    Always like your videos. I wish my local genius was as knowledgeable as you.
    Quick question if I may.
    When driving my 2024 X5 in highway assist plus, what does it mean when the thick green stripe down the middle kind of overlays with a thick white line? Seems like it might be when I move the wheel a little but not sure.
    Also, what’s the difference between the big thick line being green vs white and the two thin lane divider linesturning green vs white? The drivers manual app doesn’t really go into detail and the genius hotline didn’t have a clue.
    Thanks. Absoluto love this amazing car.

    • @BMWofFW
      @BMWofFW  11 месяцев назад +1

      the thick lane filling middle green line is your distance control (letting you know it's active, either with a car detected with a box around it or no car detected). if you're talking about the white line that lies across perpendicularly across that area, that's your general follow distance marker. it reflects in AR your current set follow distance and will move further away or closer depending on speed.
      the lane divider/definer lines just show weather active lane keeping is active. White means it's not active, either from a manual lane change selected, or the lines became undefined for the system for a moment, Green means lines are defined and lane keep assist is active.

  • @awmustang
    @awmustang 10 месяцев назад +1

    In my current car I am often changing the follow distance. I would hate for that to be buried in the touch screen instead of right on the steering wheel. Hope they bring that back really soon.

    AR is so cool it’s a shame the i4m50 was passed over for this feature. My m50 is currently crossing the Atlantic and should arrive at BALPOA on Friday. I’m beyond excited as I’m closing in on my one year anniversary of ordering it next month.

    • @BMWofFW
      @BMWofFW  Год назад +2

      YAAAAAAASSSSSS, but yeah unfortunately because it shares it's base wiring harness with the standard 4 series that means it gets Service Pack 18 so it won't get that feature. It needs the 4K front camera to do so.

      @@BMWofFW Thank you so much for explaining why. I'm kind of bummed that my i4 M50 arriving in April will not have this, and I briefly considered getting an iX instead, but I decided I'll stick with the i4. Have you noticed any differences in the way DAP works in the i4 vs. the iX/i7? From all the videos I've seen, the only differences I've noticed are: 1) The iX/i7 can handle sharper curves (maybe?), 2) The iX/i7 can park in a parking spot surrounded by empty spots, whereas the i4 needs a car on at least one side to align to (it lines up with the car, not the actual parking line), and 3) The i7 (and maybe the iX) allow Traffic Jam Assist hands free at a much higher speed (i4 maxes out at 40mph, whereas the i7 can do hands free up to 85mph). Thanks in advance for all the useful information you provide!

      it depends on the road/highway. similar to supercruise it is only on certain closed highways that are available in the HERE HD Map database, otherwise it's very similar to the previous version with some visual/performance upgrades.
