    Since the Deus 2 came on to the scene mate, my old D1 has taken a back seat some what, which is only to be expected when new and exciting models come our way. So a day out on a busy little test site like this one with the D1 and HF coil took me back and reminded me of the years of sucsessful searches I've had with it. You demonstrated some essential tweaks when amongst the Iron which is not always the enemy of detectorists.

    Great info as usual Gary! I am glad you are still thinking of us poor plebs with the Deus1 LOL! Personally I have the audio response as a start point at 4 becasue I am a bit deaf and I need a bit more "punch" so I can hear the higher tones. I only go higher if the field is *really* quiet , otherwise I find myself digging for "fly specs" of metal :)

    Can i ask, close to 2025 is the deus 1 still worth getting? Example will a 7yr or a 10yr old Deus 1 machine still out perform a modern £300 machine? And example on eBay £350 Deus1, HF white eliptical coil,
    Control box
    Ws headphones
    Charging cables.

    Great to see the deus one out with the hf coil again,until the D 2 gets an eliptical hf coil the D 1still gets my vote for the extreme iron sites over the D2,but both are brilliant machines😮😮😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

  • @bluecreekdetectors
    @bluecreekdetectors 10 месяцев назад +1

    Man i still love that HF coil. I use it especially in a lot of machinegun iron sites. I will use your tweaks.
    My detecting partner has been finding targets with the D2 where i have swept over, but also vice versa. The two machines compete very similarly.
    I think i need to use that Audio Sensitivity setting more. I mostly use your sonar program on machinegun iron. It seems to manifest items from thin...ground 😂

    Hey,Gary.Fantastic video again! What is your opinion about those settings on deep program?And if we searching for example denarius , not those little roman - will be 14.4 khz good choice for them with this higher reactivity and coil ?

    • @The-skillschool

  • @lecarnute
    @lecarnute 10 месяцев назад +1

    Hi Gary, I follow your steps on my roman fields. Using 2 or 3 tones is not good for your ear, I think it might hurt it always exactly the same frequency. Full tones is way more convenient for your ear

    Hi, i have the x35 9 inch coil and i have the 9x5 elliptical hf coil
    I have a site thats heavy in iron, it was a residence in the 1900 and the house is no longer standing, lots of nails and various big iron
    I tried last time searching it in the goldfield program with disc iar maxed out with the elliptical coil in 30khz and it did pretyy good at ignoring the big iron, but i did dig a few bittlecaps
    Any suggestions for my next round at that field?

    • @The-skillschool
      @The-skillschool  8 месяцев назад

      Try the same approach and settings, possibly change reactivity to get the best results.

    • @The-skillschool

      Sure, change frequency or use frequency offset.
      I'm sure I have videos on that subject.

      Hello gary! have you any very very deep program for deus 1? to dig coins where I have already passed many times. Sorry for my English

    • @The-skillschool
      @The-skillschool  3 месяца назад +1

      Goldfield is the deepest.

    • @digginggopher
      @digginggopher 2 месяца назад

      If you don't need to go very deep you can reduce audio response and the machine will quiet up, but be careful the deus one doesn't like super low audio response, the machine gets so quiet it's hard to hear, at least if the audio is coming through the remote, I usually go to AR of 2 at the lowest, maybe you could go lower if you use headphones idk I only used the headphones once when I forgot my remote at home

    • @The-skillschool
      @The-skillschool  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes try the Goldfield program.
      Disc IAR 5 and use a frequency to suit your desired targets

    Hello gary!
    what is your opinion if we search for iron sounds deep in the forest. is the x35 coil even better than the hf coil then?

    • @The-skillschool
      @The-skillschool  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes use the lower frequencies on the X35 for deep targets in the Forrest.

  • @robertfrancisco1193

    the HF COIL really makes the DEUS 1 SOUND OFF. PROBLEY THE BEST SMALL COIL FOR THAT UNITE. what do you say!

      It is not good practice to reject non-ferrous targets like large Aluminium.
      To eliminate bottle caps completely you need a multi frequency machine.
      Even they can be fooled by steel bottle caps.

    • @digginggopher
      @digginggopher 2 месяца назад

      The deus one with the high frequency 9x5 coil, and maybe the 9in HF coil, I don't have the 9in, have a very noticable bottle cap tone, it's kinda makes a grindy noise, if you only have the x35 coil wiggle the coil back and if you get iron tones on the edge of the target it's probably a bottle cap
