I found myself clapping and cheering with the rest of the audience at the beginning of this clip. God bless all these wonderful people. They brought so much happiness into the world for others!
I think that was the last time that the complete Gilligan Island cast were reunited, because most of the actors passed away in the 90s. I grow up watching this series dubbed in spanish in mexican tv in the 70s.. I remember another reunion in ALF, where they were in the Aliens dream.
What a great discovery...I forgot this show ever existed (it became'The Arsenio Hall Show'), and it has the distinction of hosting the only full reunion of the 'GI' cast. Hale, Backus and Schafer all within a few years of this, so it really was perfect timing. RIP Sherwood Schwartz and the rest of the dear, departed castaways.
For years, I thought GI ran for 5 seasons or more; then we bought the DVD set, and it was just the three years....my fave is the "treasure cannon-balls" episode....Professor's gavel shooting coconut milk everywhere, and the card-tricks between Howell and Skipper (never showing them actually doing the tricks, lol!)...this was TV at it's finest, I don't care what anybody says....
JIm Backus looks and sounds much better than expected. He passed only a year later and has beenm ill for years. Yet, he seemed very alert and sharp. Such a great man.
Whenever i watch this, i always burst into tears i miss all the castaways so much...:( I am doing a disease report about thyroid cancer in honor of the Skipper, because he died of thyroid cancer.:( LOVE U CASTAWAYS! XD
Jim Backus passed on July 3, 1989, Alan Hale passed on Jan 2, 1990, Natalie Shafer passed on April 10, 1991 and Bob Denver passed on Sept 2, 2005. Russell Johnson, Tina Louise and Dawn Wells are still living. You all changed our lives and we love you.
Natalie Schafer was around 87 years old here, and an absolute delight. (She was also pretty smokin' hot for her age. When she smiles it lights up the whole screen).
Sherwood Schwartz looked really old in this reunion and yet he lived another 20 plus years from when this reunion took place. Schwartz died a little less than a week from right now. RIP Sherwood Schwartz.
So sad, this was a yea before Backus' death and then within the next 3 years 2 more were gone (The Skipper in 90 and Lovey in 91) and now there are only 2 left
@TruthWs where was the ice broken between Tina and Dawn, I'm looking for that part of the clip! I wish Tina just chilled and enjoyed her fortune of being on a much-loved show...
Well Isn't that something, the bit about the lion. Iv`e been surfing around youtube, and found a "I Dream Of Jeannie" reunion .. What a coincidence, as there biggest memory also involved a lion, which scared the hell out of Larry Hagman :P
To bad tina was never as enthusiastic like dawn about the show my favorite was gingers interaction with the skipper and gilligan the skipper wanted her in the worst way and gilligan was scared to death of her. Although in the dreams ginger was almost always gilligans love intrest.
That show was so idiotic. The Howell's always had some big suitcase full of cash and jewels - as if they would have brought that on a '3 hour tour"! LOL
When Gilligan is barricading the door, and then sits on the bed, you can see shadows of , I guess, the filming crew on the floor in the upper right corner...
For an 88 year old in 1988 , Natalie Schafer was so beautiful and lively.
Born in 1900. The last year of the 19th Century!
I found myself clapping and cheering with the rest of the audience at the beginning of this clip.
God bless all these wonderful people. They brought so much happiness into the world for others!
I'm 14 and I have all the Episodes on DVD. I LOVE Gilligan's Island. No other show can compare in the 20th or 21st Century!
Your 24 now. Hopefully I helped you find this comment again ! :)
3 years made them immortal.
I still have all 3 seasons of this show on DVD that I look at nearly every night when I'm off the road. Loved it!!!!
Gilligan makes me happy
This was the perfect reunion for the show, everyone was there including Tina and it took place one year before 3 of the core cast members passed away.
My favorite Mr. Howell line is: "I speak the universal language... MONEY." LOL!!!!!
One of a kind classic.
I love the Jim Backus voice....pure gold
I am very happy about my favorite tv show
It's awesome to see the Howells and how the audience was cheering for them... :)
The Howells were so loved. They looked incredible especially the Mrs.!
