    I think it was Picasso who said, when asked what he does when he makes a mistake, replied "I thank God for them." After woodburning for over 20 years, I have found this to be very true. Love your videos!

    Great video, these are real, well at least for me. Carbon marks are a headache but the transfer is so much better with carbon paper versus graphite. Thanks again! God bless!

      Hi Paul! The one issue with carbon is it transfers wax-based compounds onto the wood which can be a health hazard when burned. The black wax can also melt into the wood grain, which is even harder to remove. Graphite doesn't have these problems, even though it's messy and has a less defined line.
      I've found a white artist's eraser works well to remove stray graphite marks. You can find those erasers in the pencil sketching supplies section in most stores. The ultimate answer is to minimize the transfer marks and rely upon a reference photo... or trust the artistic process only you can bring to your own unique creations. Happy burning!

    Good morning blossom. For my 92 birthday my daughter bought me my first wood burning kit. I tried it out this morning and finished up with sore eye's. I put it down to old age but there must be some special wood I should have used. Would appreciate it if you would be kind enough to help this old codger out. I enjoyed your program on RUclips. I thought ''Now there's a clever girl''.
    My regards to you.

    Hi I enjoyed your videos. I'm trying to make a plaque in memory of my. Baby sister. Whom we lost January 19th 2024. I'm trying to make a plaque in memory of our baby sister for myself and my two other sisters under me. I made a letter on the plaque that does not go in her name. How do I get that letter out or do how do I put something over it. Or what can I do with it I don't want to throw the plaque away. My name is Mindy. Could you help me please

      To me, it makes it look more handmade vs a laser or such. The handmade look is exactly what I want! I love it! But yeah sometimes I think scraping it out helps. Depends on the project!

      I tried that once before and I just couldn’t get the right angle/pressure I wanted, so I went back to the blade. But thanks for sharing the tip. It’s a good alternative for people to try. 🔥😊

      I had the same problem with the angle but just kept at it until i found a good method! By the way I watch your videos often! Your realism art is absolutely amazing! Work like yours absolutely inspires me, I have been an artist my whole life and hated it until I tried wood burning not too long ago and immediately I found my passion for art! Keep the videos coming and I will keep watching 😁 thanks for sharing your work with all of us!

      @@keith4026 Oh my gosh! Me Too! I was a pencil drawing artist for years, but I never really liked it that much. I was only drawing one or two pieces a year. Then I found wood burning and I was hooked.
      I'm so glad you found your passion in wood burning and that my videos have helped. :) I will absolutely continue to create videos and I can't tell you how much it means to have your support. Thank you for watching!

      I’m honestly surprised that someone else had the same experience, not sure why I’m surprised though lol! I seriously appreciate that you reply to comments as well, that is awesome! Was it hard to make your Pyrography a career and do you have any advise like where to sell or what not

      @@keith4026 Hey Keith! Sorry for the delay. Yes, it was and still is hard making it a career. It's without a doubt the hardest I've worked on anything.... but it's worth the work. I enjoy it immensely and wouldn't do anything else. Advice on where it sell is tricky. I have more questions than answers, what type of art do you make? Fine art, crafts, other? How often do you put new pieces up for sale? Do you sale in person or through social media at all?

    I found an Amazon listing that described the wood sheets as both Balsa and basswood plywood; is this ok for burning? Thanks!

    • @Pyrocrafters
      @Pyrocrafters  2 года назад +1

      Hey Lillian, can you send me the listing so I can have a look? It sounds fine, but I want to double check. Sometimes listings will describe wood as both balsa and basswood. These are the sheets I use and I’ve never had any issues: amzn.to/3urbiCQ

    Is there any way to fix a burn once the wood has been finished? Did a project, sealed the wood, then decided I didn't like the burn...do I have to scrap the whole project or can I fix it?

    • @Pyrocrafters
      @Pyrocrafters  2 года назад

      Hey Traci, unfortunately there's not a good way to re-burn it once you've sealed it. Technically you can burn the wood with a seal on it (depending on the sealant you used), but it's not safe for you to breathe or for your metal tips. And it may not burn the same way if you're shading. Sorry to be kind of a downer, I've been there. I've had to sand off projects and start over. It's not a fun time.
      But if the changes you want to make are in an isolated area, you may be able to sand off a small section and make the changes you want to make. It really depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

    Can you stain the wood first then burn?

    • @Pyrocrafters
      @Pyrocrafters  2 года назад +1

      No, it’s not safe to burn/breathe those chemicals and it will damage your tips. Raw wood is best.
