I love the story about the barren teacher having to face her hypocrisy when asked that question about an infertile couple having their marriage blessed by the church. WARMED MY HEART!
Yeah I don't even get why she would hate on a kid like that for asking a logical question the teacher should not have made that personal she must have lots of bottled up hate and anger lol
It's clearly a sore spot, everyone has them and everyone hates it when they're poked. Am I justifying her actions afterwards? No. But I understand where her anger comes from.
@@erikmckoul2478 That's just it, the kid didn't even question the legitimacy of her marriage. What made her so mad was that someone pointed out that *she* did when *she* said there was no point to a marriage without procreation. The kid asked a question that forced her to inwardly reflect on what her own beliefs say about her and her marriage, and causing someone to confront their cognitive dissonance is a big bad to fanatics, that's how they stay fanatics. Got to love when religious zealots get mad that their own beliefs backfire when they apply them to themselves. (also, you're 100% spot on about that bottled up hate and anger. As someone who has known since childhood that I can't reproduce, my religious family has made sure to make sure I know that "No good Christian man would ever marry a woman that couldn't fulfill his God-given duty to be fruitful and multiply!" Luckily for them, I'm pansexual and am not limited to male Christians when/if choosing a life partner but I know all the talking points. She's probably spent her whole life having her inability to have children called a divine punishment, being told it makes her an unworthy wife, being told her god would have 'blessed her with children' if she prayed harder, ect. Having some little kid basically confirm that her beliefs logically validate the words of those who told her that was the icing on the discontentment cake.)
That was awesome and it's a good question she walk right into that one with her bias views do to barrens women can't have children and the same for same sex couples unless they can find someone to carry thier offspring for them then that would make that statement false or they have the 2 guys donate sperm to used on same female then it's random but the child would get the same amount of love no matter if they have same sex parents or even if they adopt there was nothing stopping that teacher from adopting only her bias views and jealousy of others is what I think it shows on her reaction to the question
I admit I stop going to church when I was 9 only went back do to death in the family I might think like a teen but have no interest what so ever in children or relationships am happy being single gives me more time on video games and my hobbies in creating art
At my Christian school I asked a similar question "If Adam and Eve had cain and able then where did everyone else come from?" Surprisingly the answer I got from the pastor was that the bible leaves out a lot of information and even if Adam and Eve were the first people it didnt rule out that God could have made more people before exiling them from the garden. Yet he also answered the question with "Aliens" since he was a jokester who loved Ancient Aliens on the history channel.
I'm surprised this was considered a difficult question to them. One of God's first commands to Adam and Eve was to "Be fruitful and multiply" Aka, make lots and lots of babies. So their kids would have married. With them being the first humans, defects from inbreeding would not be anywhere near as much of an issue as it is now, since there would be very little degradation of the DNA for several generations.
@@thomasshaw3878 well it is theorized that imbreeding could have been possible. Although if that is the case no priest would even suggest that possibly. Imbreeding is a very disgusting practice, so can we really blame the church for refusing to entertain that possibility?
@@RingoSalver I guess that's fair if they are thinking about it from the perspective we have of it today. It's considered a disgusting practice today because there is such a high chance of problems with a child of inbreeding these days. In ancient times there wouldn't have been that negative connotation.
I hear ya I did the same thing In a science class, and the teacher wasn’t exactly in the believing in God stuff. So I just simply asked if God doesn’t exist and how come every scientist you keep referencing to all believe in God and the only reason why they started studying what they study is because they wanted to know more about God by studying this world. You could hear a pin drop.
@@charizardsniper5064 You got a point there - it's like how science could be considered the study of magic. Not trying to be rude, just very interesting
@@charizardsniper5064 That's not a clever question or a gotcha. For example, Newton believed in alchemy. A scientist being smart in one area doesn't lend validity to all of their opinions on everything and a scientist's personal reasons for becoming a scientist aren't relevant to their discoveries as long as they aren't using them to bias their findings. What you did is actually a fallacy called appeal to authority. You should defer to authorities in their fields but ONLY about the things they're authorities in, not their personal opinions and views which only carry the same weight as anyone else's. Like, would you ask a religious person who studies biology why they're quoting Darwin who wasn't? I doubt it, the premise is just extremely silly either way. My guess is your teacher was struggling to find a nice way to explain this to you without sounding like he was attacking your beliefs, something he could get in shit for. Silence is also a response to incredibly stupid questions.
