- In this video, you will see the pedestrian warning on the new BMW 1 series in action. This time in even more difficult scenarios. In theory the system works up to 60 kph, but for safety reasons, we kept it at 40 kph max. Have fun watching. We test this safely here, so you do not have to! Do not try this yourself.
Part 1:
• BMW Pedestrian Warning...
Chapters:
0:00 Walking Pedestrian
0:47 Crossing Pedestrian
1:20 Some weird moving Pedestrian
1:32 Running Pedestrian
2:01 Crossing Pedestrian while accelerating
2:15 Intersection Scenarios
!This test was not performed by BMW or any other reliable or scientific organisation. System capabilities may vary, for example depending on weather conditions.! Авто/Мото
wow that is so brave for the person which is walking.... thank you for the testing, so many good scenerio to see how the system works.
That was the college intern from the engineering team. 🤣
Oh! this is a very extreme test, thanks for the demo.
Thanks :)
Great video
the person felt so scared and than he felt comtable later lol
Finally we waited!!! )
Tomorrow ;)
You have a titanium’s balls ))) like as always
Thank youuuu
Interessantes Video. 👍Würde mich freuen wenn bald wieder ein neues Video über den Notbremsassistent mit einem anderen Auto kommt
Bald ;)
I was thinking I opened a "That Chapter" Video because of the music xD
I have the standard Driving Assistant and the camera only system never recognizes pedestrians or cyclists what could be the issue? Is the approaching speed differential not high enough? By the time I’m close to the pedestrian or cyclist I already had slowed down so the speed differential is less than 5-10 mph. The camera system works fine for car and brakes a few times
Hi , do you know if the rear traffic alert will automatically apply the brake when backing out and about to hit the car passing by ?
Well yes. It does react to cyclists and cars. It only applies the brakes on Higher Models Like 3 series and abobe though.
Is this Standard in every F40 and When yes does it Brake automaticly?
Bro how to off (AEB) this option in BMW X7
0:40 car would probably stop last second cause the person was far right. It's impressive what these can do also they never brake too soon when not needed but are always there when needed. Same with turn braking it would brake last second probably even with higher speed.
Hey. Yeah, you're right. It's absolutely impressive. Unfortunately my friend wouldn't let me run him over so, if it got too close, i had to take action :)..
Oh and concerning the intersection scenario (braking while turning): The 1 series is not advertised to handle intersections.
You need a 3 series or above with "driving assistant professional" for actual warnings at intersections, when turning or with cross traffic :)
@@robertmuller-uri7370 Can you get pro version on 1 series.
No:
X1, X2: old driving assistant (is pretty bad at braking but good at warning at least)
1 series, 2 series: new driving assistant
X3-X7 and 3-8 series: new driving assistant or driving assistant professional :)
@@robertmuller-uri7370 well they are pretty good overall they react every time. Of course every new system improves with each model of the new system or update and becomes better and better.
@@dkdanis1340 yes, exactly
Who drew the short straw for being the test dummy 🤣 But cool video nonetheless!
Does your 1 series come with ACC with Stop&Go function? Is it camera or radar-based? Thanks a lot!
The Car is equipped with both driving assistant and ACC with Stop & Go function.
Both are optional Extras.
Driving assistant is camera based.
ACC is Radar based.
Sure!
@@robertmuller-uri7370 thanks a lot! Do you know whether the collision warning with braking function works up to 85kph and 250kph? Does it make any difference with the ACC with Stop&Go function added? I am a bit confused with BMW's options...
@@wongjustin144 For both camera-only and camera+radar based systems, the warning is available from 5 km/h to 250 km/h.
For camera-only, the braking function is available from 5 km/h to 85 km/h and the maximum speed reduction is approx. 50 km/h.
For camera+radar, the braking function is available from 5 km/h to 250 km/h and the maximum speed reduction is approx. 60 km/h.
@@cesaretiv87 thanks a lot!!!
Heyy great video what do you think about mercede A series in comparision with 1 series
You think when 1 series fails to detect A series can detect
Thank you
The a-class has more system, but they do not work as reliable as the BMWs. I have not had a single false warning on my 1series in the past year but 2 false warnings when I had an a class for just one afternoon.
Mercedes also has good systems, no doubt, but the are more annoying I believe.
