Sorry but I'm with Rapetero, It is the next step of getting the two devices to start passing games across that isn't obvious.
Pretty frustrating, everywhere you look, it just says what remote play can do, nothing says how to just simply do it. Advertising and showing how to enable it, when it's enabled by default already anyways and that's definitely not what people are looking for.
I’m hoping to put out a more in depth tutorial soon
@@techtutortutorials I would include remote play together, which is a bit different (done from the friend list in the in-game overlay), but I think I got it now myself.
I never saw it because I don't use the overlay, let alone the friend list in it, and it's usually set to offline so it's not even there when looking at it.
I stream the game but it just stays on my main pc and not streaming it to my laptop???
i have the exact same problem...
@@Masterdog999 I found a better program to stream pc to pc now

I have pc paired to tablet. Is there a way to run bluetooth kb & mouse on steam link? I already have kb/mouse paired to tablet. It lets me navigate steam link with bt mouse..but as soon as I launch game mouse control goes away
What desktop background are you using? That looks awesome
I always have issue that "steam remote launch failed time out waiting for steam to launch". I can't steam my own account from other pc. Or is that only case with black desert online game?
its working but for the guest there is this on his stream: ´´the input is temporarily disabled´´ even if i am in the game, how can i fix this?
Awesome! Will look into and see if I can find a fix
Does this allow me to steam my games from anywhere out of home had long my internet is commected to my pc at home and steam deck is connected to the internet or do i need to be home at all times in order for this to work?
yes you can remote play even if you are not at home all you need is access to the internet and the steam remote play app! :)
Is it a sort of cloud gaming but using my pc instead of external servers?
Question how can I stream it on my RUclips channel on steam if I already have games purchased on steam how can I stream it to my channel
Guys, I start a remote play compatible game and invite a friend who's on an iPad. She accepts via Steam Chat and sees the transmission via Steam Link... but she can't hear me and I can't hear her. Anyone any idea how to make the microphones work? I can't find any tutorial or anything that helps me.
If i use a hdmi cable from laptop to tv is there any need for the games on steam to be remote playable? Or can i play any game off steam regardless of it saying remote play
might get lag
Got stuck with the 4 digit code. Tutorial not complete!
I hope it works for me to play on it i have days trying to find out how to

I just got a gaming laptop and was trying to enable remote play myself. After about 45 minutes I found myself here. Not helpful. I did figure out how to make it work though.
If using two computers, both need an UP TO DATE steam client. This was my problem, as my host computer's client was not up to date. As long as you're logged into the same account on both computers (and steam is open on both computers) You should get a green button on the games you want to play that says STREAM instead of PLAY. If you're not getting this button, but instead getting an INSTALL button, click the down arrow to the right of the INSTALL button and select the device that has the game currently installed. You should now see the STREAM button.
Please note that this also starts the game on the host machine, so your games should be installed on a dedicated gaming PC, not a family PC because someone else might be using that computer and mess things up for you. Hope this helps anyone else who came here looking for answers!
Hero! That ended up being my issue too.
how to instal the steam link app?
so in order to link both pc you need to be able to use both pc at SAME time
No one pc with both accounts
@@techtutortutorials what. I mean if I wanna play from my laptop using the same account and the resources of my main desktop pc. Remote play
@@er4manu258 ok my bad misread your question no as long as you have the remote play app installed you won’t need your main pc turned on
@@techtutortutorialssteam link app? So you need access to both pc to make the code link connection between em. And in order to play from the laptop, you need your main pc at least in sleep mode, right? Could you make a video of how you connect a desktop to a laptop and show some game running? It's quite confusing
someone started controlling my computer when I was playing on Steam
Oh no, that sounds like a scary situation! Make sure to update your antivirus software and run a full scan on your computer to check for any potential malware or remote access programs.
@@techtutortutorials oki ty
prob because someone got into your account on steam or your using other people’s accounts
could i play the same game at the same time with two different computer?
yes
How do i fix that i cant hear sound when joining?
so you need a dedicated computer to run... what is the point of this? Why don't I just play it on my computer?
Because the goal is to stream to your big screen.
To my understanding, you can turn the split-screen local games into long-range multiplayer games using this, or (what I intend to use it for) play a game on a laptop on the go or at a friend's house while my actual gaming pc runs the game at my house. Niche? Yeah 100% but that seems to be the use
😅 Its so you don't have to buy a gaming laptop for on-the go gaming or move your gaming rig to another room like the LR. I plan on using it on an old Dell Optiplex I have in the LR to play AAA gamez meng
How do u do it on chromebook
How do I do it for steam deck
please a tutorial for that background
