How much for it my friend needs parts
Pull the top off of the injection pump and clean the screen out. Pull the lines off the top and there's four or five bolts. It's not hard to do.
Nope. Not it.
@@tacticalrepair well are you keeping what it is a secret or do you really not know? Lol
Wiley: ''Just all my life I've been around Junk, and had to get it started.'' I have that in common too with everything on the farm. 🤣Lol Hank my doc made me give up the soda too when I hit 50 three years ago. Wasn't easy, that stuff is addicting and tastes good. Eventually I went to a light Keto diet cutting out carbs and I've lost 20 pounds and feel better than I did 10 years ago. I always listen to my elders on my dad's side though....they've all made it to 92 or older and 3 lived over 100. They say the key to good health and long life is being happy, positive, and to never stop living! Love seeing you and Wiley doing just that, doing fun things and living! God bless you pal!
After 22 years in the Army I still love the sound of those old trucks cranking up. I was a maintenance officer but I didn’t work on them. I’ve got a lot of old buddies who would know.
cool
Thank you for serving. 👍🇺🇸
Thank you for making our country free and for serving .godbless and saloot
Officer's do a lot of paperwork and the other times making sure the personal under them are doing what their supposed to be doing. Besides, boss's for GMC are there to tell the workers to get something done, not to do it themselves or they get in trouble.
The water has created trash in the injector pump. Either take the pump off and clean it or replace it.
i think youre right
Actually, the water has turned the pump into trash. An injector pump won't pump water.
@@MrEferrell
That makes sense. Sort of anyway.
The injector pump itself has a screen in it, and I'm sure it's clogged up. I was in 3 units in the Army and the first 2 units used JP8 fuel, the 3rd Unit was still using diesel but had to switch over to JP8 in about 1996. When they switched, the JP8 (which is kerosene based) cleaned out the years of contaminates from the diesel system and it all got pushed into the filters and injector pump clogging them up as well. The whole system would have to be cleaned and it usually clogged everything twice before being clean enough to run the JP8.
Love the Elvis figurine. And I love what y’all do. God bless
God bless
Hi Hank and Wiley I think you guys are on the right track with the injector pump. I am thinking it could be full of sludge like what was in the filter canisters. It could have rust from all the water sitting in the fuel lines that could have got particles in to the injector pump or could the old fuel turned to a varnish and make moving parts stick. That's what I thought it could be.Elvis was hanging on the passenger door. Thanks for the video. 👍🇦🇺
Cheers!
All air has to be pumped out before pump will operate which takes a while with no hand pump on them but could be the pump good to see it run can't be much all the best to you all
Thanks Guys, my Dad drove one in the military. He's now resting in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bunnell, Florida.
GOD BLESS YOU HANK AND WILEY !
I’m grateful for his service
When Wiley say, this thing making oil, that means it’s gonna start,,,,love you guy’s god bless 👍👍👍
Boys are sure do love watching yawls shows, I am my private jet pilot, but it takes me back home to my Eastern Kentucky roots watching your show. I can tell you a little trick about that injector pump, take the delivery valves out of the top of the pump where the injector lines go in, clean that with some carb and choke cleaner really good (I know it’s not a carburetor) haha but that could do the trick, I would try that before I dumped a lot of money into a injector pump. Those things are not cheap.
Elvis is hanging out on the deuce and a half! Right side!
Ole Elvis hanging out watching Wiley hook up them batteries. Thank you. Thank you very much.
🕺🏻👍
You are the Vera best of old Trucks Reschke und starting old Trucks
Great video seen Elvis hangout on the door while Wiley installs the battery
seen elvis on the door yelling theirs water in the tank boys mayday mayday. lol. they sure dont like water. yall get her. cheers guys.
Lol
Good to see you again hank you are wiley are a lot of fun watching good luck buddys
Thanks 👍
With that much water i would see some damage to the fuel injectors and rust and algae plugging lines and water can also be very abrasive. Its a fuel pump killer for sure which is too bad i have seen many fuel injectors scored and pitted . And if it ever froze with any water in the system thats a whole other set of problems .
Yeah I agree with that.
