I love your videos very informative. I have to do this for a 2016 Honda CRV. Should be a similar process. The only thing I do different when pressing in new bearings is, I put them in the freezer overnight it makes them slide in so much easier. And old-timer showed me that years ago. Should I replace the front hub assembly and bearings to replace a broken off dust shield and go through taking apart the entire front end of the car like this or am I better off jumping off the golden gate bridge and calling it a day?
I subscribed to your channel cuz I know you’re good and doing it professionally. Would this be the same procedure as in 2014 crv and do I need to do wheel alignment after if I remove the knuckle from the vehicle? Thanks
I had a mechanic tell me my front wheel bearing needs to ve replaced. The showed my some play in the wheel. I've had a rear wheel bearing go on another car and could hear a distinctive scraping coming from the wheel area. I hear nothing from this car and no loose feeling steering. Could it be something else causing the play like a tie rod? Is $300 reasonable to replace the wheel bearing? Seems a bit high? it took about an hour to do on my other car and the part new is about $80. He wants to rebuild the part.
Very good video; informative, interesting, and professionally done. You always make a long video seem short. My only question is: Why did you remove the caliper and bracket separately, instead of simply taking it off as one piece?
Hi sir. Your video is amazing and helpful,I have questions if you don't mind. My accord Hub bearing is already dead and I have Abs and tiered lamp on Now, its because Hub bearing dead? And do you think it's gonna be Abs lamp off if I replaced it 🙄. Thank you for your answer. Ahmed from Iraq

I know it’s more $ but for a diy job would it make life a lot easier to rest a whole new knuckle with the new bearing and hub already pressed in? Also should I change both sides at once even if 1 side is bad? Lastly would I need an alignment after Thanks Sir!
Shouldnt need alignment. I greatly regret not just saving up for the "loaded" knuckle. The snap ring is currently kicking my ass and ive already trashed a hub marring it. And good rule of thumb to do both sides. They have equal wear so its likely also making noise or will be.
@@jesseredfield8194 Thx. Yeah I bought the loaded knuckle from ebay. TRQ brand which is 1AAuto’s brand. So far so good. I got both sides but only did 1 so far. Will do other side in the spring. $110 each. Not bad
Interested in these all in one knuckles too! I blinked and paid to have a shop press in a new Honda bearing. But if this happens again, hmmm. I think the big question is what kind of bearing is in that full knuckle. If they put in a crappy 20 dollar bearing then the rest of it is a moot point in a couple years
The last piece you put on the back of the bearing.....what is that? You're a good mechanic Jim. Very well done and very clearly explained. I enjoy your vids and learn quite a bit. Thanks.
I don't know what Honda calls it but it's loosely called the backring where I work. We machine these steering knuckles. It holds the axle boot to the knuckle.
@@jimthecarguy My local Firestone here in central NJ quoted me almost $900 to replace the knuckle, hub and bearing, saying it all comes pre assembled and they don't replace the bearings. Their price on the part was almost $600. I know I can get one for less than that if I do the entire assembly, and it seems easy enough to do myself.... But $300-400 to replace just the bearing, including parts, labor and alignment doesn't sound too bad! Not sure if the hub and knuckle really need to be replaced either (especially the knuckle)...
