Hey Alex, the way you explain things simply resonate. I’ve seen a few PGA professionals and they couldn’t boil down this simple move in the same way that you can to save their lives. You have a gift, thank you my friend!
I can’t tell you how many videos I watched trying to find a way to shallow the club that I could actually execute. Then, I watched yours. This is so easy for me to do, and reproduce. Many thanks, Alex! You’re the best!
The more I watch this pro, the more I like his teaching. This drill I believe is excellent and has cleared up many questions I had relating to shallowing.
Thank You Alex, Your best video ever! May be, I`ve not seen all of Your videos. But I never have heard a better explonation of shallowing the club and getting extention of the arms the same time.
Hey Alex, I did this drill at the practice range today. It is unbelievable how nice I was making contact with the ball. It even slowed down my down swing which was historical for me. I did this move with all my clubs . You know your stuff. Thank you so much. Keep up the great work.
Hi Alex I have a question it seems in a lot a video lessons and training aids your arms are connected to your body in the golf swing I've tried this but it feels so tight when you swing the club am I doing something wrong hope you can make sense of this keep the lessons coming kind regards Lee
Yes. The key “feel” for me is all about right wrist cocked more back, not up(holding a plate). This flattens the left wrist, and with some natural left forearm rotation, sets the club perfectly at the top(glove logo pointing up at the sky about 45*). Now, the move you mentioned is to initially lower the arms, and club, as a unit, without losing those wrist positions. I think that’s where people go wrong. Most people never get the club set correctly at the top. Then, even if they do, they fire the wrists wayyyy too soon in transition. And you’re right… The butt of the club pointing outside the ball/target line is an EXCELLENT way to check this. Great video.
More gold from Alex. Top 50 instructors? You are eating your way up the food chain my friend! Exceptional explanation. Couple this with the Faldo "left shoulder to the sky" you did...pure gold! Thanks Man!
Alex If you have shorter legs longer upper torso. Do you have a different swing plane than someone who has longer legs and shorter upper torso. How is the plane different ? That’s what I need to know
Can you show me with two different players one width short legs and long upper torso and one with long legs and shorter upper torso. Does that affect the golf plane
Was skeptical but was at a loss for how to get rid of being steep. I can’t believe How easy this is and moreso how straight and flush I hit the ball using this method. This is absolute gold and may be the final ingredient to push me to a plus handicap. Thank you thank you thank you!!! For this!!
@@AlexElliottGolf after almost a week of practicing this, I'm noticing improvement but video shows me that I'm nowhere near where I need to be yet. I've also noticed that sometimes this move increases the likelihood of me hitting it thin. Any reason for that or suggestions? Will keep working on it...thanks!
Hi Alex, this move is a game changer for me! Question though, do you lower extend and rotate the lower half of the body first (all at the same time) and keep the upper part of the body quiet before you swing through? Sequencing is super important to me and you just ran out of time.
Holding the tray an age old swing thought. Alex, we all think our weight should have transitioned to the lead leg before the club gets down into the slot. What about the keep your back to the target for as long as possible. Plz explain these comments.
Great video! I can shallow the club finally!! I know I’m making better contact, but sometimes I get a high and to the right flight? Am I missing something? Do I need to bow the wrist? Please help!!
Sounds like just an open club face. Make sure you're turning the club face back to square by rotating the hands in transition and through the downswing. If were holding the club parallel the ground, the left hand is revving a motorcycle and the right wrist is cupping (for a right hander). You'll see the club face turn back to square, then rotate through to impact. Clay Ballard calls this "the move" if you want to learn more.
@AlexElliottGolf , A wee bit of back ground info. I started playing golf in June of last year. Driver is a taylormade M3, set 12.5°. Shaft is a Ventus senior flex. On course I drive between 180yrd to 220yrd. So after quite a few dodgy attempts, of the technique you showed yesterday. The longest drive I achieved was 235 yard, several over 220, and fairly straight lol. Though I'm sure I can achieve further. 18 holes tomorrow to try on course.
I’ve been trying to do this for a year or more and can not grasp how it’s supposed to feel. All my shots are going left due to outside to in swing path! I need serious work.
@@AlexElliottGolf Not long. 26th will be nice enough. I play through winter, but this is the worst month typically. And weather has not cooperated with my work schedule. 😂. But thanks big time! I just need to synch it all up.
@@AlexElliottGolf I got out there today. 48 F with 30 mph winds. Lol. But I was surprised how well the change went. I did a much better job squaring it up. 🍻

Ball striking has never been so good because of this if I could only get my short game to be as good.

Excellent! That works fantastic. It also increases my swing speed. You are a great teacher and how you explain things is very understandable.
Excellent explanation on how the body works to shallow into impact.

This really is the easiest and best drill I have seen explaining how to shallow the club.

Got to agree on the first line. This has completely changed how I'm doing my drills and it feels so easy
