Slight warning to potential customers, mid 2024 P/XC and yet to see but presumably XL models have a different frame internally. This makes using Atlas and MBX mags impossible or very difficult. Information exists but moderators took it down from FB groups. 1911 addicts has a thread about the topic. Checkmate style mags (Staccato, Nighthawk, Prodigy) work fine seemingly. Staccato is a consistent and good entry level option minus the above issue and that they intend to make changes similar to the CS and “C” to the rest of the lineup, I’d continue to recommend them as the entry level option. At 2k rounds it may still be “tight”, 5-10k it’ll have definitely opened up. Maybe not completely sloppy but definitely noticeable. Drop safety like you said is a result of the series 70 design. Some people can’t accept that and there’s plenty of other options that exist. None of the recent test bothered to repeat it with a stronger firing pin spring, so minus creating click bait they did nothing but show something known for the past multiple decades. I started with Staccato, keeping one that was some work done to it. Otherwise I’ve come to discover I like the platform, DS 1911 not specifically Staccato. Definitely not a fan of their continued push for their V3 lineup.
Oh I know. I bought three Atlas 20rd mags when I first got my staccato P earlier this year. Sadly they wouldn’t lock into the frame. Had to send em back and get Staccato mags. Not a single malfunction with the gun or the mags. About 2,000 rounds through it.
3:48 If its like that in Kentucky imagine how it is here in IL. Thankfully many sherrifs here support 2a and are knowledgeable gun owners still, but some dont clearly.
I should have rephrased the statement alittle. I was thinking to the degree of a gun guy that I am. They all love firearms, but just not to the severity that I do with the history and engineering aspect of them. They all stand for the second amendment
Good review. I have the C2 Limited and P Limited. My carry gun is the C2. I like the compensator on both these guns. Flat shooters. Staccato makes quality guns!

@@IndependentArmz brother my best advice to anyone starting out is to keep your head up and do it for fun. I was under 25K subs for 6 years. This was never a job for me and still isn’t. I do it for fun to be honest. Just have fun with it my man

@@GoldenWebb they'll both perform. I'm former LEO and still like my Glocks. Just love my Staccato P a whole lot more. Its a work of art. Tske care of any gun and it'll take care of you.
I've had a Staccato P for a few years now that i haven't cleaned for roughly 4,000 rounds and not one malfunction. It's so filthy and caked with carbon goop from a thick coat of EWG, which i believe is the only reason it still runs perfectly. EWG is amazing stuff. As filthy as it is, it's still buttery smooth and all the parts are still lubed. EWG doesn't run dry. Of course I treat my AR the same way. Greased up like crazy. Zero issues. EWG is king. Throw away all your thin oils that blast off within a few rounds and spend the extra coin for some EWG. Thank me later.
@@Treasure_care yea 99% of the people I asked about it didn’t like it either. It’s not really a carry gun. Idk why they even offer aluminum lowers at this point
Dropping it on the hammer shouldn’t cause it to fire because it can drop to 1/4 cock but dropping on the muzzle will send the firing pin to the primer.
@@bobs3597 exactly; that’s also what a lot of people have came to the conclusion with as well. As long as it’s not dropped on the barrel face you should be fine

I understand that thought, but at the same time if it’s not safe enough for police to use, then is it safe enough for anyone to use?
