R.I.P. Ron, Robert and Marcia. Thanks for all the laughs! 70's sitcoms were absolutely timeless, and Welcome Back Kotter was no exception!

I respect John for not forgetting where he got his start. Some get to his level of stardom and get a massive case of amnesia. Don't even talk to their former co-workers. But acting seems like the kind of business with a LOT of career ups-and-downs. May be best to stay grounded like that. Keep you from freaking or drugging out during the low periods.

The entertainment business has broken so many relationships and caused so much personal turmoil. I love that these guys are all still close and love each other. Seeing them together is kinda like a family reunion because they were a big part of my childhood.

It's really cool for Travolta agreeing to be a part of this reunion since if he wasn't a part of it they wouldn't have put this on GMA and he gave the chance to his co-stars to get some attention again.

I just havta say, that it was love at first sight for me and "Welcome back Kotter". It was the fall of 1975. One of my most favorite shows. And I also have to say that John Travolta has a lot of humility to sit with his co-stars and talk so fondly of that show. Most big stars want nothing to do with their early years. I give him alot of credit!!! He really gets razzed at times, and he doesn't deserve it. Glad for his success and his taking chances with all different roles, especially "Hairspray".

My late mother attended New Utrecht High School, where the show was set, and being on the autism spectrum and anorexic, she was in the remedial class. She watched the show every week to see if any of the situations resembled her childhood, and always thought Gabe Kaplan was impersonating Groucho Marx.

As always, a bigot who doesn't know history.Jews only were in the business of lending money, because there was a social stigma against it, and someone had to fill the people's need to borrow money. This is no different than, how certain casts in India or other countries are looked down upon, because they butcher meat, and there is a stigma associated with handling anything dead, in some cultures. Truth is, Many Jews got into the art, film, and TV industries, because much like many Gay folks, it was the only job they could get and be themselves. Fact is, some Jews who survived the Nazi Death Camps, went on the Freedom Rides, organized by Bayard Rustin, the the out Black Gay man, who also organized MLK JRs, March on Washington. Accompanying them were, Japanese who had been held in American Internment or as I should say, concentration camps, Latinos, Whites, and of course Blacks, they rode buses throughout the South to protest segregation at bus stations android rest stops. One of the buses with Bayard and some college students board, was set on fire by the Klu Klux, Klan. So, before you continue to shout out your ignorance and hate, just be aware that, it's in the best interest of the 1%' to keep all the various segments of American society separated and fighting amongst ourselves, so we will be too distracted to see them rob us of our country. Let's not forget how the news reporters in LA kept talking about Korea Town better watch out for Blacks looting and rioting, to focus the anger of people towards Korea Town, and away from the well of White neighborhoods, where the case was tried.
Your ignorance stinks, not go away.

I actually saw Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs at Walgreens last month as I was checking out & he was entering the store. No one recognized him but me. I'd asked the lady behind me did she remember that show she said no but she'd ask her husband. about it. I wanted to say something to him but didn't want him to feel like I was bothering him. I immediately called one of my friends & told her he was in the store & she said "really, are you gonna say something to him?" I told her didn't wanna bug him, then she said "he may appreciate the fact that you recognize him especially at your age". My Mom use to lovvve Welcome Back Kotter so my brother & I grew up watching it. 📺

It's interesting how they talk about genuinely caring for each other and still being friends because these bits of trivia from IMDB suggest otherwise:
In a 1978 People magazine article, Marcia Strassman stated that she did not get along with Gabe Kaplan and that she disliked working on the series. She tried to be released from her contract by publicly lambasting Kaplan. The rift split up the cast as Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs and Robert Hegyes sided with Kaplan and Ron Palillo sided with Strassman. John Travolta remained friendly with both. Palillo stated that he was happy when Kaplan left the series after the third season.
    And this:
Marcia Strassman (Julie Kotter) said she hated working on this show. She said her character was very boring and sumissive, and in particular she hated working with Gabe Kaplan who she said was very temperamental and difficult to work with. She expressed her displeasure to the press when she was on the show, saying she hopes it gets canceled. Ironically, now it's the main thing she's remembered for.

Love this show to death... actually have it on dvd. Ron Palillo was not happy with the show. He was a trained Shakespearean actor, and did not appreciate the lowbrow comedy, even though it made him a star. But, I read that somewhere 20 years ago. He may have changed his mind about that, I don't know. I was glad to see JT there. I live in Ocala, Fl...his adopted home. We hear stories of JT sightings all over the place! LOL

Here’s a great idea… When you do a cast reunion to see what everybody else has been up to all these years, don’t let the guy who you know what he’s been doing all of these years hog the interview. We barely hear from anybody else in the room because John Travolta hogs all the screen time. Not only that but he brought along an extra Travolta who was barely a blip on the radar on that show as a guest star. If anyone was to be asked who the cast members of this sure, nobody would write down Ellen Travolta. Go home, Chachi’s mom, you are not wanted here.
