    That’s a bummer. I believe in the manual Toyota recommends engaging 4WD once a month to keep things working and lubricated. I engage 4WD hi, lo, and differential lock monthly.

      thaks yeah and I do just that I put it in 4WD on the 1st week of each month to get fluids moving it states 10 miles but its not good to drive on payment in 4wd with no snow so I drive down the block maybe 3-4 miles...

    I usually activate my 4 wheel drive high and low as well as rear locker every 2 months. It likes to get stuck if you don't use it often. You can activate 4 hi on the highway up to 60 mph.

    Toyota service department can be horrible. I had a warranty issue denied and I had to fight it and have them bring a Toyota rep in and then they finally ended up covering the issue. This was on a 22 Tacoma TRD off-road. I knew the warranty issue that they were denying was bullshit as I’m in the industry, but I was told many lies by the service manager, and I had to escalate.

    The actuator is probably full of water and locked up the motor. They are crap, got rid of mine. Got a jeep gladiator and now in shop a month and they still havent even looked at my truck yet. Differential full of metal shavings in it.

    • @mblake0420
      @mblake0420 7 часов назад

      @cutlerylover i disagree, the wrangler and gladiator still have the ingredients, the rest yes. The gladiator destroys those tacomas. Drives better, better throttle response, better offroad more comfortable, more modularity. I owned a 2018 and 2020 tacoma, The Nissan and gladiator both are better drivers imo, Toyota started selling their name in 2016 with the new Tacoma when they switched from 4.0s to 3.5. It may last longer but I'm not convinced of that anymore either.

    Poor jeff
    a faulty 4WD actuator, a problem with the transfer case control module, an issue with the wiring harness connected to the actuator, attempting to engage 4WD while moving too fast, or simply not following the correct procedure for engaging the system (like not being in neutral or moving too

  • @elihernandez330

    Same thing happened to my Chevy truck didn't use the 4wd system in like 3 years try to use it it freaked out but it wasn't that bad. They cleared everything reset it they then manually actuated it on the lift and it worked fine after. They told me to engage it at least once every 2 months preferably every month.