I wonder where the threshold for triggering the system when the car is turning (intersection scenarios)? It would be interesting to understand. And here 2:20 it's too much on the turn, and here it's too much after the turn 2:35
Yes, that would be interesting indeeed
@@robertmuller-uri7370 we will waiting. The new video )))
@@user-hjy7jilftnh yeah, I'll figure something funny out
Why not uploading
0:32. An seiner Stelle wäre mir schon ein bisschen mulmig. Der Junge ist schon ganz schön mutig ! 😉
I don't think there will be much difference between Driver assistance package and Driver assistance professional package. I had a 2020 330i equipped with Driver assistance professional package and when I was driving down an intersection at around 40 mph and suddenly out of nowhere comes a pickup truck and the car and I both couldn't stop in time. Happened in March 2021 and the car was declared a total loss few days later. 😢
I think that you are right, but only partly. With the front collision warning and the pedestrian warning there will probably not be a huge difference. The driving assistant professional package however offers a lot more capabilities to at least reacts at all all in more difficult areas for example at intersections. The normal driving assistant will not react at all at intersections for example for crossing traffic.
40mph is way too fast i think.... for the system to totally avoid a crash.....
WOW .. GOOD I BUY BMW ....BMW BEST ADAS .. AUTONOMOUS DRIVE SYSTEM
Gonna tell my kids if they don't study they will end up getting hit by car's AI systems like that dude
😂😂🤝
Interesting, is Driving Assistant Professional has a better results? There’s 3 cameras in it
Yes. The driving assistant professional performs better in many scenario's. If I can, I will test that as well.
@@robertmuller-uri7370 oooo it would be very interesting in comparison
I think it just adds more features to the existing ones. Not improve upon the existing ones. My driver assistance professional equipped 2020 330i couldn't apply the brakes on time. Also the speed was around 40mph. So, I wouldn't blame the system. There might have not been enough distance even if the brakes were applied hard enough.
@@anuragreddykanuganti3187 the driving assistant professional does improve over the normal one. It has two more cameras and 3 more radar sensors. And there are many factors that play into why the car didn't brake. Weather, how dirty your windscreen/radar sensors are, how your settings are etc.
@@robertmuller-uri7370 I guess the additional sensors and cameras could detect things better than the regular system could. But in my case, it was during night time and all of my car's sensors were nice and clean that day. But like I said, maybe the distance was a little too small for any reactions from my side or the car's side. But the most important part is, nothing happened to me.
I have the bmw X5 G05, the car sometimes detect the perdesstrain , but does initiate the brake!! I have the driving assistant prefessional. Even while driving on the high way the emergency brake doesn't work I get one a visual warning the red car logo.. what could be the problem??
You literally you contradict yourself like 5 times in that sentence. Maybe try again a little more calm
@@robertmuller-uri7370 hi Robert,
What I mean the car emergency braking doesn't work kn my car, only visual effect by the way the car had an accident and the front bumper was replaced but the long range radar was not replaced .. it was re installed . After searching online some users reported that the KAFAS camera had a software glitche .
@@huthaifamahmoud7773 If you car has damage to it's front you should probably repair that first
@@huthaifamahmoud7773 I have a similar problem. I have an X3 2020 with Driving Assistant Professional and I believe my system doesn’t work. I have never seen any warning “red car” appearing on the dashboard despite being in several scenarios where it should have had. I have taken it to a BMW dealer a couple of times but they keep saying that everything is fine. Did you manage to find what is wrong with your car?
Are you sure, the settings are all correct?
1:17 Bremst der Wagen hier automatisch von allein oder muss man schon die Bremse treten ?
Grün: Auto bremst
Rot und grün: Auto beginnt zu bremsen, ich muss aber helfen
Rot: ich muss bremsen
Is this the same driving assistant of 220 gran coupè?
Yes it is.
@@robertmuller-uri7370 Many Thanks :)
Thank you !
So, as we can see, the system is NOT reliable ... almost at all
Well it is perfectly reliable. It helps to avoid a collision in almost every situation and bmw explicitly advertises that it does not work in intersections.
So it does exactly what bmw advertises and does that very well...
The latest systems from bmw perform even better (new X1 and 2 series active tourer).
@@robertmuller-uri7370 Well, that's is far from enough...
@@ted1558 but much better than no aeb system
@@robertmuller-uri7370 Yeah... but is questionable...