This is the last time you have all the cast together. Backus dies a year later, followed next year by Hale and then Schafer a year after that.
I think that was the last time that the complete Gilligan Island cast were reunited, because most of the actors passed away in the 90s. I grow up watching this series dubbed in spanish in mexican tv in the 70s.. I remember another reunion in ALF, where they were in the Aliens dream.
I think it's awesome that she dressed as Mrs. Howell, gloves and all. Such a beautiful lady. Notice they got the biggest applause.
Glad I found this!! G.I. is timeless!! These actors are timeless!! I'm glad I got it. LIVE LONG GILLIGAN'S ISLAND AND THIS CAST!!!!
Natalie comes off as such a sweet lady. The Howells were a bit underrated in the show, but their characters are so iconic.

what a great show

I always wish Lovey Howel had been my mom, or at least my favorite aunt.
JIm Backus looks and sounds much better than expected. He passed only a year later and has beenm ill for years. Yet, he seemed very alert and sharp. Such a great man.
Natalie, hardly looks a day older, even though this was 20 years later. Jim, looks pretty good also...
am glad they did this.
2:54 - Jim Backus never lost it.
RIP professor
Whenever i watch this, i always burst into tears i miss all the castaways so much...:( I am doing a disease report about thyroid cancer in honor of the Skipper, because he died of thyroid cancer.:( LOVE U CASTAWAYS! XD
And funny as hell in "Its a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" lol
Awesome cast and producer. One of the highlights of my youth.
I Love the Lion episode...............I thought that huge cat was Kitty from "The Adams Family" for the longest time!
Wonderful people....how golden Hollywood once was.
If I had one more day to live,I would make sure I watched my Gilligan's Island DVD's
Jim Backus seems in far better shape then his brief appearance in Harlem Globe Trotters on Gilligans Island filmed 7 years before this.
Loved Jim Backus in "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World."
Lol I rember that episode I just saw it yesterday
😅😅😅😅😅😂😂😂😂😂😂
For some reason, when I see Jim Backus in this, I'm reminded of Burgess Meredith.
Yes you are right. He does favor Burgess Meredith when he got older.
Yes, indeed.
Awe I love Alan Hale and Natalie Schafer sooooooo much! Best Couple in the World!
OMG. Goosebumps.
Natalie Schaefer was always an iconically beautiful and elegant woman. Just a delight to watch and listen to.
When America was great!
this is getting better all the time--i thank you for posting this-and these are television gem moments.of all time-
I would of love to see a 2020
rerun, one of the best shows back in the days...😘😘😘😘
Priceless!
THAT WAS SO GREAT THAT THEY ALL SHOWED UP!!!!!
chat show boy: 'A Howell is a servant to no man'.
Jim Backus: Oh, God, say it again.
LOL!
awesome! i love gilligans island!! love all the castmembers!!
Thanks for posting, HNK222. Lots of memories there.
thank you for the upload. Loved Gilligan's Island as a kid. Some great trivia in here.
Jim Backus - awesome in "Rebel Without A cause!"
WOW, to see the whole cast together is awesome. Surprised to see Tina Louise
show up.
I Think Of All Of The 7 Castaways The Applause & Cheers Lasted A Bit Longer When Jim Backus & Natalie Schafer Came Out On The Stage!
Who remembers the cartoon "Gilligan's planet"?
Natalie Schafer was around 87 years old here, and an absolute delight. (She was also pretty smokin' hot for her age. When she smiles it lights up the whole screen).
Sherwood Schwartz looked really old in this reunion and yet he lived another 20 plus years from when this reunion took place. Schwartz died a little less than a week from right now. RIP Sherwood Schwartz.
i love the howells :)
The gillagans island is SO good
This is GOLD!!!!
But the question still remains ,what made the skipper the skipper? Please refresh my memory!rlb
So sad, this was a yea before Backus' death and then within the next 3 years 2 more were gone (The Skipper in 90 and Lovey in 91) and now there are only 2 left
Can we go back to 1988?
