there in order to save a family investment. Right now, I had solved the problem (it took 20 years in justice). I got retired with 53 years old. I have the Choice to sell my house here & buy a house in Italy (my country) & become a mum (I'm alone) or make an out of the box project using the cleverness of her. Less is more. Let's say that I'm fine. I'm a designer. I have already made interior projects for cars, boats, planes.. I asked to myself..why don't build 3 Motorhomes & enjoy the VanLife with less but with confort? So I started with my first here: a Suv DIY no Built, completely Stealth [with Ecoflow 800wt + Ecoflow 800 inverter] pushing a Stealth trailer where I have a bathroom + my Recording Studio plugged with a Bluetti EB3A + 120Wt solar panel]. In April I'm going to Build my second Motorhome in Italy with the Same mentality & in 2026 if God wants I'd like to build the third in Califórnia & enjoy some Months per year only. I spent 35 years on planes & cities. I want to discover the life outside of them as much as possible.
… and when it’s time to sleep and you have picked out your stealthy spot, be certain you’ve done everything needed BEFORE you get to your sleeping spot. Install ALL your window covers (accept front windshield of course). Don’t plan on getting out / exiting your vehicle while you’re in the sleeping spot. Try your best to be as quick and quiet as possible. “Stealth” is the key word. Once you’re done with sleeping … LEAVE just as quickly and quietly as you arrived and leave NOTHING behind.
@@EdisonBryan He means doing this before driving to the desired spot. You want to be stealthy so doing this before would be ideal. All you would have to do when arriving to the spot is putting that windshield cover.
You are absolutely adorable! It's almost like you were BORN to teach. If University ever offered a class in Van Dwelling, you'd make an excellent professor! Great ideas too. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge!
Thanks for watching! And for that very kind comment. 😊 I appreciate your encouragement and support! 😊💯 Thanks for taking the time to comment, have a fantastic weekend!💯😃🙌🏼
Thanks for watching! I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a rough patch, but as long as you have a vehicle, you are not homeless. You have a roof over your head, and that is the most important thing. Check out my playlist, VAN CAMPING in Michigan for a lot of other very helpful ideas, tips and tricks. I wish you well, and know that you will be OK. Thank you for reaching out! Have a fantastic day!😃🙌🏼
Your not alone. I've got just a few months then ill be out in the heat of summer im packing up and putting my stuff in storage keeping clothes toiletries accessible and me and the pets in the car..🙏🙏
It’s so nice to find a comment section where people are in my situation and get that when you’re being abused, you gotta get out. If I was healthy, I’d have been gone a long time ago. But I’m very ill. Please pray for me. Thank you, and I’m praying for everyone in tough situations. Much love to you all 😊💕❤️
I left a toxic marriage and moved into my SUV almost 4 years ago. I'm so happy and I wish I had done it years earlier. It's funny how sometimes the most terrible of life's events, like a divorce, lead us to where we were always meant to be. I frequently overnight in Planet Fitness parking lots. Most of them are open 24/7 and that gives me overnight access to a bathroom. People are constantly coming and going and that helps to keep the Bad Guys away. Also, if you can start Automobile Life with a sound Emergency Fund you'll be way better off...
Hey there! Thanks for stopping in. And yes, sometimes devastating events need to happen in order for us to get to a better place. I am a firm believer in the Lord, and know that he goes before us. I I take comfort in knowing that. I’m so sorry to hear about the divorce, but I’m certainly sure if it could’ve been salvaged you would have made sure that happened. Thanks for the tip for everybody reading this, about the planet fitness is. And I totally agree, I normally stay in places that have a lot of in and out with vehicles. That’s great advice, having a little bit of an emergency fund so you have some financial stability for the transition. I wish you well, and hope you have a very Merry Christmas! Have a fantastic day!🎄🙌🏼💯😃
You're right about the first one. Fast, complete privacy is the first thing you need in a vehicle you are living, dinning, & sleeping in. Needs to be fast deployment, "bulletproof" privacy ! 👍 Rock on 😊.
Oh my word. God Bless and yes, Very Helpful! I am going to be living out of my Nissan Car for close to 5 to 6 months to save many and buy a home. I have researched so much and will be buying things I need and preparing for the change. God Bless you from Fort Myers, Florida!!!
