This would look coolant not oil correct ?0
?
This is a oil leak when its bad but you need to top off both your coolant and oil after this repair
07 infiniti fx35 the leak I’m having is heavy and occur only when the engine is off
what kind of leak
I have the same engine in my 2008 Nissan Altima 3.5 V6.The O-Ring part # 72493 did not fit my oil cooler (which calls for this vehicle). It was to big in diameter. After doing some research at the auto parts store and some comparing with the old one, Oil Cooler O-ring part # 917-036 (came with a set of 3) matched up identical to the old 1 and fits. For those looking and searching, I hope this helps.
Thank you! That part# did come in handy! Currently doing one for a relative’s car.
It's not the same engine. That's why the gasket doesn't fit. Yes it is a vq but it is a front wheel drive version which does have minor differences
Very brief and simple explanation! Got right to the job no none sense intros. Thank you very helpful!!
thank you!
Thanks for these quick, to-the-point videos
thank you for watching, I appreciate it!
Great vid straight to thr point
This also applies for VQ37s
Nice!
Great video. Knocked it out. Now we wait for NO LEAKS!
Thanks Bro i hope my repair goes as smoothly as yours did! 03 g35 sedan 6 speed manual
Take a like for sharing the torque spec for the fastener, something small but very important.
Great video, fast and simple
Thank you!
Thanks Erick, very helpful watching your video. I have an oil leak too, I don't know where is it coming from, but I will start where your video shows.
Hope you get it fixed thank you
Dope man..I recently replaced my oil pan gasket but still getting oil around that area especially around my oil cooler and my oil pressure is low..hopefully this works 👍
if this doesn't work try the oil pressure sensor and seal next
ERICSDIYGARAGE I actually did the sensor too awhile back 👍 so if the ring doesn’t fix it I have replacement gaskets for my engine manifolds I haven’t installed yet
Hopefully not you gallery gaskets .
Would this allow oil and coolant to mix?
Its possible that the bolt holding the sandwich plate together was just loose
Love your vids. I replaced everything on my infiniti almost.
Is this the same for vq37vhr?
Really helpful vid bro
Simple and educational
Thanks you 🙏
Thanks for the DIY vid. What did you spray on the assembly when you were cleaning it?
Thanks! I was using brake cleaner to clean the surface
What was going on with it for you having to change it
I'm assuming you didn't watch the video
Keep up the good work man.
thank you bro🙏
Best most simple video 👍🏽
Thank you, I appreciate it 👊🏼
Great tutorial and to the point👍
Thank you!
This the same engine in the 3.5 2001 pathfinder?
Might be a little different if it's 4x4
Is the pressure relief valve in there
No it's normally built into the oil filters
Hey bro give me the name you use for clean the part please!!
Thankyou for the helpful video 🤝
Great step by step vid!!👍🏾
thank you!
Thanks very helpful ✌
Thank you!
aye bro, can you send a link for the seal? thanks
here you go bro www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts/nissan-o-ring~21304-ja11a.html
Can water get into the oil this way?
No
Great video bro!
Was good bro I just changed mine right no and it's still leaking any advice on what it might be i bought the correct o ring mines black tho I do have a red ones also I bought at autozone
did you torque it down to spec?
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE being honest no lol u think I need to tighten it more
its possible lol i think it was only 25ft maybe you over tightened it and messed up the seal or maybe under tighten it
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE thanks for feedback I got it fix
Kenzo Vintage was it that you didn’t tighten it well or some other else?
Does this cause low oil pressure?
Thanks man. Awesome video
what should i do if i replace the o ring and the leak is still occurring? any answers are appreciated.
Make sure you torque the bolt to spec
excellent vid. thank you!!!
Thank you for watching!
You use brake cleaner ? To clean
Yes
What did u spray to clean it
I believe it was brake cleaner
Does anyone know what the name to that hose is called
I just did this but put the gasket in the wrong spot so oil exploded out the bottom 😅 just re did it putting the gasket in the right spot and all is well
This is important because the gasket can stretch a little and fit the outer ring. It needs to go in the inner ring (circle) (5:40 ish of video) and you may need to push the gasket into it slightly. I had a mechanic replace mine twice and still leaked. You guessed it wrong spot for the gasket.
😂my guy. Wouldn't be a "quick fix" without a little "oh fuck"😂😂😂 glad you got it taken care of
25 or 35 ft lbs? For the center 22mm nut/bolt
I did 25 ft lbs
Thanks for the fast reply bro 🤘
I heard 35
Just double checking because you said 35 lbs on the video. Can you please confirm?
great video the best !!
Thank you!
Great video!!!
thank you!
very good thanks
How do I change oil cooler filter
It's just an oil filter that you change when you do the oil change
Will this apply to vq35hr?
No
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE so it wont fit anychance you know witch o-ring fits the 07 g35x hr
Also man in a huge fan of yours always watch your videos .💪🏻🙏🏻
@Omy Torres I don't think HRs have this type of setup it's a different engine layout
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE correct but they do have a o-ring
Thank you very much!
Gracias bro.. 👏
Muy bueno la esplicacion gracias por sacarme de dudas 5*****
thanks
Oem is not very good if they end up leaking .
Thank youuuu!!!
Awesome
Is this a common issue?
Yes
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE I need to check mine.
You should use some additives it would take away that cold start sound
it's the clutch
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE ok never knew I’ll keep that in mind
It’s not really recommended, good oil and premium fuel should keep it running good.
Always go oem
Could this cause the g to smoke when driving? I did my valve covers but my g still smokes when I drive
No this won't cause that
if its burning out your tailpipe its from blowby through the pcv system. install an oil catch can "Air oil separator" Cheap and easy to install.
I’ve got a bunch of coolant in my oil. Wonder if it’s juts the seal or the assembly leaking
Bruh bruh
anyone else hear that knock when he cranked it?
I believe its the timing chain tensioner only does it on start up after it's been sitting for a while
Your supposed to put it on dry to create the seal. Or it will leak
If you put it dry it will crack over time
It’s black coz it burns oil
No
Its not oil cooler, oil filter :)
And u people that put oil coolers in ypur cars if you do not disconnect the coolant lines running to the factory oil warmer your defeating the whole purpose of adding a aftermarket oil.cooler cause all ypur doing is cooling the oil with cooler then sending rigjt back threw the warmer then Into the engine come on people lets think use your.brains
do yourself a favor look this part number up 21305-AM64A
I.know what it says but what it says and what it does are 2 totally different things all u got to do is get under the car and look those lines.come out.the block and go strigjt.to the cooler -warmer
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE so what ever the temp is of the Inside of ypur engine is what that is heating ypur oil up to
HELPFUL!
