- POV and off ride footage of Traumatizer at Pleasureland Southport, before it was moved to Blackpool Pleasure Beach to become 'Infusion'.

Brings back memories of going on this when I was a kid at Southport my first rollercoaster experience. Loved it wish it was still at Southport but Blackpool have done a great job with it now.

Omg awesome vintage footage !! The ride was so much better when it was at Southport, it looked so much bigger than it is and it rode better too, it looks so graceful in the off ride footage
Thanks! And spot on my friend, exactly my observations about it to! I was amazed when it fitted into the log flume's space, so of course when we see it now, we're already 1/2 way up the first drop! Tucked away behind the big one, the only place Infusion looks tall is from the bottom of its lift! And I mentioned in a few comments, it really was the smoothest SLC I ever rode! (I guess the maintenance team didn't have much else to look after! lol)
Aren't all Vekoma SLC's with or without new seats and trains traumatizers?
LOL Yep, I rode one of the Six Flags ones, and it really was unpleasant! But when looked after, they can remain quite smooth, Kumali was riding well last year, but Traumatizer was honestly the smoothest SLC I ever rode! I guess it wasn't taking the beating it would at a busier park or something, but yes, it was rideable! ;-)
@@ukridesinfo There are worse ride models than the Vekoma SLC in my opinion. I would say the single worse suspended Roller Coaster would be the Zamperla Volare. They make you question your decisions in life xD
I went on this around 2005/6. There's a keyring with a picture of me on it sat next to some random bloke coz my brother was too scared to come on it with me 😅 it seemed to go over so quickly I didn't get a chance to be scared. I didn't realise it wasn't there anymore
Do you know infusion at blackpool pleasure beach? Well infusion IS traumatizer.
Such a shame that it became so rough after its relocation, though Infusion is still arguably considerably smoother than many of the other clones. I managed to ride Mayan at Energylandia which has the new vest restraints and whilst it eliminated the headbanging it was still pretty shaky and uncomfortable!
Did you know that one of the park managers jokingly suggested to Geoffrey Thompson that the new SLC should be named "Hangover" and that he actually considered it! It was only when the idea of getting a sponsorship came to fruition (due in part to the success of the Pepsi Max sponsorship in Blackpool) did the name get changed!
Paracetamol could have sponsored it! Infusion ended up on a TV ad to, but I can't remember what for..! An elderly couple sit on it mistaking it for a bench to eat a sandwich..?! Anyway lol.
Indeed though, Southport looked after it really well, and of course, it wasn't getting the use it does at Blackpool.
@@ukridesinfo That would be SpecSavers! I operated Infusion in 2016. It was by far the most popular coaster in the north end of the park and anything above 5,000 guests meant 2 trains (which was almost every day).

@@bigchris80Wake up and smell the fact that then the Thompson family who owned southport pleasureland also own blackpool pleasure beach so when they shut old southport pleasureland they took back one of their own rides traumatizer here and stole nothing.

Now that Southport is making its comeback with a new 2024/25 thrill coaster, it would be a perfect time to move infusion out of Blackpool, and put it back in its homeland. Maybe put a water coaster or something in its place.
Infusion won’t be returned to southport.

a vecona slc one of the worst models of any coaster as there ear banging and boring but Odisey at Fantesy island is good its the tallest one and Kong at Paromount Great America and K2 at Kentucky Kingdom the worst