@lindahusband3893 thanks for watching! I don’t have a Nissan, I have a 2019 Dodge grand Caravan. What are you asking your question about? Will what work?
Within any car, SUV, Van, RV, etc... It's a challange to live even in a home. Within a car... First timers for myself... I learned to get off of my pedistal and pee in a cup or wood, LOL... The outlook is so much better and I am looking at life more LOVING and less PERSONAL within Materialistic.
About to be a car dweller .. I’ve been falling behind rent for a long time.. I faced an eviction but they’re letting me go with a clean record. They’ll say I rented 7 years.. I don’t have enough for another apt .. grew up in foster care.. my family has passed on.. my ex won’t help me. Thank god when I had the means I got a Mazda. I’ve been watching these videos a lot.. to prepare. Of course a lot of mines going to storage. I’d advise anyone in my boat to also get a gym membership for showers and rec. your great for this .
🤍🙏💫 I know it’s intimidating but I promise you CAN do this & thrive too! I did it for 2yrs in LA & am thinking of going back to it just to save $! You’ll find a rhythm to things & when you see how much money you can save you’ll be hooked lol If you’re good at working with dogs consider overnight pet sitting. You’ll have a place to stay occasionally that way. Or look into house sitting. Take care of your heart & soul above all else💝
I ended up being blessed . The day I packed my apt the helper who came to me was of simmilar age and he inherited a house .. well he let me stay with him vs helping me move things to storage and leaving me to my car.. I have shelter and I am working. God bless everyone who commented on my behalf.
I've seen many minivan (short term?) campers with lots of space turned over to nik-naks. I do wonder where the more useful stuff fits in 😅 it's a balance, don't throw away sentimental items that you will likely miss later. Been there 😢
Thanks for watching! And for your kind comment and encouragement. I Appreciate your support. Have a fabulous Christmas! Thanks for taking the time to come in❤️🙌🏼😃🎄
Great Video!! Looking Forward To More!!! Stitch a queen size flat sheet after folding over like a tortilla. Insert sheet inside fleece sleep sack which is then inserted within Regular or Mummy shape Sleeping Bag. The inner sheet works to keep bag clean . I have 4 of these all light tan colored and rotate them throughout month., changing weekly. 😊
Planet Fitness has showers. $21-28 monthly. Goodwill has lots of great used stuff from bedding to containers, and many other things. Water bottles filled with hot water are great for put in bed with you to warm you up.
I've been thinking about getting a Planet Fitness membership because I may be facing a "car dwelling" situation soon. Can you tell me if Planet Fitness has open showers/locker rooms or if they are privately individualized. I prefer the latter. Thanks.
@@johnbattles1002 they have locker rooms . Private changing area across from the shower . And the shower are privately individualized . It’s 25.00 a month and a yearly 59.00 maintenance fee . And for that you can use any of their locations.
Thank you. You are like the mother I wish I had had!!!! I am fleeing a bad situation and just listening to you gives me the confidence that I too can live in my vehicle, comfortably and on a tight budget. Again, Thank you, for being you.
Thanks for watching! This is probably the most meaningful comment I have ever received.🩵 You CAN do it and you can do it WELL! We need very little to survive. Just the basics. What’s your goal? Set it and stay the course. Live small now so you can live big when you reach your goal! Have a fantastic day! Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! 😊💯🙌🏼 P.s. everything is gonna be ok. 🙌🏼
Just began watching, also note, a small bucket in the car is ideal for many things, u can use it to rinse your hair, shave, to use mild soap and water (w/face washer) to clean ur body in the car, to do some emergency hand washing (Such as undies, socks, cloths, for spot cleaning,etc..), cleaning dishes, good to use as a bin, or incase u feel nauseous, etc.. just a good idea for emergencies when u can't always find a public toilet, it will be feel like ur camping out 😊 Or, some ppl just use wet wipes to clean themselves or wash their dishes too. Great tips so far, need to play rest of video 😊 this will help many ppl, so many crisis situations, we are living in unstable times, and its a good idea to learn to live with less, just the basics is enough to get u thru a bad storm.. I'm not sure if u have mentioned this yet, but if ppl can get a hold of a car roof bag, this will give them plenty of space to add extras.. God bless you, will continue watching now 🙏 😇 PS: someone (A friend) also gave me an idea, for small spaces like cars, U can use a bedpan, it will work well for very small, cramped areas. Also it's not a bad idea to use paper in the bedpan, tissues or something like baking paper, so it's easier and cleaner to dispose of. Also look into a disinfectant spray to spray the car/room after finishing, and spray the bedpan.