I just read Russell Johnson wanted to be on Star Trek! I could just hear it now, "He's dead, SKIPPER!"
Natalie looked great for 88 years old. She actually lived in the 19th century.
Jim didn’t seem like he had Parkinson’s here, no shakes. He passed a year after this clip.
@TruthWs where was the ice broken between Tina and Dawn, I'm looking for that part of the clip! I wish Tina just chilled and enjoyed her fortune of being on a much-loved show...
Ross kind of moved fast past Jims book deal there. I mean he could have said go out and buy a copy or something
Well Isn't that something, the bit about the lion. Iv`e been surfing around youtube, and found a "I Dream Of Jeannie" reunion .. What a coincidence, as there biggest memory also involved a lion, which scared the hell out of Larry Hagman :P
Jim Backus will always be Mr. Magoo to me.
To me, he will be Judge Bradley J. Stevens on 'I Married Joan'. (Don't figure out my age, LOLOLOLOLOL).
Yup, you're pushing the button of the "Way Back Machine" right there. That's farther back than even I care to go, so I'll leave it alone.......
I love this show so much! Is this show still on the air? If so, what station and what time?
All these people that were in their 50s in the 1960s and 1970s looked elderly, yet they looked the same until they died in their 80s or 90s. So weird!
Ross Shafter has a late night show at 11pm , I am not sure what was the network.
It would have been funnier if they'd brought a live lion out and said it was the lion from that episode, he wanted to be in on the reunion too!
Natalie Schaefer really IS Mrs. Howell.
thankyou for uploading this...sadly 4 of them have passed away....
That's Harry Knowles from Aint It Cool News.
yes it was,I just can't believe that skipper Gilligan, and mr and mrs Howell are no longer around
Sad to say that Jim Backus was already ill at his taping, RIP and thanks, to the cast that have gone.
Sherwood shwarts died today in L.A, i think I spelled his name wrong though. He was the producer.
Mr Howell sounded like Palpatine from Star Wars.
He was near death at the time, passing away a year later. He had trouble speaking and even moving to his chair.
@DarthSideous63 Considering the acting background Reed had, he would never have taken the Brady job if he knew what he was in for.
I could see Russell Johnson getting into arguments with Spock on Star Trek about who is the most LOGICAL...HA,HA!!.
@birdgirl2014 I realized that after I wrote it and hit delete but it didn't delete. Maybe just her career is dead.
@KaptKan1 Storekeeper, Canfields for Everyone!
How old was Sherwood, he must have been about 100? You know he seems so modest as well. I heard he was a hard task master though.
@BlackAshIndependence i video taped all 3 seasons when it was still on the air, like 10 years ago. try TVLand.
I thought it was a young Michael Moore. ha!
@DarthSideous63 That's because Reed was full of himself. He should have went with Gene Hackman instead.
Alan Hale and Natalie Shaffer havn't changed a bit.
Ross Shafer....what a first class yutz.
To bad tina was never as enthusiastic like dawn about the show
my favorite was gingers interaction with the skipper and gilligan
the skipper wanted her in the worst way and gilligan was scared to death of her.
Although in the dreams ginger was almost always gilligans love intrest.
So Bob could've gotten hurt or worse if the bed had been secured! Yikes!
Of course according to Sherwood Schwartz the 🛏️ did move .Rlb
A Howell is a servant to no man.
Until Phil Silvers aka Harold Hekuba broke Mr Howell.
Gilligan looks a bit uncomfortable in here.
I'm glad to see Natalie Schaffer without those blue eyebrows...
Don't throw this on me i know they are i was just saying on this video man.
A much older friend of mine knew Jim Baccus and said of him , "That cheap SOB never paid for a round of drinks in his life !"
Russel Johnson is the only surviving male cast member. Tina Louise and Dawn Wells, are still alive.
I understand that Russell Johnson had a traumatic experience with the suicide of a close family member? Is that true? I'm not sure of the details.....
Gilligan hasn't either he just has white hair