I’m about to enter my last year of going to a Catholic secondary school- the RE classes can be annoying. Luckily, the teachers at our school are more laid back and don’t really “force” the ideas into us, but more tell us them because we have to know them for exams- even if we disagree with them. They also let the class debate with them (as long as it’s kept civil). I wish more schools were like this. Maybe it would leave less people feeling bitter about high school.
You’d be surprised by the large amount of parents that A) use their child’s birthday as a punishment (basically they aren’t invited to their own party and their friends get their presents back) or just straight up ignore them
@@TommyHuffstedtler i feel like if there were exams to determine if someone is suited to be a parent, they'd have to be very slick to catch the bullshit of the pupils in case they're potential abusers
If you cannot explain your religion, then you are a blind follower. The best pastors are the ones that have eight different translations of the bible on top of the original Hebrew and Greek text, and understand enough of the historical context to decisively say which translation, if any, is correct. The most unfortunate part of religion are the questions that we dont know the answer to, but those questions need to be answered with "we dont know, but this is the reasoning why we chose this side"
It's because if they didn't react so defensively when kids pointed out the flaws in their beliefs, then they wouldn't have those beliefs very long. They act so fragile because most of their beliefs are fragile, taking only a bit of logic and critical thinking to disprove. This is why so many religious groups demonise and punish questioning, especially good questioning. It's a method of protecting faulty beliefs.
Well according to what we been told adam and Eve are the first humans and was told to fill the world with humans so does that mean thier children and grandchildren sin with incest and are a single family unit that spread out all over the world and were before the caveman era and we are all distantly related through them if what according to the bible is true that link can explain it more then me I always had question that caused if incest is a taboo and a sin then we as the human race wouldn't exist? that's seems to be a taboo subject that everyone overlooks or just denies en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_and_Eve#:~:text=Adam%20and%20Eve%2C%20according%20to,single%20pair%20of%20original%20ancestors.
"who did Cain marry when he got exiled?" ... that's actually a really good question... i figured since every single person in the bible lives for more than 100 years, or at least the prominent characters, he probably got together with one of his nieces. and the only reason i say that, is because according to the bible, Cain got married, but there were no other humans in the world at that point, hence...
The current hypothesis is that Adam and Eve’s direct descendants were protected against genetic disorders caused by inbreeding because the two of them were “created in God’s likeness” aka perfection before the downfall of sin. That implies that the two very first humans created initially had no harmful genetic mutations, and their perfect genome them passes on to their children in a mildly mutated fashion. In the real world, inbreeding takes several generations for it to combine and manifest as terrible disorders, so if we assume that the first ever genome had no errors, it may take a couple thousand years for offspring to develop enough errors to manifest as destructive. Today, we know that the human genome is littered with variation, and familial errors are covered up by outbreeding, or manifested by inbreeding. That’s why we have developed such an aversion to incest. Today, incest debilitated and kills. But back at the start of everything, man was completely without error, so inbreeding wasn’t dangerous. Did Cain marry his sister? Yes. Was it bad for his offspring? No. Again, I’m not stating this as fact, but as the current hypothesis that biblical scholars view as most likely.
@@xhisteriah This just makes me ask, if God created them genetically perfectly then why didn't he take out the 'sin' DNA. Also, this insinuates that God also coded for the perfect skin colour, hair type, facial features, ect, making all the other genes non-perfect mutations and inferior in the eyes of God and omg do those sort of beliefs escalate to eugenics and genocide quickly.
@@TheAwesomes2104 The question of why he didnt take out bad mutations is the same answer as to why he didnt get rid of sin or anything bad at all. The answer is unfortunate. We don't know. We assume that God has the ability to do so, but doesn't, and we cannot understand why he doesn't. The only explanation we can think of... is unsatisfactory: God is too complex for humans to understand. We like to pride ourselves in our ability to understand crazy concepts, so that answer really seems like bullshit if you haven't considered real limits of the human brain. Can you imagine what living in a 4D would would look like? We can visualize 4D in our 3D world, but our 3D brains can't "upgrade" the 3D perspective. How about imagining a brand new color? If we could see infrared, what would it look like? We can use our existing color spectrum to simulate a detection, but it's not truly seeing a new color. It's a shite answer that nobody wants to hear, and sounds like a copout answer, but if Christians are to believe in a higher being, they need to occasionally accept the idea that humans dont have the capacity to understand everything.