Wow.... never heard the bedpan idea mentioned before! How clever... especially on COLD WINDY WINTRY nights and you want to stay warm. It's worth a try!!! I'm making a note of it!
To cut down on condensation inside the vehicle you can use hanging bags of Damp Rid. I have a Jackery 1000 unit which I recharge using solar panels mounted on the roof of my van. Have used it for more than 2 years and it has worked perfectly with no problems. I power interior LED lights, a laptop, a Max Air roof fan, a phone signal booster, and recharge 24v power tool batteries with it. I choose the large Jackery because I would rather have more power than not enough. The Jackery can also be recharged via the auto cigarette plug or household plug. One can use the smaller lithium rechargeable phone type power packs and recharge them via a smaller solar panel that will fit on the car's dashboard. Several battery-operated power tool brands offer different attachments/tools such as fans, USB power packs, radios., etc. I use 24v versions of such and then recharge the batteries with a charger connected to the Jackery. A 5-gallon bucket w/ lid will double as a seat and toilet. Walmart and camping stores sell a camping type toilet seat w/lid which will fit the bucket. (rather expensive) Or one can simply use a pool noodle cut to fit the rim of the bucket for comfort. The Little Buddy heater does work well, and the larger models' grills can be removed, or a metal paint roller grill can be used for a cooking surface on the bigger models. Just be careful about placement to avoid tip overs. You can cook up hot meals this way. You can find collapsable water jugs w/attached spouts in the camping departments of many stores. Or simply repurpose 1 gallon plastic milk jugs for your water supply. Small silicon folding buckets/sink will work as a basin or a cutoff milk jug. There are a lot of videos you can check out on RUclips about these subjects. Perhaps what is MOST IMPORTANT is to have a positive mindset, be adaptative, think creatively, and open-mindedly. When you really can do so, your mindset will change, and things will become less complicated and easier.
I’m sure watching! And for all that fantastic information! I appreciate you taking the time to comment, but most of all I appreciate you willingness to help others with your knowledge. Have a fantastic day!🙌🏼😃💯
Thank you for the amazing video. No fancy "influencer" bs just solid, no nonsense, practical information. Im living in my Kia Sorento, by choice for 4 months/ I'll never go back. I do acknowledge I have a bunch of advantages, like a full-time job and a safe parking spot to sleep at night/ but this can be gone over night. Thank you for the tips...the fam and rain guards are so Important Safe travels (:
You can check ahead first w/ Cracker Barrel, Walmart, Loves & other truck stops, strip mall parking lots if no security, etc. Truck-stops have showers for a fee. Wide mouth containers work best for urine for women. I tried the cat litter way & realized human urine bc of its larger volume will not all be absorbed. Then bags can break & U have a mess. Headlamps are good to keep your light focused & right in front of you & it is stealthy. That was good advice for newbies. Thx
Always great to see you Nancy Faye I'm loving all your new videos I love your practical logical approach to everything!! You are a kind sharing person and I just want to tell you the World Appreciates You !!!
