Nice video comparison! However when it comes to price there's no comparison: Not sure in Europe, but in Canada, Asus hands down is cheaper by quite a margin, with same spec (4070 with 32GB Ram), G14 is CAD$2,999 while Blade 14 is whopping CAD$3,799....
@@NotebookcheckReviews As far as I know, you should wait for the HP software update, because the 16" was not able to sufficiently reveal its full potential
The razer weight is the same as the G16 not the g14 if you are willing to carry that you might as well go to the g16 and get a bigger screen and more TDP on the GPU which would probably erase the performance difference. Also for what the razer is charging You could actually buy the 4080 version of the g16. so this comparison is interesting but in terms of price and weight doesn't hold up. Portability for me is about the weight not the size. All these laptops can fit in a backpack . It is just a matter of how heavy that bag will be.
Of course, there are a lot of things to base a comparison of off. But most people will primarily decide between these because of the overall size I would assume!

No. Save your money and get a 4070 Super. That will give you way more performance and be cheaper. Buy a non gaming laptop for your on the go needs. Or get a SteamDeck OLED if you wanna do portable gaming.
yeah, I say this since I'm a college student and although I know my pc is there for me, It has 8gb of ram and 256 gb of storage. I mean.. considering the new G14 is almost a full pound lighter and more compact overall than the Razer, it still nearly keeps up overall in graphics for what it is.. it's a trade off for sure but i'd go for the G14 for max portability. Plus the G14 has OLED and longer battery life.. I ordered the G14.

Excellent video as always! 🎉 I finally decided on the Razer 14 despite i like the screen, battery and portability more on the g14. I did so because of i know the build quality on the Razer is very sturdy when carrying the laptop around every day in all harsh conditions for a couple of years. Asus just feels more flimsy and to be frank untested in the long run. I dont think i really could go wrong i neither case, but your thoughts?
I agree. The Asus also feels excellent, but the Razer just takes it to another level. As I said in the video, it feels more like a work machine than a lifestyle accessory, and if that is what you are looking for, then you will not be disappointed with the Razer!
I feel like next year is when the G14 will truly shine. With Zen 5 and RTX 5060, I can already sense a huge performance jump in 2025. It will finally be time to upgrade.
I don't understand why they don't just drop a full 100whr battery into these machines. They have the room and they really don't need to be thinner at this point.
I'd take the G14 due to its price-to-performance ratio and the fact that you can turn off the dgpu unlike with the Blades. But I'll be waiting for this year's Legion 5 14 and see how it holds up against the G14 seeing as it was close to perfect last year already.
I’d lean towards the G14 as usual. The whole point of a 14” laptop is portability for me. Having a smaller form factor, lighter weight, and crazy battery life are super important for bringing this to the office without needing to charge for the day. For those needing more power, just go for last years G14. Comes with 4080/4090 and a slot of ram while still being roughly the same size as the Blade 14 but better performer and lighter weight and better battery
Thank you for this review, Alex. It's the G14 for me due to value, but I have to say, the Razer's vapor-chamber cooling is one of the best coolers I've encountered in a laptop. Keeps the laptop really chill during gaming.
Factor in price and the G14 is the winner. The extra power the Blade gives the 4070 doesn't mean very much as performance usually maxes about at 100W. I would rather take the oled and 120hz. Neither laptop really strikes me as a 240hz machine.
That's a sound argument, but as you can see from our testing, the Blade is A LOT faster. For some reason, it can properly take advantage of its higher wattage 4070!
I own the blade 14 2023 with 4070 and love it, but I really like the G14 OLED screen, and speakers seem good, I dont like the loud fans though on the G14 and soldered RAM, so Im not sure, I might go for the OLED lenovo with a 4060 if I had the choice or the Blade 16 with OLED for the 4080
Zephyrus longer battery life and oled ....no need to think too much...just take the 32gb 4050 ryzen r9 white and you have a laptop for all rounder at 2k price...i rather take the 4050 and 32gb as it is also at 90w and it does the job for gaming and your work wont be compromise ...best all rounder indeed
I just got a 2023 Razer Blade 16, I like the G16 but I needed more GPU power for video editing. So I'd say the same for this, you want portability, get the ROG, you need more compute power for editing/game development...get the Razer.
@@fidelisitor8953 nah I wanted 4K for video editing/game development. The oled is purely for gaming or media consumption. And I got a good price on it.
@@fidelisitor8953 not sure if my comment went thru or not but no I needed the 4K resolution. It would’ve been cool if the OLED had a 4K option. You still get g-sync with the mini led display.

Do not count on it anytime soon. According to our information from different manufacturers, 240W via USB-C needs too much voltage right now, making it very inefficient, resulting in too much heat at the connector. That is why you do not see anyone using it!
The true battle is the price, $2000 vs $2700, The G14 is clearly the winner. Is the Razer really worth 700 dollars more? I don't think so and I had them both.
Also, the oled Blade 16 with 4090, 2TB SSD, 32GB Ram and 14th gen i9 is $1000 more that the equally spec'd Asus G16. Asus really accomplished what the MSI Stealth serries couldn't do vs Razer.
Asus really screwed up this time. They had incredible advantage against the Blade 14 in every aspect and they just threw it all away. Terrible decisions all around.
I had a Razer and was pleased with it for all of 2 years at which point the motherboard died, seems like a common problem, 2 years lifetime is crazy for such pricey products…Razer customer service is awful. Now I’ve gone for the G14 and hoping for a better experience, so far so good
F*ck soldered ram, I have the money but I hate my option being closed and being told what's good for me by some random company. Using Zephyrus g16 2023 rn, but I'll probably move away from asus next year.
That 140w TGP for the RTX 4070 in the Razer means nothing. Channels like Jarrod's Tech has shown that pumping more wattage into the RTX 4050, 4060, and 4070 laptop cards don't offer any performance advantage. Razer is just promoting that as a marketing tool. That's how they get customers...through marketing and aesthetics. I have never trusted the brand as they have horrible quality control issues. Sure the laptop might look good from the outside, but they always have problems with things like battery bloat, keys sticking, cooling issues, display issues, etc. I had one of their mice back in 2014 develop a double click issue 3 months after purchase. Replaced it under warranty and the new one did the same one month after purchase. Switched to Logitech and never looked back and that mouse is still working perfectly today. Avoid Razer products people