Adam and Eve has a LOT more children than just Cail and Abel. I think there's an accounting somewhere of all of them, but I dont have a specific book or chapter.
We had health class that wasn't optional and they went over everything good. But i also think that maybe the parents should tell kids stuff too like mine did.
See I think y’all got lucky because my high school it was literally like “let me see your jacket, this is what an uncircumcised penis looks like” and then they gave us deodorant and three pads that was it; no one paid attention in that class at all. The people that wanted to learn the teacher didn’t pay attention to them she paid attention to everybody else that wasn’t doing what they needed to do so I really felt like no one learned anything.
I love the little piece of rSlash Lore we get everyone now and then. Especially the ones with you and your wife. I always tell them to my Fiancé, though she doesn't watch you, and it's always a nice little moment "oh that was us when..." Especially that one about the tea drink.
About the Adam, Eve and Cain question: I asked my dad (he's religious to a certain extent) and he said 'God made more humans' and I asked 'but why??? Adam and Eve broke his rules, why would he make more of humanity just to let them be tortured for something they didn't do???' and he just... Shut down It was hilarious
Religious people don't ever try to consider what they preach and how it comes off to someone who hasn't been indoctrinated. If they did, they'd quickly answer with something reasonable like "There are some texts missing from the teachings" or something like that. Instead they just expect you to accept it without question and wonder why so many people turn away from religion when the reasoning behind it falls flat. Hilarious!
What's worse, is that I was raised Christian and this question was answered by "well, Adam and Eve could've had lots of children before they sinned and so there would've been more people in the world" basically saying that incest was the answer. BUT it was ok back then, because there were.... *shuffles notes* more genes and less defects I'm no longer a Christian

I love kids questioning the world, especially religion. It shows that we've grown past the "just accept the thing I tell you even when I don't know" mentality.
yea I did that for a while before I became an atheist. I'm just disillusioned with God and Christianity and most religious people I know, especially my family. But my dad just tried to tell me that "God is real" "don't be an atheist" "The Bible is a holy blessing" even though I'm 19 and in his own words the day before, said "She's grown. I can have an opinion but I can't force anything"
Exactly. One thing I love about the new generation is that now instead of just blindly believing what we're told, we question it to see if it has any truth to it before we decide if whether or not we believe it
This is the problem with alot of mind sets in the world. You question it? YOU ARE EVIL AND WRONG! Aka... "I don't have a right answer and you might have gotten me somewhere I am wrong." It's an annoying mindset flooding across the world. The worst part is.. if you do admit possible fault or wrong... it will be used so heavily against you. This is the true social construct that is currently destroying us and causing depression and anxiety. "No questions, all is perfect, admitting mistakes is weakness, you will be perscued until you admit fault and if you don't you are at fault." ...No wonder we have so much goddamn Karens in the world.
Yes, im also an atheist, but i still like to figure stuff out - and the bible states that adam and eve were the first 2 created by god not the only. Beside if you deny evolution it would kind of explain our decendants from the apes lol....

When I was in school in Poland, religion classes were "opt out after the teacher had a serious conversation with parents". Since the grade wasn't counted into the average, not many people bothered to opt out since there was not much to do and most of your friends were in the class with you anyway. We loved torturing our teacher with questions, after all she was the same type as in the story - woman is supposed to listen to husband in everything, do her "duty" in bed, give birth to bunch of children and all that. There's no such thing as detention in Poland and there's no way anyone would get suspended for anything that is not criminal. She would go mad angry and often walk out. They had to swap the teacher every year...
But for a healthy person, "it would be impossible to overdose on bananas," says Collins. "You would probably need around 400 bananas a day to build up the kind of potassium levels that would cause your heart to stop beating... Bananas are not dangerous - and in fact they are, and always have been, very good for you."