Have you guys tried pulling the fuel shut off cover off? There is a lever inside that likes to stick. It could be stuck in the FUEL OFF position thus causing fuel not to reach the injectors. The cover is right there on the side being held on with two screws. It's a 5 minute job.
Exactly what I said when Hank tried starting the 5 ton before. I know because I’ve been there with my own deuces.
HEY GUYS!! did you guys make sure you still had good pressure from the lift pump in the tank? you guys had great pressure when you were pumping water out of the filter housing at first but right before you guys put the filter canisters back on with the new filters it was only dribbling fuel out and you even commented on how slow it was. did you guys get it to flow good again before putting the filters on? it could be a plugged lifter pump filter in the tank. that would be a cheap fix too! great show guys!!! hope to see it running
Was fortunate enough to have a customer who took me with him to Mississippi and I worked on 26 of these monsters they would tractors with the Cummins engine I got 24 out of them running out in that swampy murky unpredictable weather the two trucks that I couldn't get running will only be cost of split transmission casings cracked blocks,, and destroyed PTO sub transmission failure...
And those things started on anything.... They had to make it to the doc to be able to drive up to be shipped out of the country and it was a great experience....
Gotta love a bit of Elvis on the door. 🤣🤣
You keep saying you are not a mechanic but i keep seeing you discussing and performing mechanic work
bleed air from hydrolic head bold on the side. see page 3-97 from manual. crack open bleedscrew on the head of the pump a 1/4 inch with fuel pump on rotate the pump until droplets come out then close.
I just wanted to tell ya I love the show I enjoy it so much y'all have a good one God bless bye.
That was amazing how that much water could enter a fuel tank.
You two please Keep entertaining us!👍🏼
I know I'm late but Elvis was on the passenger side door above the battery tray on the 2.5. Great video guys.
🕺🏻👍
Seen ol Elvis again. Love looking for the figurine. And as always love the videos and clean content. God bless.
Thanks buddy!
Maybe air in the system for the fuel system just need cleaned out I told you guys last time I still would like to have it . Maybe the switch is bad or is not getting any juice to the pump. Send it to me I'll get it started for you and even send you a video
Everything is for sale :)
Blow the fuel line and injectors line from diesel gum put in some Lucas what about silicone the fuel gauge and duct tape it down as the tape is the screws
Try C & C Equipment, they sell and work on all types of surplus equipment. You can find them on You Tube. They should give you some information.
Saw Elvis hanging out on the side of the truck above the battery! 😂😂
🕺🏻👍
Ether is just hard on the pistons and if its not done right it can blow up and blow a piston out of whatever your working on. We use wd 40 here in texas but of course its not as cold here as it is other places
I love watching you two fellas work together, you have such a fun partnership!
Wiley is a lot of fun to hang out with!
Fill your filter half way with Lucas injector cleaner and let it work through. I've had it work for me before.
👍
Hank and Whilley can't belive you gave up not like you can't belive it it did run on either pump pull the pump guts out and put cheap electric on and start it never miss a video thank you for sharing and your time was really great loved it
Hi there they are fun things to work on them brings back lot of great times I wish you were in Canada and close to the west coast I would love to help
When you have the line to the filter off, crank it and see if the fuel pump spits bfore you mess with the filters. Then if it fuel get to the filters then see if it is rea hing the injector pump, if it does then it's the injector pump.
starting fluid will crack piston's in a diesel iv seen it way to many times. there's a stainless in the top of the cav injection pump just be easy you don't wreck the seals and make sure it got enough fuel in it .
Good to have Elvis supervising the battery connection!
Keep at it you guys. Love to see it run and drive again
Hank &. Wiley, you comedic commentary and everything you do is always entertaining. Even though I have alerts set up for when a new video drops, I always check to see if you have another ready to go. By far, this is the best channel on RUclips. I always look forward to the next video. Hopefully there will be a part three to the deuce n a half. Side note: I go back and watch older videos from time to time. They hold their value so much. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks for the comment! We appreciate you
Well hank and Wiley, you done it again ,another great video, everyone has already said what i was going to, Hank i think you best bet would be to go with Wrenching with Rob's offer of getting that extra fuel from him he offered you, it would save you and Wiley a bundle of time, and when you replace the pump, have Wileys service truck there to use the compressor to blow out the injector lines, no guarantee , it just might to clean them out, i sure hope you make a part 3 to this deuce and a half they are great trucks, and get the small hardware and sealant for the fuel tank pump it does help to pressurize the fuel system, use to make difference when use to farm tractors for Versatile Farm Eq. 👍
Thanks Bob!