@@mikerahl123why do you need both a 14 and 16?
How can the G14 have a slidely better edge over the blade 14 in terms of connectivity, when the the razer blades have a wifi 7 module while the rog g models run the old wifi 6e ones. Would be nice if you could explain.
Antenna placement in a laptop apparently plays a huge role in connectivity performance. The 2024 Zephyrus G14 apparently found the sweet spot.
Thanks for the awesome review. Does any of the two USB 4 ports on 2024 Blade 14 support display port through the dGPU? Razer website make it sound that both are connected to iGPU! Does Optimus make a difference in this case? I need to be able to connect a device theough USB-C to the dGPU for work. This might be deal breaker for me.
90w vs 140w
@@yilun354 I understand, me personally I don't really need that extra frame rates, 8fps in game doesn't justify the $800 difference for me

Blade 14 would perform the same/similar to g16 due to tgp

@@NotebookcheckReviews As far as I know, you should wait for the HP software update, because the 16" was not able to sufficiently reveal its full potential
Great comparison, thank you
Sure thing! :)
@@NotebookcheckReviewsI agree. I didn't really worry about price when I got my Blade 16. I wanted the best available so I could go a long time before upgrading again. When defending Asus, people most often point to it being cheaper than 'XYZ,' often ignoring that not everyone is looking for budget laptops.

Please make a comparison of the Razer Blade 16 Oled vs Asus Zephyrus G16 (2024). Thanks!
Would this laptop be a good replacement for 3060ti pc? Also would it be able to stream and game capture?
If you are happy with the same power level and need the benefits of DLSS then it is the way to go
I'll always need a laptop, so I'm weighing the cost of benefits of having a jack of all trades gaming laptop over the PC steam deck combo, which I'm sure would be better otherwise.
I mean.. considering the new G14 is almost a full pound lighter and more compact overall than the Razer, it still nearly keeps up overall in graphics for what it is.. it's a trade off for sure but i'd go for the G14 for max portability. Plus the G14 has OLED and longer battery life.. I ordered the G14.

Excellent video as always! 🎉
I finally decided on the Razer 14 despite i like the screen, battery and portability more on the g14.
When will you review the new legion pro 5 (14900hx)?
Thanks for covering the PWM status💫
Sure thing!

Great channel , Great content
Thank you
Glad you enjoy it!
I'd take the G14 due to its price-to-performance ratio and the fact that you can turn off the dgpu unlike with the Blades. But I'll be waiting for this year's Legion 5 14 and see how it holds up against the G14 seeing as it was close to perfect last year already.
I am waiting for the RazerBlade 18 4090 match against the MSI Titan 18
Might be a while. The Blade 18 is not yet available.
Scar 18 vs. Titan coming next week tho!
Just ordered the g14 from Best buy. Hopefully it goes well. The oled screen is what sold me on the g14
Congrats to your new machine!
I own the blade 14 2023 with 4070 and love it, but I really like the G14 OLED screen, and speakers seem good, I dont like the loud fans though on the G14 and soldered RAM, so Im not sure, I might go for the OLED lenovo with a 4060 if I had the choice or the Blade 16 with OLED for the 4080
If you get into the nitty gritty details between the two, it is really hard to decide, isnt it?
do you want to go with a company known for poor reliability or a company known for shtty warranty support
which company you are talking about
@@grlgaming1913 are you saying Asus has improved their warranty support?

Hopefully we'll see some USB-C 240W devices soon. No need for some extra connector s**t anymore.
Do not count on it anytime soon. According to our information from different manufacturers, 240W via USB-C needs too much voltage right now, making it very inefficient, resulting in too much heat at the connector.
That is why you do not see anyone using it!
@@NotebookcheckReviewsAh that's a shame, thanks for the update though!

The true battle is the price, $2000 vs $2700, The G14 is clearly the winner. Is the Razer really worth 700 dollars more? I don't think so and I had them both.
Is it really that much in the US? The G14 is really "just" 2k in this config?
@NotebookcheckReviews Yes Sir, I have the bestbuy version.
Also, the oled Blade 16 with 4090, 2TB SSD, 32GB Ram and 14th gen i9 is $1000 more that the equally spec'd Asus G16. Asus really accomplished what the MSI Stealth serries couldn't do vs Razer.
The soldered ram is a a DEALBRRAKER 90% of laptops not booting up are caused by faulty RAM modules
Asus really screwed up this time. They had incredible advantage against the Blade 14 in every aspect and they just threw it all away. Terrible decisions all around.
G14 for the portability and affordibility. 9% of the edge for the Razer is not worth it.
I had a Razer and was pleased with it for all of 2 years at which point the motherboard died, seems like a common problem, 2 years lifetime is crazy for such pricey products…Razer customer service is awful. Now I’ve gone for the G14 and hoping for a better experience, so far so good

Razr makes the best laptops period.
Avoid Razer products people
razer has synapse so that is a FAIL. worst software made by man lol. ASUS has poor reliability according to the laptop repair shops that have channels on youtube. And ASUS has horrible customer service. To say ASUS does not care about their customers is to imply they even notice you.