🥹Thank you for this very kind comment. 🥹❤️ I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. Thank you so much for your support. Have a fantastic Christmas! 🎄❤️🙌🏼😃💯
I swear Nancy, you are the greatest thing to hit the camping world since pop-up tents!! You are an extraordinary teacher, explainer, and a downright inspiration! You have an ability to NOT mince words and speak clearly about any knowledge you're sharing; and I love that! (So many video makers distract from content with "filler words" or saying stuff that's so obviously common knowledge that having to listen to them is not only frustrating, it's also a bit insulting .) I think you Know what I mean, Jelly Bean! Anyway,I would have LOVED to have had your videos years earlier...when back in the day , 1984 to be exact, I bought a used 25-ft class A motorhome. I was a Full-timer back then, and lived in "The Tumbleweed" for 6 yrs...until finally selling her in 1990. I towed a beat-up 1975 Toyota Corolla, and my pals on the road were my white Persian cat "Lacy," a green budgie parakeet "Pete", and 2 goldfish "Mork & Mindy." My game plan was moving to a new state every 6 months. (I figured that that would give me the time I needed to really explore and get to know a state.) And sure enough, many times when I left a place and moved on, I knew more about that state than others who'd spent a lifetime there!) During those 6 years (and eventually a total of 32 years!) I was a flight attendant for Delta Airlines. And so I needed that little beat-up Toyota to get me to the nearest airport (from my campground) and then I could fly to my Crew Base to work my trips. My typical flying schedule was 3-on, 4-off AND it was flexible to the point where I could "swap my trips" and fly 6-on, 8-off. Those 6 yrs Nancy were a total blast..even though a lot of times, I had to learn things the hard way! Back then, I didn't have a cell phone or a laptop or GPS...OR great videos from a Modern Day Pilgrim! Instead of carrying a gun back then (you know, single woman, traveling alone cross country) I protected myself with a handmade stick of dynamite, a super sharp buck knife, and a starters pistol. Much of the time I got by on the seat of my pants, good luck, common sense, lipstick and a short denim skirt! (It didn't take me long to figure out how I could get help faster on the side of the road by simply putting on lipstick and slipping into that short skirt! (Isn't that terrible?!) But it worked! During those 6 yrs... from Key Largo to Portland, OR...I can honestly say that it was rare when a day passed that someone didn't touch my life with random kindness. So here I am now, 34 years later, at the age of 75, a single woman, retired from Delta Airlines, with a total of 4 motorhomes and 1 little R-pod travel trailer behind me, and STILL aching to be out on the road! And, STILL learning something new... everytime I watch one of your videos! I'm kind of like you now..as far as minivan camping...mine is a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country. I so appreciate everything you're teaching in these wonderful videos! Thanks a million, you kindred spirit. Be safe out there and keep these videos coming!!!
Hello! Thank you so much h for this very kind and encouraging comment. It actually brought tears to my eyes. It’s one of the kindest comments I’ve received. 🥹 What an amazing life you lived. YOU are a true inspiration to all and a fantastic communicator! Reading about your life was enjoyable and motivating! 32 years on the road! YOU MAKE ME SMILE! 😃 Have a fantastic day! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your life with me and for your kind comment about me and my channel. It’s so appreciated. ❤️😃🙌🏼💯
Nancy, bless your heart for reading my story on your video. I'm tickled pink that you enjoyed it! I feel a need to clarify a sentence I wrote that you may have misunderstood. As for those 32 years...that was the # of years I flew for Delta Airlines. I actually lived ON THE ROAD for 6 years. Again, I truly hope you'll keep these videos coming to us. You're absolutely terrific!
I personally believe the best gear you need to live in a vehicle is the same gear hikers take when they go hiking. I strongly encourage people to look at hiking channels to get a general idea what they take when they go.
Thanks for watching! And for the very kind comment! My foot is doing fantastic! I’m very pleased with the outcome, and am basically back to business! Still have to be thoughtful when doing things. It will take a full year to heal completely. I appreciate you asking! Have a fantastic Christmas!🙌🏼😃💯🎄

I really appreciate how much time and effort you put in to make sure that you were inclusive to everybody's needs and really understood what you're putting out there before you said it. You have a lot of really great ideas in this video and I just want to thank you. ❤

This is a great video I'm sharing with a friend who has recently found herself homeless at 57 yrs old. I've already thought of things I already have so she can be more comfortable in her car/ small SUV. Hopefully we can get her up and going with friends help. I've told her not all her friends will be able to keep her in a hotel every night while she gets another job and can do better for herself. Thanks for this helpful video.
One way I have found great for keeping warm without danger of having any type of gas or electric heater going while sleeping or even running of vehicle is using the hot hands heater items and tucking them in pockets, or in sleeping bag or just tucked in blankets
Hot water bottles, or whatever the old fashioned ones are called, are excellent for heating up your foot area bedding and keep your feet warm for hours. Grrat advice. Just subbed. Thank you. Blessongs!
How are you so positive? You are so inspiring and seem so strong. I wish I could be more like you, as the years have gone on, my strength and positivity have drastically diminished.