Elvis is chilling on the door with the army truck
🕺🏻👍
You had this with one of these before. That loose injector line is a sign someone had problems with it before you!
That’s right
The lift pump isn't pushing enough fuel to keep it running and prime the injection pump and keep it running properly. Probably not enough fuel in the tank or the filter sock in the tank is clogged that's causing this issue.
I'd think the water going thru the fuel system you just don't know. There could b a screen in the pump plugged up it seemed to try n run
However being you have it as far as you do. I'd take n conferm the shut down is in the open position,
Then use more starting aid even though I don't agree on. Open that throttle wide open n try to bleed.
If not that pump may b shot. The filters were full of water how far up stream did it go?
If there is a hand primer on the fuel pump check to see if it is plugged the fuel has to go through the hand pump to get to the injectors. Good luck.
The multifuel didn't have a primer. The pump is all you had to work with, as long as it worked. If not you could put 5psi of air pressure into the tank to force prime the system. It was a very simplistic design. The engine could run without the pump even running, as long as there was no leaks to allow it to drain back when shut off.
When it is running "on Heather" the motor sounds good, keep up the good work.
I think Elvis could hook up those batteries because I saw him on the door
🕺🏻👍
Yes boys, clean the injector pump😁
I saw elvis on the passenger door great video you two 👍
Need to save that one, a great farm truck!😃
I worked on one of those for two weeks. And tried everything but the fuel pump. And it had all the same problems from sitting with the pump loose on the top of the tank. Finally put a rebuild injector pump on it. And it ran like new..
Put cattail heads in that and let them soak. Put the stick end into a bucket and let them 'dry a bit' - then into a bucket of sand and give it a light at night. Bug killer.
Those hydraulic heads are $450 for a remanned one. I have one for sale $250/shipped
I never worked on them, just drove the wheels off them and the white one was a 5-ton. This is a 2 1/2 ton but G.I. was G.I. GBWYall!
I rode in a couple of those it was good times when I was 18 along time ago
Wiley's wild ride part 2 👍😂🤣😀
In my eyes you Guy's got it running, I said it before and l will say it again, no matter what the outcome is, I enjoy watching you're videos, and this was a another great video, good job Guy's!
Did someone put the garden hose in there
That is so much water
That fuel pump is not a water pump they don’t like water
Take all the fuel Lin’s off and blow them out and you will see what the top of the pump looks like
Good effort from you both 👍👍👍
Somebody else mentioned it already but on the inlet side of your pump I’d imagine after seeing your filters the inlet screen is plugged up. I’m going thru something similar myself on an international backhoe, inlet screen was plugged up which is remedied now but I’m into rebuilding the starter as we speak. Somebody cobbled up the wiring on this machine and the ground was less than adequate which we all know caused resistance and burns up brushes.
Pull the center bolt from the hydraulic head that is surrounded by the injector lines. place a chopstick or straw down in there and have someone crank it. It should move up and down about 3/8 of an inch. if it is barely or not moving, the plunger is stuck, common with these IP's. Also, the fuel cutoff lever should work freely and snap back to the forward most position, if it is stuck rearward, it will run away.
Clean Wiley’s whiskers out of the injection pump! 🤣🤣🤣
Hello, put thinner on the injection pump so that it releases the elements of the pump, you will get fuel in the injectors. Put thinner where the diesel enters and leave it for a few days to clean the injection pump
Clean the pump it's full of crap and maybe clean the pick up in the tank aswell . Blow out the lines at the pump to the injectors just to make sure there clean aswell ..