I remember going to church with my grandma at aged 5 years and listening to the Reverend talk about how the earth and Adam and Eve came about, sitting there all I could think about was how my mum had recently taught me about the big bang and how the earth revolved around the sun. I knew better than to question or debate things my grandma told/showed me, both my parents had been raised very religious and because of this were no longer religious so much so that the only thing my dad had ever said about plans for his funeral was 'NO religion'. My parents discussed religion and active encouraged us to explore all aspects of religion and atheism ect, so they always allowed my grandma to takes us to church till we were old enough and there was vaild reasons(sports ect) to say we didn't want to go, it really wasn't worth the fight with my grandma she could be relentless and extremely vandictive when she wanted to be, she was a lovely charitable women but had a mean streak. So when I came home age 5 years and explained to my mum why I didn't think the reverend was right we had a deep chat about it and she told me it is always important to consider all side of an issue but to follow your gut if something doesn't add up ask question, do research and never let anyone tell you that your thoughts and opinion aren't vaild, but when you go to church again with your grandma just listen quietly and agree and then when you get home you talk to me about it. My mum never wanted to rock the boat when it came to grandma, I only once saw her yell at grandma the day she brought us a book, I remember mum saying "isn't that nice say thank you" then she saw the book and flew into a rage and through the book into the bin, the book was about crationism.
@@DraconicDuelist i disagree with that there is lots of debate within religion just you aren't allowed to question the religion itself. for example there is tons of debate among the early Jewish Rabbis about specific rules and holidays and stuff but the moment a relatively prominent rabbi said "there is no justice, there is no judge" (or so the story goes) he was excommunicated and all mentions of his name were replaced in the mishnah (the book of commentary on the old testament that has most of the rules not in the bible for judaism)
@@emperorconstantinexipalaio4121 As you and Abe seem to have missed, the "THIS IS NOT A DEBATE CLASS" bit is coming from the "authority" figure within the group. Religious heads hate being questioned. While debate may take place, it's usually between different groups, while those in charge expect little to no questions from those within their "flock" (especially not questions that weaken their stance).
@@DraconicDuelist Bad religious heads may not like being questioned but many can and do accept questions and engage in debate. I’ve had deep discussions with several priests before and they have addressed many of the questions that many people think they are too scared of. In every organized body of humans, there will be those on the top, some of whom will recognize the noble requirements of their duty and those that see it as a power under constant threat and will become corrupt. That doesn’t necessarily reflect on the deeper beliefs, central message, and, by extension, the legitimacy of said organizations. And you obviously have very little experience with religious bodies, because debates are constant within them. That’s why conventions and conferences are frequently held, trying to determine which doctrine and dogma is most accurate. I think you’re oversimplifying the matter a bit in order to best uphold your own stance, which we all do sometimes so I can’t blame you. It’s part of human psychology. Debate is, in actuality, frequent in both religious and irreligious circles. And good and bad leadership is also frequent within both religious and irreligious institutions.
Sometimes the best thing a teacher can say is "I'm not sure, I don't know." It's nice not only nice to hear the honest response to a good question but it also builds on relatability as teacher's may not know the answer to something too.
I was excommunicated from the roman catholic church when I was 3 years old (yes 3, that's not a typo) for asking a question. I was in Sunday school and the nun that was teaching us told us that god was everywhere and in everything. My toddler brain couldn't grasp that at the time. So I raised my hand and asked how god could be everywhere and in everything. According to them, that meant I was questioning god, which in turn meant I was committing the unforgivable sin. Hence excommunication.
My uncle had that issue where his boss promised promotions and he never got them. He brought in millions for their company in business but he rarely got a raise and didn’t get promoted. He worked harder and harder over the years and got more and more stressed until he had a heart attack. Bosses like that suck so bad. I’m glad you got out of there.
He said it right in a previous video, can't remember which one, but it might be because he pre-records a lot of his videos and doesn't actually post all of them.
Good on that girl for questioning her teacher. For that last one, the way I've heard it explained is a mix of things. First, the Mosaic law was not yet a thing, and so incest was not off the table yet. Then it's said that the gene pool was very clear at first to where intermixing didnt result in deformed children, it was just normal. However, after too much inbreeding and falling away from how we first were (somehow living for nearly 1k years), when it came time for the Mosaic law to be established, thus incest became a sin only then. Really weird, but then the Bible is fairly weird in general. And I say that even as a Christian myself.