For the light, i found a lantern on Amazon, it's hand cranked so you put in a little elbow grease to charge it. It's got 3 modes, half of the light(so you don't totally blind yourself), whole light, and a hazard flashing red light. Plus it has usb ports so you can charge other things like your phone with it.
Thank you so much for this video and for the information you shared. I have a mid-sized SUV that I plan on using to travel/live in. I also have a 70-pound service/assistance dog to help pick up things that I drop and to help me keep steady when I get dizzy. Currently I am in Florida and highly motivated to get out of my living situation. My roommate can be very stern with me and raises her voice a lot, like I’m a child. My mental health is taking a beating right now. And I’m feeling like I’m at fault all the time. She is waiting for a hip replacement and cannot walk very well. I’m also feeling guilty for my desire to leave. I have tried to tell her that I’m leaving. Whenever I’ve started talking about it she gets really upset with me. It will take me a couple of months to be able to leave as my finances need improvement. I have a problem saying no to her because it leads to conflict. I hate conflict as it makes me truly anxious and depressed. I’ve prayed to God about it. Thank you for posting your videos. ❤️😊Brenda & Blue🐕🦺❤️
You are extremely empathetic, and your roommate is taking advantage of that. Also, the enemy of your soul is the one making you feel guilty all of the time. Take EVERY thought captive, right? Our heavenly family is encouraging, not accusing. Who is the Accuser? Everyone else has a right to take care of themselves. Why not you? You are a child of the King. Stand tall. Make BOUNDARIES and when the malcontents cross them, shut the door. Remain in forgiveness, for you and your spiritual walk. Forgiveness does not mean allowing others to continue to hurt us. My own mother and father were massively abusive growing up. I've forgiven them. They may never know this. I made a boundary. I drew a line in the sand. I made my boundary known. When they crossed the line I drew in the sand, I did not step back and redraw my line. That was it. I do not know if they are alive. I made it clear that I am here if they WANT to change. Its been years, and no word. I'm happier now than I have ever been. One of your primary caregivers growing up was most assuredly a narcissist. You are showing signs of narcissistic abuse. There are many channels that help those of us suffering from this. You must be extremely careful with meeting people. Narcissists are EVERYWHERE. They "love bomb", then devalue. They also gas light, to make you question reality. The ONE THING all Narcissistic Abuse Victims share is that we do not know WHO WE ARE. We do not know our worth. We were told we were LESS THAN in our programmed upbringing. That caused self-rejection. I would suggest that you memorize the scriptures that tell you WHO YOU ARE. Make sure that this is embedded in your DNA. I AM a child of the Most High. I AM a vine of the true branch. I also read Psalm 91, putting my own name in. I, Renae, who dwells in the most High, will rest in the shadow of the Most High. I will say to the Lord..." Always remember, the people who love you will celebrate your boundaries. People who want to destroy you will hate your boundaries. That is across the board, parents and children alike. You DESERVE more. Go on now.

@@ModernDayPilgrim Thank you. Me too. There are so many of us out there. We do not know that the opposite of what we heard about ourselves growing up is true. Have a blessed and safe day.
❤ Thank you. You made me feel ok and your advice makes me feel ok being homeless 14:40 You're right. And in the USA there are laws governing how many parking spots are required for any building and the requirement is always more than the building would ever need.
Finally......someone who understands the importance of an emergency TOILET 4 the middle of the night.....and, that you don't have 2 take a shower every day to keep clean.. .bottle of warer on the dashboard to warm up in the sun, a washcloth, and UR good to go. 😊
Check out "bog in a bag". Its a folding tripod stool, very small, with a hole in the seat for a bag to put absorbent material (sawdust, gel etc) in. Folds up very compact.
❤I live in a Chrysler Town & country van, I make it my own and I don't have to worry about rent it's the best feeling also I did a lot of research to get the essentials that I needed a lot of things plugged into USB to save energy.cool video 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Yes, sometimes, depending on where you live, Summers can be ruthless! I happen to live in Michigan, and our temperatures fluctuate a lot, but they’re not overly hot for the most part, and they’re not the freezing tundra either. But a lot of in between. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Have a fantastic day!😃🙌🏼💯
@@ModernDayPilgrimI haven’t yet been to Michigan. Is the UP weather better than lower Michigan? I’ve got another comment to make by itself. So I’ll get busy watching some of your other videos. Enjoy your day!