Hey make an IV bag. Some kind of a fuel container that's hanging from A-pole like an IV bag
Let’s see part 3 I believe once you get fuel to the injectors it will to roar! I love those Deuces..😀
I would seal the pump to the tank with screws and blow out all the lines and spary the primary and secondary pump out really good with carb cleaner and see if that would help
You need to add some KolorKut to your list of tools. Put a little on your 'fuel stick' and find out if there is water in the tank first. The injector pump is no doubt ruined as they won't pump water.
Sounds like screen might be stopped up in the pump might be able to clean it 👍
I have faith that y'all will make it run.
Hi guys that's gonna be sealed on the top there where the fuel pump is so of course vacuum
Yes make sure the the pump in the tank is sealed sucking in air through the tank
Another great video hank and whiley on Hamiltonvillie farms 🚜 great fun an enjoyable and entertainment to watch each time thanks guys
I'm not a mechanic by any means - is the bypass to the tank running all the fuel back to the tank ? Try that. That tells the switch. And maybe the water rusted something in the pump.
To Hamilton farm I love this blog I hope you do part two showing it running this truck is to good to scrap you both could have fun with this truck from jeremy mellor england
This is part 2. Part 1 video link is in the description should you wanna watch it. 👍
I think you boys are on to something there with the fuel pump 👍👍🇺🇸
Right on
I saw Elvis! You’ll get that truck running. You got to Follow That Dream ⚡️
🕺🏻👍 wherever that dream may lead!
Great video , hopefully you'll be going back to get that beast running again, it was so close, great effort on it , thanks for sharing Hank and Wiley 👍
Excellent video Hank :) & Wiley :) add 200 ml to Desiel fuel and pump need rebuilt to the butterfly plunger to should give injectors fuel but not you guy right on that happen go on why not working! Bet change pump or get rebuilt be staying going too on motor and did everything right too !
👍
pumps got water and gunk in it there should be a drain in the pump itself if not just take it off and clean it u could take the lines off and keep trying till it runs clear and all the outlets are pumping
Interesting
Elvis on the passenger door. Or was lol thanks guys love watching yall.
I appreciate you watching! Thanks for the comment!
There's also a primary fuel filter over by the alternator! The two yall changed were the secondary filters. It may help!
It's always the same when the fuel stops, take the next thing in line apart. Take apart the injector pump, screen and possible rust. They may sell a kit for it. It looks like a Continental diesel.
Check the pump Timing also & then Clean the pump & all the lines
Because of so much water in the tank my son said you probably gotta take that pump apart and clean it And it will probably flare right up
Hank said: you gotta work for that Cheeseburger 🤣 when you guys get together, you think of the funniest things. I still laugh when Wallie talked about the butter 🤣🤣 you guys are hilarious
We appreciate it 😁👍
Flat bed go add more fuel add screws to the pump assembly and or the injector pump not working
Elvis is always tcb in a hurry on the passenger door love it
LOL Thats Right!
Hey guys i think that sqaure box looking thing between the four set of filters is also a fuel water separator filter box type i recall changing them during my days in eguip.section of army gaurds.may be just plugged up there as well.good luck.snooky pa.
Lines are clogged because of all the water. Throw some fuel stabilizer in the tank
Sounds like you have a stuck fuel rail inside the pump.
Blessings to you guys good work amazing work bless
Thanks 🙏
water has a specific gravity of 1. Petroleum products have specific gravity below one so "oil"
floats on water
With those screws gone out of that pump plate any water that hit the top of the tank went right through those holes. It's not that far under the bed to protect it from the rain. Plus the gasket would leak too. If it was sitting so water coming out of that bed hit the tank it wouldn't take long to fill up.
The Jetts are blocked with dirt on the injector pump I think as it’s funny how the main fuel line that feeds the pump is bleeding really well I’d try look for a good fuel pump or if u can get that one done up cheap enough also another great video that army truck just wants to go again 👌
Elvis is on the passenger side door when you were hooking up the batteries
Have you cleaned the primary filter under the front fender, this filter also has a water drain on it, the flow to the secondary filters looks to low to me, good luck hope to see it running soon
Maybe a shot of castor oil. That will make anything run.
It seems you only loosened the connections to one or two injectors. There are may be air in a line to one or both the remaining injectors. Did you find a purge pump elsewhere on the engine?
I believe it's the ejector pump thanks for the awesome video thanks guys
