Are you Serious it’s all staged and scripted to some extent. The typical nobody who goes into the pawn shop... even for a potentially smaller business transaction, will almost never see any of the stars of the show at the shop (unless show filming is being done). If someone does have a rare/historical/potentially big ticket item that would be good for the show, network/show producers arrange a meeting between the potential client and Rick or whoever from the show. The star from the show then researches the item and figures out if he will set up a meeting with an “expert” to provide more info. When the client meeting occurs, everything is hashed out (including an agreed upon outcome... whether it’s no-deal or what the price will be) off camera before show filming begins. The on camera interaction between the star from the show and the potential client... and sometimes an “expert” is mostly just an improved act for show. Everyone who appears on the show obviously has to sign a waiver. Rick has the money to pay out a mil for anything he wants. People who have all the money get to be patient enough to wait until the deal is right for them, if you get my drift (the person is desperate enough to get on their knees and basically give it away at around 25% of its actual market value) 😉
Jared Carrick I know it’s scripted lol but I’m waiting for Rick to have a script and say “get out” when a customer says a ridiculous amount of money for what they brought in

Mike Doyle If Pollock can smear paint on a canvas and have it sold for millions, I don’t see how one of the rarest video games of all time couldn’t. Not to mention it’s Mario-one of the biggest pop-culture icons of the past 40 years.
This is one of those deals that's doesn't actually close, where the seller gets to advertise his rare item and Rick gets to look like a businessman who deals in super rare and expensive things.
Everett01 It’s much more nefarious than that. The grading company and an auction house bought the game for $100k, just to create hype and a market for their “graded video games” trash. Now the “experts” that own the game are “estimating” that their own game is worth 3x what they paid for it.
It's a piece of something else than History. A piece of History is the chair Lincoln seated at Ford's Theatre, LIberty Bell, or the car Kennedy was when he was assassinated in Dallas.
ZonedOutFN they didn’t. This is all horseshit. Game never sold for 100K. These first print sticker sealed Mario Bros aren’t super rare. The 'expert' owns the company that graded the games LOL
The only item I’ve ever seen rick offer a million dollars for was George Washington’s military uniform.
He also offered good money for a "Wanted" poster of a famous killer, but that's because he wanted to buy it for himself. The poster though belonged to a museum and the guy wouldn't sell it. (He brought it in to compare go a fake poster a customer has brought in to try and sell)
VpY22 There was sunken & pirate treasure as well.....
VpY22 Can you share the link? I’d love to watch that
It sounded like it pained Rick to ask for Chum's "expertise."

Literally just went on there to show it off knowing they wouldn’t buy it for a million...
Exactly. Now after being on national TV, the serious collectors will be contacting him and offering what he wants, or close to it.
Yeah... it's definitely not the other way around where they bring in interesting items to make the show more interesting.
Yeah seems that's basically how it played out. Most one sold for was slightly over 100k and I'm thinking it's the same one.

a million dollars? four eyes is lucky he didn't get verbally threatened to leave the store either in a police car or an ambulance.
This is like literally the holy grail of video game and mario history, its basically priceless. In 5-10 years this will probably sell a million or more
You have no idea what You are talking about !
what about a hundred years? I mean, video games are the newest big art form. How much would a sealed, mint condition first theatre play, music composition, book or film go for? The more time passes, the higher this thing will go, dramatically.
What's more valuble. This unique Mario item or Bitcoins? lol
Maybe not more than a million, but close to 1M, about 750-950