@@RoadThruGrace thanks for watching! The upper peninsula weather is a lot more harsh in the winter than the lower peninsula. The upper peninsula can be a lot more mild in summer, however, there have been times when it’s been smoking hot up there as well. Being near Lake Superior can be a lot cooler as well. Have a fantastic day! 😃💯🙌🏼
At Big Lots you can get a queen comforter, bed sheets and usually four pillowcases for 29.99. Of course you would probably need a warmer sleeping bag for winter. If you have a stationary bed in your van and your comforter is going to be visible it would be nice to have a comforter that makes you happy but doesn't break the bank.
Wow! You really created a beautiful video here for people who are either living in their vehicle or are thinking about living in their vehicle, like me! Thank you so much❤
I have a Vivarium Electronics radiant heat panel, 40 watt, with thermostat. They won't start a fire because they are made with non-flammable components. (You do still want to set it up on a hard surface, tho.)
I'd steer clear of hotel parking lots, as someone who uses hotels as a paying guest, seeing van dwellers, car campers etc using those parking spots (regardless if the hotel isn't full) leaves the impression that the property is leaning toward the sketchy side. (not good for business) and you'll sometimes see van dwellers , enter the hotel , use the restroom (which are not public, but for paying guests) and even grab food from the breakfast area. Hospitals at least in my area have rolling security and they tend to kick people off the property.
Thanks for watching! I hear you on all accounts. I’ve never been detected as my van doesn’t look like a camper. I blend right in. That’s why I love this van. No one knows I’m in it. I’ve personally never entered a hotel where I’ve slept for any reason. When you “stealth camp” in the city, that’s the idea to slip in and slip out undetected, not drawing attention to yourself. I’ve never had a bad experience at any location I’ve stealth camped in and I believe it’s becoase “Im stealthy.” I slip in undetected and I slip out undetected. Hotels are a great place in my opinion, and they have worked out well for me. However, if there were vehicle dwellers that were there and it was obvious that they are sleeping in there vehicles I’d say that’s a bad practice. I agree that it’s not a good look if those types of campers are utilizing that lot. I am completely self sufficient in my van and need nothing. I don’t get out after I park and leave when I awake in the morning, normally early as that’s my normal routine at home. I appreciate you taking the time to comment and share your thoughts. Have a fantastic day! 😃💯🙌🏼
@@dawnjohnson8739 thanks for watching! Some people just live in their vehicles so they don’t have to pay rent and they travel around and find freedom minute. I don’t mind that at all myself! I do have a homebase, and a family, but I could absolutely see myself living in a van, not an RV, but a camper van of some sort and traveling around the United States. Other people have no choice and fall on hard times, or are fleeing a terrible situation. I find having a vehicle is a safe haven and a comfort for some that have no other options. it’s not the end of the road, it’s just a safe haven for the time being. I appreciate you taking the time to come in! Have a fantastic day!😃🙌🏼💯
i have downsized n reorganized to a nutty point. It's a 2 door with one back seat removed, I made it work n when everything is put away, hard to tell it's my pad 😅
Hello! And thank you so much for taking the time to comment! Australia! How’s the weather?😂💯 My is constantly being charged by my vehicle when I drive. In the event that I am parked or camping for an extended period of time, I would just start my car and charge my battery that way. And drive around a little bit. I do not have solar at this time, as I have not had need for it. But I have thought about it and may actually get at least one 100 W panel. I hope you are doing well, and have a fabulous Christmas!😃🙌🏼💯🎄
In winter a hospital with a multi story garage will be warmer than a parking lot. Many cars a parked for days at a time. Hospitals have reasonably priced food and a restaurant. Public library during the day warm, comfortable seating, computer work stations. Space in a vehicle is limited, When possible every item must serve two or more uses. Collapsible solar lites take up very little space and have three light levels some also have red light for night vision. Never pee in an empty bucket because sooner or later the bucket tips over. Put something absorbable in the bottom like cat liter or wood chips. Roll of TP or pee pad. USB cables for all your electronics. Space blanket to place under your sleep system in the winter to reflect body heat. Layers of blankets instead of one warm layer to adjust for temperature variations. Use stainless steel water bottles from thrift shops Usually under $2 instead of buying water in plastic bottles at grocery stores. Drink 3 quarts of water every day, part of that can be soup. Walmart is a good place to park, some stores are 24-7. Walmart has fresh fruits and vegetables. they have a wide variety of add water meals for one or two people. Eat at a picnic table in a city park or in the picnic shelter on a nasty day. 😅😮
Thank you so much for this. Question re window covers; doesn't it attract attention? And we're not allowed to drive w/ them (on side windows of course), right? I'm totally confused about them and I'm sorry for the silly question! No idea where to go aside Walmart either, ugh!! Again, THANK YOU!!
