Thank you, thank you. I played today. This such a simple thing and yet, and yet; what an amazing change to my all my long clubs, especially the driver. Slice gone and so much more distance, 20 metres added to my driver, 3 wood is now as long as my driver used to be.

I’ve played golf for 30 years. I’ve been abow to get to scratch and even shoot several rounds in the 60’s. All along the way, the feel of the right arm movement is one I’ve never been able to figure out. I saw you discuss this in one of your livestreams awhile back and then I saw AMG video on this. Honestly, I’ve never pured so many shots so consistently in my life. This understanding of how the right arm works has to be one of the holy grails of the golf swing.

I've borrowed a feel from Shawn Clement: I get to the top of the backswing and feel that I'm about to cast a fishing rod in the direction of a person standing on my target line on the trail side. I don't actually make the cast but my arms lower when I begin the transition to the downswing. So far it's working better than anything else I've tried. I'll see what success I can find with your technique.

Your video was so simple that I nearly brushed it aside. It was a good thing I didn't. After about 15 shots while warming up for my next round, your explanation clicked. Great video Kyle. You have a gift for explaining the swing in simple terms. I am personally battling with what I believe are 2 schools. The first "Bender/Morris" style swing with the thought of move the arms down at the ball and just turn the body (obviously happen simultaneously) and the second rotational school which preach turn the body and just let your arms be passive. I conceptually prefer your swing thoughts to the rotational school but struggle with heel shots when I try to implement them due to early extension. Keep up the great work. I'll keep grinding.

First off, awesome video! Second, the speed piece is missing here. I’d love to see a video that reconciles generating speed with this movement. It seems like in the full swing, this position is nothing more than a checkpoint that you pass through during the motion of throwing the club violently outward behind and away from you. “aka. drawing the arrow from the quiver”. Without the speed element, this motion could drastically reduce clubhead speed

We need to replace the first move from the top from being the torso rotation and to being the lowering of the arms followed by the torso, shoulders and arms? Right?

You’re not alone buddy. You’re not alone!
I connect better with Justin Rose’s thought process 4:32; let the LEFT arm sweep down the front of the chest until it reaches the belt line, then swing away. By doing so, JR is naturally lowering his right arm and unfolding his right elbow as Kyle suggests. Note the caveat; JR DOES NOT turn his hips right away. All the more reason to slow the takeaway and downswing.
Just found this, which is more technical, but suggests the same mind thought as Kyle: ruclips.net/video/YfvVnWwhQFc/видео.htmlsi=_xGf4zP438YIldSR

    - you shift weight to front leg and
    - ROTATE

  • @Mr_JohnnyX
    @Mr_JohnnyX Год назад +1

Justin Rose talks about lowering his LEFT arm and Kyle talks about lowering the right arm. These are two completely different things. Surely weight shift to the left (lead leg) automatically lowers the arms? The dog wags the tail, not the other way around.

George Gankas would have a field day with this video… You’re absolutely right, rotation does all of this stuff automatically. The arms should be passive in the swing and I feel like this video is going to make a lot of people over use their arms.

Replace this feeling at the top of the swing with the one you currently have- which is to turn your shoulders at the top, and producing an over the top swing.

Not my favorite drill here it promotes extention of the trail arm which should actually be slightly bent on impact , no need to open your arm like this if you shift your weight back correctly the club should shallow naturally this this drill is the equivalence of the loop drill that is basically a drill to manufacture the shallow movement for players that can't open their lead hip and transfer their weight

I really wish people stopped paying so much for the crazy teachers that say the body should hit the ball and just learn how to use their arms more in the swing. All ams use their body too much anyway. I don't understand how MORE body twitches, angle holding, and fast turns are going to make people better. Ams need to learn how to find the slot with the arms first. Then they can do that other crazy stuff later for added power, stingers, etc.

For such a simple motion you’ve found a way to make it sound tremendously complicated. So much talk.

Good video, but saying “right?” every two sentences is annoying.

Kyle is an excellent coach that works with ALOT of kids, so he’s probably used to saying that.

There is NO NEED TO SHALLOW if your take away is always on the swing center circle. It never ever needs the shallowing a shaft. So wasteful video here.

Sorry you feel that way. Shallowing is a vital part in the golf swing but I agree other things before shallowing need to be in place.
