Sir, So happy to see you back again. Few hours back, when I saw Nirmala seetaraman showing her "power of arrogance" on a district collector, you came on to my memory.I wondered when would the mid week matters resume.
I second your thoughts. Even today, we are by and large treated as secondary grade citizens chiefly because we made them feel that we have no courage to stand up for south.
We in the south seem to be bearing the load... yet we have done more than our fair share only to be exploited. The soft gentle nature and welcoming smiles are taken for granted.
Parakala sir: Why have you stopped your weekly feature "Midweek Matters"? Many of us simply lapped up / shared your videos. One of the voices in the wilderness of insanity in this country.
Sir Mr. Mohan Guruswamy makes a statement that Samrat Ashoka Never came down South. If so Why was Jonnagiri the Southern capital of the Magadhan empire. Why do you have the Erragudi Rock edicts of Ashoka in what is now Gooty which again is near to Jonnagiri. The region of present day Rayalaseema was the sole source of Diamonds untill Diamonds were found in Africa in the 15th or 16th century. This region was also gold producing region hence lot of interest amongst all the ruling dynasties.
Scholars of economics, sociology, history and politics. That's what the couple of you Shri Parakala Prabhakar and Shri Mohan Guruswami are. We need more of such Dialogues to let lesser erudite and lesser informed people know what the Union of States of India with its diverse history and culture is . Thanks and congratulations !
History has been written by either victors or majority, in both case northerners will drive the agenda, starting from mythology itself. But things have got worse after 1947 due representative structure in parliament and it is getting bad with this govt agenda.
Damn it! Adding to his slang which makes it difficult to understand him, the audio is not good. Why don't you take care of such an important aspect of an interview? Ithink it is recorded on the beach location. That spoiled it. Should gave been in a studio. The subject is so interesting but disappointed it is not sinking in properly. Please run sub titles on screen in good english. Thanks anyway for the transcript.
This discussion doesn't focus. It is worthless for common man of South or North East. These two are confused about what they sat down to discuss. Only positive about this discussion is about discoveries of English and recording them on paper. That is less than 5minutes. Rest is just diatribe
History is alive in our culture, stories and the works of the people gone by. But it's only available for those who diligently search for it. The framework of India's history is what the British historians wrote. An excellent new book is "Lords of the Deccan" by Anirudh Kanisetti.