Yes, sometimes window covers can cause attention. Depending on what they are. I have pretty dark windows and you can’t really see the reflecting through them very well. But you can also get black material and put it over one side with reflex because they can be interchangeable left to right if they’re the same shape. So one side can be black in the other one reflected, depending on what season it is. But otherwise, they work out well. I don’t know where you live, so I’m not sure of your surroundings to tell you where to park. Try hotels, hospital, parking lots, that’s what I do. Thanks for watching! Have a fantastic day!😃💯🙌🏼
First of all, I really appreciate the tips you provide, thankyou. In Michigan do you always use the heater buddy in winter or have used a 12v heating blanket?
@@ronmatuska133 thanks for watching! I appreciate your support! I only use a little buddy Mr. heater to warm up my van before I go to bed. I don’t keep it running all night. You obviously have to have your windows cracked a decent amount so you have a good, ventilation in your vehicle. I do have a 12 V blanket, but don’t use it very often. I have two sleeping bags that I use at the same time. I have a mummy sleeping bag that I put inside a regular sleeping bag and that is quite warm. The most uncomfortable is the space outside your sleeping bag is freezing, and it’s tough to get out in the middle of the night if you have to go to the bathroom. I don’t have a heating system that runs continually in my van. Hope this helps! Have a fantastic day!🙌🏼💯😃
Libraries are free, they are climate controled, offer free wifi, and there's books. Lots of them.
That's a great idea!
Except the librarians can't babysit all these people with issues.😅
Power your cell phone, car battery jumper (in a backpack), laptop, etc
This is an important video. Camping in your car for fun is one thing. Running for your life is different.
Exactly! Thanks for watching! I appreciate your support! 🙌🏼😃💯
Right on! 🙌🏼😃💯
Why not the front windshield?
@@EdisonBryan He means doing this before driving to the desired spot. You want to be stealthy so doing this before would be ideal. All you would have to do when arriving to the spot is putting that windshield cover.
I say leave a lot behind so they know that you hate them.

I'm currently in a tough situation that may lead me to car dwelling. Thank you for your clear cut, honest and life giving tips!
Thanks for watching! I’m sorry to hear you’re going through a rough patch, but as long as you have a vehicle, you are not homeless.

God Bless you from Fort Myers, Florida!!!
what kind of nissan do you have? I have a nissan sentra. do you think that this is possible?
@lindahusband3893 thanks for watching! I don’t have a Nissan, I have a 2019 Dodge grand Caravan. What are you asking your question about? Will what work?

Within any car, SUV, Van, RV, etc... It's a challange to live even in a home. Within a car... First timers for myself... I learned to get off of my pedistal and pee in a cup or wood, LOL...
The outlook is so much better and I am looking at life more LOVING and less PERSONAL within Materialistic.
Lovely video. Blowing fan in your face is also a very effective way to reduce acute anxiety, which goes along with an unexpected car stay.
I really hope it works out well for you! I do the same in Seattle, working M-F.
🤍🙏💫
I know it’s intimidating but I promise you CAN do this & thrive too!
I did it for 2yrs in LA & am thinking of going back to it just to save $!
You’ll find a rhythm to things & when you see how much money you can save you’ll be hooked lol
If you’re good at working with dogs consider overnight pet sitting. You’ll have a place to stay occasionally that way.
Or look into house sitting.
Take care of your heart & soul above all else💝
May the good Lord be with you. May his light shine on all you do. ✝🕊
I ended up being blessed . The day I packed my apt the helper who came to me was of simmilar age and he inherited a house .. well he let me stay with him vs helping me move things to storage and leaving me to my car.. I have shelter and I am working. God bless everyone who commented on my behalf.