To be fair, the first generation of incest is more likely to have issues but its still reasonably unlikely, it's successive incest where things begin to be compounded like genetic disorders but that still would be an issue for Adam and Eve as well as Noah since those are very tight bottlenecks and Noah's case happened after "the fall" and the first round of incest and when it was banned under Mosaic law I think. Best to be avoided in general for obvious reasons of course.
Relating back to the last story, my sister and I went to a catholic class after school once a week. My family is somewhat religious. One weekend we went to a scientific museum where our mom taught us about Lucy (the oldest human skeleton scientists found). That week when we went to the class, the teacher asked who were the first humans alive. My sister proudly raised her hand and when called on said “Lucy”. The room was dead silent. When the teacher tried to correct her, she just said “nope thats not right, its Lucy.” They went back and fourth for a bit before she finally surrendered to Adam and Eve.
I've often been thankful that I've grown up without religious indoctrination. Even if I had, I'm always skeptical and would have eventually figured out it isn't 100% universal truth. That side story about the kid asking about Cain is exactly why I'm thankful - the stories are often inconsistent to the point of self contradiction.
Last story, another proof that religion on this level has NO business being connected with kids education, it should be a opt-in thing when u turn 16 and up.
should be earlier than that. i never liked it as a kid, and stopped participating in religion when i reached high school. It should be an option given to the kids to choose, not the parents or the education system
As a kid I was raised Christian. I hated church because of the bullying and when I was put in a Christian school I never got a break from having religion shoved down my throat on a daily basis. It’s one of the main reasons I personally feel that religion schools should not be a thing and I am no longer a Christian. I left that school in year 11 and went to a public school where I swear I got a better education there then the previous years at the Christian school. Plus my friend who stayed nearly had a mental breakdown because ontop of the normal classes for the HSC he was forced to do biblical studies as part of the HSC while the rest of the classes were optional. Religion and schooling should be completely separate until you go to uni or collage where you have the right to choose
Man, just going to church was enough to turn me off of religion. I could not imagine the torment of going to a school based around it. If hell did exist, that would be it.
@@PurpledaisyShasta the only things schools should teach about religion is what they are (not just chritianity but as many as possible) and who to have a polite conversation about it with others

I always find it weird that I seem to have went to one of the only decent catholic schools. Not grades wise cause they do have better grades on average but everyone seems to have some religious horror story. I never did, and I was definitely that "outspoken atheist" kid. I would always ask questions and debate with teachers in sex ed and religion but it was never an issue. Most of the teachers liked discussion in the classes and actively sought it and we didnt always agree but they were chill about it. There was one teacher that questioned why I didnt join in prayers but I told her to eh "go passionately hug yourself". I said in one sex ed class "what happens if you wait till after marriage for sex and they're awful at it? Now your stuck with them." Teacher just turned round and went "so try before you buy? That's fair enough". Catholic school might just be different in Scotland but that's kinda weird considering all the religious violence and problems that still go on to a degree today
Fun fact: Most Christian denominations accept evolution and treat the stories of Adam and Eve and such as stories to teach a lesson. Again, I said MOST. (lookin at you creationists)
Yeah, I grew up in a pretty christian community and was actually a christian myself until my mid twenties. No one in my community thought of creationism as anything other than "something that was believed at the time the bible was written" and evolution is pretty much a no-brainer.
Yeah, the Bible is not supposed to be a history book, just a recolection of books that were the basis of the religion. Most of the things in it are not facts, specially the Old Testament.
I don't remember what denomination my family is a part of, but they are heavy creationists. Was incidentally their views in religion that led me to lose what faith I had been raised with by 13 or 14. Too many questions about myself and the world that they couldn't and wouldn't answer, so I found them elsewhere.
I'm so glad my mom didn't restrict my internet or TV as a kid. I would have never learned anything if it were up to the adults in my life. My mom was so against talking about sex she literally just gave me the pad box and read the label when I got my period. I don't remember my exact reaction. I just remember the bag hitting my face and being confused by the pictures.
