    I use my Keurig for instant hot water for my tea and for making noodles and porridge. You just let the noodles or oats soak in the hot water.
    My two-cupper teapot fits perfectly under the Keurig. And, on the rare occasions when I do want a coffee, I just remove the bottom plate to fit my thermal travel mug.

The covered windows will sometimes have moisture behind the covers, but that's easy to wipe off when needed. Also when I turn on my Wave3 heater it will dry everything up pretty quickly. @ all good to know! I don’t have a huge problem with it either. I believe it’s because I keep my windows cracked and a fan on in my van at all times. That way it pushes the air around old air out, allowing for new air in thus less condensation.
      Sometimes, I turned my van on and put the AC on, but the thermostat in the warm position because it acts like a dehumidifier and removes moisture from the van. That works really well! I grew up in Michigan, so you had my instant respect when you said you were camping there in the winter. It gets brutally cold there, like below 0 Fahrenheit/-18 C. Every winter, often for days at a time. I’ve camped in Florida in below freezing weather, and that was no problem for sleeping with a good down comforter, but being comfortable during the day is another matter. Sometimes I just really want the air around me to be at a comfortable temperature. I’ve used the Little Buddy for tent camping but was afraid to use it in the car. You have me rethinking that.

    I was getting cold just watching! I think with your pot of water if you keep the lid on and put a towel over it so it creates a more extended heat where you could wrap your hands around for warmth. Also a hot water bottle or a single layered stainless steel bottle to put the hot water in and a sock over it. I just ordered a two pack of 10hr usb hand warmers. Also there are usb heated vests/jackets. Your window covering you could get the quilted place mats from the dollar store and attach them to the window coverings with a round velcro and then put bubble wrap between them for added insulation.

    I'm cracking up because the ad before your video started was about the unhealthy "salt bomb" Ramen! 😂 That Pecron is the best I've liked since I purchased my Goal Zero 400 Yeti, in 2016. What I have found, traveling full-time, I need more inverter (now I get what it is). I still enjoy cooking over an open fire, but not all the time and it depends on how many days I'm in one place, too. I won't cook inside my van, I'm just too clumsy! I bought a 12 thermos-like kettle to boil water. I miss my cocoa and hot tea. Also, the mini Dash rice cooker, I even make my banana walnut pancakes in it. I love it because I can use in the car, especially when weather is gusty or wet . . but, my inverter is only 300w. . . I have to plan making sure my GZ is 80% or more, inputting from solar while using so I don't get to low. It has been great, but that Pecron will be awesome for me. So far, Mr. Menopause is keeping me warm on 39° and below nights! My king size comforter, folded long like a sleeping bag is working perfectly. I do have one of those face mask 'clava things, for winter camping in mountains with snow, it is comfortable to sleep in, warm. In my 60s I am finding the back of my neck gets cold so I'm glad I kept my thicker pullover hoodie. It is coldest in the canyons & desert, early winter mornings. I'm retired. I just don't get up until the temp rises to 50° and up! 😆

      Thanks for watching! Good to hear from you! All good points you’ve made. Yes, I believe if I lived full-time in my van, I would have some of those things. I love, tuna, chicken, chickpeas, all kinds of vegetables, and fruit, and a good all beef hotdog! I’m a super simple eater. All those gadgets that are used for cooking are super fantastic! But that’s just more stuff I need to store in my van. So it stresses me out! Lol how have you been doing? What’s the weather like where you are at right now? @@ModernDayPilgrim That's why I just have the two. I can't stand two things, house or van. . . clutter and digging for stuff! My counter tops didn't have anything but two plants on them! They are mini, one person size. There a lot of gadgets out there! I carefully selected the one I could cook the top five staple foods I eat regularly. I eat natural and simple, too. I'm content with a pile of celery and peanut butter! It's the hot breakfast omelet, pancakes, oatmeal and grits, for any meal, I miss but not everyday. It also saves on butane. If I do a fire, it is a given I'm roasting a good all beef dog! You'd be surprised at how little I have. My "fridge" is a mini six can cooler for my glaucoma drops and a few things like cheese or if I want eggs. Right now, I'm camping in southern AZ. I have friends in the state so catching up. I'm native southern CA, so I spend time with my family, too. The weather has been moderate, 60s-70s, less windy (yeah) and so far its been dry. The nights have gotten under 40°, but not regularly. I'm cozy and warm during the night and those colder early mornings!

      @ModernDayPilgrim  Месяц назад +1

      @@Outdooracademe thanks for watching! I appreciate you taking the time to come in! Yeah, the electric heater situation is great, but some people don’t have power, so that doesn’t work for everyone. And it really all depends on what power source you have, and how much power the heater source is going to draw out of it. I only use electric heaters when I’m at campgrounds. Other than that, I either don’t use heat or I supplement my heat with my little Mr. Buddy heater. If I lived full-time in my vehicle, I would devise a plan for having a larger power source that could accommodate a small heater to keep the chill away. I’m going to check into that Davis dryer. See how much power it draws. But I also think it runs continually unless you turn it off, which would drain your battery. So all things to think about. Have a fantastic day!🙌🏼💯😃

    If you plug a 300 watt electric kettle into your power station you can boil water without the safety concerns associated with indoor use of propane? I enjoyed your video.

      Thanks for watching! Yes, this is true! They’re all kinds of gadgets that work very well! The MSR stove is due purpose. I can take it in my backpack with me, and a little pack of Ramen noodles in a cup in my backpack when I’m hiking. It’s a great little addition to my VAN CAMPING adventures! I don’t really want to buy another gadget just to have one. The MSR stove works well in all arenas! Thanks for watching, I appreciate your kind comment! Have a fantastic evening!😃🙌🏼💯

    Hi Nancy Faye! You blew my mind when I saw you had put your Coleman cot on the other side of your van -- hadn't seen it on that side before. Excellent video with so many great tips for fall/winter camping. Layers are the best! Creates insulation with the air in between. Down sleeping bags + Merino wool + a beanie + a warm vest, all work well together. I think having a small space heater like your Mr. Buddy is also a necessity, especially when temps are far below 32 degrees. Thanks for showing your interior, your coffee setup, your MSR stove, your Pecron battery, etc.

      Thanks for watching! Well, let me just say that it blew my mind as well, lol! I was all turned around making this video, because I am so used to being on the other side! It did not feel natural at all!😂😂
      I’m not sure I would do this again, I almost put it back on the other side before I made the video, lol! But sometimes it’s nice to have it on the side if you’re quickly getting in and out when you’re stealth camping in the city. You can exit your driver side door and get right in the back door and have space. I normally have it on the other side, as you recognized, lol and sometimes I’d have to go around or I would just hop over the seat. Anyhow, I like it on the other side so much better!
      Appreciate you taking the time to comment, and I appreciate your support. Have a fantastic evening! 😃🙌🏼💯

    Nancy Faye, do you ever use your little Keurig coffeemaker to simply heat water? It’s good for hot cocoa capsules and Ramen noodles too, I would imagine. You could heat only the water you need for food and drinks.