@@Alypnwcutie Wow this is an amazing blessing💝
You can take a picture of the sentimental things and put in scrapbook. You have a reminder , but it doesn’t take much space
I've seen many minivan (short term?) campers with lots of space turned over to nik-naks. I do wonder where the more useful stuff fits in 😅 it's a balance, don't throw away sentimental items that you will likely miss later. Been there 😢
I put an ad on Craigslist to find a driveway for rent so I don't have to go thru alot of issues that people living in vehicles go through
Any takers for the offer? How much are you offering/paying and for how much time?
What a great idea, it would help lots of people out
Brilliant idea!
You will be assaulted doing this. So stupid.
As always, but especially with this video, you had some fabulous information for people. Thank you so much for sharing.
P.s. everything is gonna be ok. 🙌🏼
Just began watching, also note, a small bucket in the car is ideal for many things, u can use it to rinse your hair, shave, to use mild soap and water (w/face washer) to clean ur body in the car, to do some emergency hand washing (Such as undies, socks, cloths, for spot cleaning,etc..), cleaning dishes, good to use as a bin, or incase u feel nauseous, etc.. just a good idea for emergencies when u can't always find a public toilet, it will be feel like ur camping out 😊
Or, some ppl just use wet wipes to clean themselves or wash their dishes too.
God bless you, will continue watching now 🙏 😇
PS: someone (A friend) also gave me an idea, for small spaces like cars, U can use a bedpan, it will work well for very small, cramped areas. Also it's not a bad idea to use paper in the bedpan, tissues or something like baking paper, so it's easier and cleaner to dispose of.
Also look into a disinfectant spray to spray the car/room after finishing, and spray the bedpan.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate your comment and support! Have a fantastic day!🙌🏼😃💯
Wow.... never heard the bedpan idea mentioned before!
Thank you for the tips...the fam and rain guards are so Important
Safe travels (:
Good video. FYI, Hospital parking lots & garages near me are paid & expensive. Less of an issue in some suburban areas.
this girl is on to it, mrs bob wells id say,
You can check ahead first w/ Cracker Barrel, Walmart, Loves & other truck stops, strip mall parking lots if no security, etc. Thx

Please, please leave that restroom clean that you washed in! Clean behind yourself everywhere.
No. Maybe you should spend your time cleaning other people's messes. You seem like it would be a good fit for you.
great tent idea for protecting you from cold!

Try a car seat warmer under your sleeping bag and or blankets for those cold winter days.
Thank you. Blessongs!
Glad to see someone doing this in Michigan.

Go on now.

Where I live the hospital parking lots are usually full.
Wow! You really created a beautiful video here for people who are either living in their vehicle or are thinking about living in their vehicle, like me! Thank you so much❤
Thankyou so very much for all the helpful info. I learned a LOT more from you than other channels.
God bless 😊
@@idahograndma9598 thank you so much for that. Very kind comment! And thanks for watching! That really made my evening.😊❤️ reach out if you ever have
Double sleeping bag a must in cold spaces. Subbed.

Livin’ in a van down by the river!
I have a Vivarium Electronics radiant heat panel, 40 watt, with thermostat. They won't start a fire because they are made with non-flammable components. (You do still want to set it up on a hard surface, tho.)
Hi! Thanks for sharing the things you have learned…. God Bless!
Awesome information
Glad it was helpful!😃🙌🏼💯
I dearly hope no one is forced to live in a vehicle because once you’re down, it’s really hard getting back up. Blessings.

Hi from Australia 🙋♀️
🤔 How do you recharge your Jackery power box, do you have a solar panel on your vehicle?
Thankyou for all your helpful info 😊
Hello! And thank you so much for taking the time to comment! Australia! How’s the weather?😂💯
My is constantly being charged by my vehicle when I drive.
Ecoflow are very good.. only takes 40 mins to charge 80%.. I use my van to charge mine
Great information!
This just saved my life

Thank you!
Thanks for an informative and useful video 😊
Fantastic video.
Great advice, thank you.
Excellent advice

Love this video… good job!