I questioned my religion so much in front of my youth pastor that he tried to have me removed from the church band. He said I was a bad example and "not Christian enough," I've had horrible relationships with the Christians in my family my whole life. The only way I was developing a healthy relationship with my faith again was through the band and the people in it. But this man didn't accept my questions, he saw them as protests, not inquires. It got to the point where he exploded at me. screaming at me in the choir room after I had just performed with the band. I haven't gone back to the youth group since. I don't know if my faith will ever recover. :/
If that had been me, when they asked me to change my name, I'd have changed my last name instead. When they ask why, I would say "You have proven that you cannot accept me, your child, for who I am. In return, I cannot accept you, my parents, for who you are. Therefore, I can no longer carry your name."
I’m a teacher, and I straight up tell my kids when I don’t know something, but I always add on, “but I’ll look it up and get back with you.” It’s never awkward to not know something, unless you make it out that way yourself.
My favorite class in college was called Human Sexually taught by this couple who were always so in sync. Any question you had they’d answer or come to the next class with an answer. Rape, religion, birth control, sexuality, life, death. I miss that crazy couple.

I love hearing other stories about people raised in faith that are naturally curious and it exposes and frustrates adults too up on a high horse. When I was a kid my Sunday School teacher got lots of headaches because of me. I asked the same question about Cain. I asked if angels had genetalia, why were angels only presented as male, and when she asked us to draw a picture of heaven I drew a hot topic in it. I also fell asleep playing Mary in our Christmas play.
My first son could find a loophole in EVERYTHING! If we told him to change his name, he would have done the exact same thing! He was such a malicious compliance kid! When I was in High School I had this awful math teacher. She did a number of annoying things through the year and my entire class disliked her. Anyways, on the last day of school she held a pie party and we all brought in pies to share. One student brought in a chocolate pie that no one touched. They didn't want to take it home, so I asked the teacher if I could take a slice to my next class and share it with a friend. She very obnoxiously rolled her eyes and said I could have some as long as I took a little piece because she planned on taking it home (it was not explicitly given to her she just decided that). So I told her thank you and awkwardly cut the smallest sliver of pie while she stared me down. Right as I was putting it on a plate another student came up and started talking to her about our finals. While she was distracted I picked up the entire pie, left her the slice, walked out and triumphantly shared it with my friends in my next class.
The Catholic one really got to me, because I had also had a Catholic upbringing and still am. I was incredibly curious too and had hundreds of questions (still do), but unlike OP's, my questions were actually answered and my parents showed me nothing but patience and interest in my questions. When I asked my religion teacher the same questions as OP (not the sex ed stuff lol), he gave me calm theological answers, and also gave me sources that I could read up on to look at different opinions and come to my own conclusion, same with my parents. So when I hear stories like OP's, I'm confused at how unreasonable, dismissive and defensive these people can be, when it should be so easy to give an educated answer if you actually know what you're teaching. Clearly, these people didn't. What a joke.
My thought was that OP was more qualified for the job than the person they hired and they definitely knew this. So they deliberately set the interview at a time and place they ~thought~ OP couldn't possibly make it, as well as blocking all alternatives. But...ta da!... OP arrived, hopefully with a spring in the step.
The Sex Ed class story makes me applaud OP! I’m a Baptist and growing up, I had a LOT of questions! I called my childhood pastor and he was always very welcoming towards me! I still go to him to this day!
I just wanna say thanks for reading the stories. I just hate the channels that have a robot/computer reading instead. Having a person actually reading it just feels more natural and overall better to listen to.
It's kinda wild to me listening about American religious schools/RE lessons just being so Christian focused. My memory of our RE lessons in here in the UK we learned about all religions, even doing work on atheism and arguments against religion. There was also stuff asking moral questions like environmentalism and civil rights. Which inspired me to want to do philosophy at A levels. (Whenever I had homework I'd choose to do it on Hinduism, cus their patheon of gods was coolest and fun to learn about.)
I would have totally gotten kicked out of Sunday school for asking where did all the water go after the great flood? The whole planet was flooded, and the only way to fix that is evaporation, but that just causes... more rain...?
Adam and Eva were representing man and woman race, not just two human beings. When I was listening to the last story I was glad for our Sunday class teacher. He thought us very well.
Getting grounded over a name is so stupid. What? He going to jail because he don't want to use his legal name and not real name? I had the same issue but most people didnt find it a big deal and tried to suspend me but that didnt happen.
