Agreed. I just bought 2 of them to test out, and they are nice, especially if you put the comic in their Perserver bag. It fits perfectly with no movement in that case.
Great review. I agree with you. This in between market is just too expensive and unnecessary. Either a top loader or get it graded I think are the best options.
I have had a few of these and it looks good but was just a temporary solution tillni can get them to a regular grading company. I still have some but i just mifhtbleave them in there. Cool video.
@@ComicsRediscovered I actually like to read my valuable Golden Age ones, although I literally handle them with kid gloves each and every time, ones that are made out of latex. 😉 They are something of an investment after all.
I think slabs and cases are nice but if u take care of your books u can still use the old bag and boards !! Unless u dropping your books all over I stick to old school lol
Haha yes but people like to display their books. Not everyone but select issues, favorite covers etc. I personally rotate through what is out on display so they never spend too long out anyways
I mean DYI at home with comic skins doesn't work because noone gives a shit what some random person thinks the book's grade is. No different than if it were raw, just because it's in a comic skin slab. So that will never replace CGC or CBCS. CGC/CBCS graders are people in the industry that have been members of the collecting community for decades and as well as being Advisors for Overstreet and have extensive restoration detection tools and experience. So I mean it's a no brainer.
Boring
You always do good reviews. Thank you.
My pleasure, hope it was helpful! Cheers
Thickness of the plastic doesn't indicate UV resistance at all. There are paper-thin uv-resistant sheets made for commercial frames.
Indeed, the mention of the thickness was in regard to resiliency and how it might fair against being hit or dropped
I got over my fear of parting with my book when my first submissions came back all 9.8’s😅
That certainly makes it easier hahah
Ultra Pro Slabs are great. I love those. And they are UV Protected.

They've just gotta figure out the pricing to make it work in a lot of cases

Thanks man, they do look pretty good. But I wouldn't fill my collection with them
I just prefer to stick with Mylar and acid free Full Back backing boards and boxes being that I prefer to read my back issues.
I like to read mine too, except for key or valuable issues. I have a TPB collection for those ones haha thanks for watching and commenting!

@@cha5 you have more nerve than I do haha

Most of my collection is bagged boarded and in boxes. But I like slabs for certain things. Thanks for watching!
Those are the exact same cases EGS used before they went over to their new cases. Personally I don't care for the hinges on them. but that my 2 cents
Ya the hinges certainly distract. The EGS cases are much better than this now that they've moved to their own slabs
Leave it in a dark room and that takes care of the UV issue. Not like you have to see the comic every day.

agreed, certainly not a replacement for grading a book. thanks for watching and commenting
Too bad this is an expensive option.
Ya I agree. Is nice for protection or display at a lower price point
Great vid dude! Cant trust CGC anymore, PGX it is hahahahah jk
😂
to me they are
me too
No. Next question.
🤣
