      There’s no way around that unless you go for a business laptop with no real hardware. You can’t want a laptop to be packing power in a thin chassis and expect it to remain cool and silent its just not realistic.
      If you don’t game then I’ve always been satisfied with my dell xps laptops theyve always been silent and no heat issues either

    • @toto3777
      @toto3777 5 месяцев назад +11

      @@peterc6559 Balance is key. Laptops can offer similar specs but dissipate heat in more optimal ways (heat away from keyboard, away from screen, etc.). That is a determining value for me in knowing which ones do that.

      @@toto3777 All laptops are good, inorder to stand out more almost all lptop manufacturer push the CPU clocks to maximum , especially the one comes under the tag GAMINGLAPTOP.
      A 5% low clock and undervolt can make laptop much better.
      I also overclock my laptop GPU when ever needed, when I need sudden push in GPU clocks, my CPU clocks cant up over clocked ,but can downclock.

      @@peterc6559This just isn't true. Lots of laptops are able to dump the heat out of the vents quite effectively. Very task dependent obviously but I've owned many like my g14 with 1650 or MacBook pro

      I got the 2024 4060 version from Best buy for $1350 and id say the only place that feels too warm is the space between the keyboard and the screen. That spot is BLAZING hot. But the keyboard itself doesn't feel overly warm and the three fans on the bottom pulling air up through the giant grate keeps the bottom pretty cool. Just my 2 cents 🙂

  • @KuroHebi
    @KuroHebi 2 месяца назад +15

    The 90 watt limit can be bypassed by flashing a vBIOS, or you can also increase performance by undervolting the laptop. Two solutions I might implement when I'll finally have the G14 in my possession if I'm not satisfied with the performance (though I most probably will be).

    • @joshuagarcia2868
      @joshuagarcia2868 Месяц назад

      I was about to say this. Thankfully last year's g14 4070 goes up to 125 watts if I remember correctly. This laptop still stays under 80 degrees so it can definitely handle a bit more power with unfortunately the keyboard getting hotter but personally I'm cool with it.

      Magnesium alloy feels very plastic, and if there's any stains on it and you wanna get rid of it with say alcohol or something, it rubs the coats off the metal and so it looks and feels very plastic. 2024 has CNC aluminium which mean the coating shouldn't be rub off but that's only a guess from mine.

That's what apple users will never get, they think they are so smart in their own little ponds when they have no clue what they are talking about. That battery life is only effective because the damn OS is Arm base architecture rather than x86 architecture. Your shitty architecture will not support any outdated software that is more than 10 years old. And no Civil Engineer buy a macbook because their software isn't available in a fucking macbook!!!!