I asked a question about Adam and Eve too. The conversation was like this : *ME* : If Adam and Eve were the only humans on earth and they had two sons, and one was killed, so just one son to continue human race, how did he manage to do it? *TEACHER* : Adam and Eve had more children, they just weren't mentioned in the Bible. *ME* : But why weren't they mentioned? Also, we learned in history that the ancient Egyptians married their siblings and cousins and- She just told me to be quiet and then she ignored me for the rest of the lesson 😐

@@charizardsniper5064
You got a point there - it's like how science could be considered the study of magic.
The fact that a child could be excluded from actual classes for such a small reason is unbelievable, but I love that spite was a good motivator
Maybe it would leave less people feeling bitter about high school.

i love how fragile overly-religious adults are when they're questioned about the flaw in their own biased logic

"who did Cain marry when he got exiled?"
... that's actually a really good question... i figured since every single person in the bible lives for more than 100 years, or at least the prominent characters, he probably got together with one of his nieces. and the only reason i say that, is because according to the bible, Cain got married, but there were no other humans in the world at that point, hence...
@@TheAwesomes2104
The question of why he didnt take out bad mutations is the same answer as to why he didnt get rid of sin or anything bad at all.
The Bible’s extremely sexist, so I assume Adam and Eve had way more children than just Cain and Abel. I’d guess it was one of his sisters
Adam and Eve has a LOT more children than just Cail and Abel. I think there's an accounting somewhere of all of them, but I dont have a specific book or chapter.
This is why we NEED proper SEX ED CLASSES. We literally have adults who don’t know how sex works.
Yeah like what a virgin noob lol
We had health class that wasn't optional and they went over everything good. But i also think that maybe the parents should tell kids stuff too like mine did.

That's why I'm not religious, too many questions with no answer
My take on it is that the Old Testament is like a book of legends, none of it never happened, they’re just cautionary tales.
"THIS IS NOT A DEBATE CLASS!"
Nice summery of religious schools there.
Remove class and it's a nice summary of Religions in general.
@@DraconicDuelist That’s cap. Religion is full of debate.

Who grounds kids anymore, 2020’s punishment for kids is to go to the store full of Karens.
Heh! That churchy thing...yeah, I got kicked out of Sunday School for asking whether Adam & Eve had belly buttons :D
Fun fact: Most Christian denominations accept evolution and treat the stories of Adam and Eve and such as stories to teach a lesson. Again, I said MOST. (lookin at you creationists)
It seems to be the reverse.... also if you don't believe in the bible, evolution, and Adam and Eve, then what exactly does your god do?
@@clexa-the1002 Wow, that’s a lot of generalizations in not a lot of words. I’m impressed.

If a teacher's answer to a student's question on their curriculum is "go to the office", they are unqualified to be a teacher. No exceptions.
OP's parents in the name changing story sound awful. I hope OP got them to come around to using their preferred name.
If that had been me, when they asked me to change my name, I'd have changed my last name instead. When they ask why, I would say "You have proven that you cannot accept me, your child, for who I am. In return, I cannot accept you, my parents, for who you are. Therefore, I can no longer carry your name."
I’m a teacher, and I straight up tell my kids when I don’t know something, but I always add on, “but I’ll look it up and get back with you.”
It’s never awkward to not know something, unless you make it out that way yourself.
I'm an information professional, "I'll look that up and get back to you." is literally my default response.

We have nothing but fond memories, though. Every time, he was merely pointing out our mistakes and teaching us how to be more clear. Really, that's about the WORST thing that kid has EVER done. He's always been such a good boy and now he's a good man! I'm the proudest mama!
5:35 I feel ya bro on the whole no-one-remembers-my-birthday thing.
I don't know if this is +1 for humanity because you did the right thing or -1 bc this teacher exists, but regardless, I'm living for it
The Catholic one really got to me, because I had also had a Catholic upbringing and still am.
Lol, that teacher can't handle when it's her marriage being questioned, it's like that meme in spanish "tú te llevas y no te aguantas".
The conversation was like this :
*ME* : If Adam and Eve were the only humans on earth and they had two sons, and one was killed, so just one son to continue human race, how did he manage to do it?
*TEACHER* : Adam and Eve had more children, they just weren't mentioned in the Bible.
*ME* : But why weren't they mentioned? Also, we learned in history that the ancient Egyptians married their siblings and cousins and-
