I think there is a subtle difference though. Although he clearly kept it private, I firmly believe that Warrior had a terminal heart condition and knew his time was very, very limited. Just look at him only a year - 18 months before he died - he was still in phenomenal physical shape - look at the signings he did, the video game advert. Then look at just his last 3 or 4 months, and particular last few days you could see he was frail and seriously unwell. It all advanced very, very rapidly, but there is absolutely NO way he didn't know he was at the very least seriously unwell. He wanted a last chance to address the fans before he died, and I believe that was his motivation in reality. This is very different to Bret.

His attitude towards the fans stank. (Multi-stories of him making "make a wish" kids wait for hours for him to show and ignoring kids if there were no TV or Pap taking pics.)
What he has said in the many uploads that have been taken down.. Taken down because they went way to far and were sick.
101 shoot interviews saying that the entrance was all he had and was blown before the bell even rang and made working with someone who could work.. 10 x harder and the one person who didn't care was Warrior..

I think people dislike Jim because they didnt understand him at all. This person is in his own world and he has his own ways. Bret Heart criticizing him for not meeting a Make a wish kid. Bret needs to understand that some people dont feel comfortable meeting with sick kids like that. Warrior being brutally honest and to the point person wouldnt know what to say to that kid.
What was somoene like Jim gonna say to a dying kid? "Hold on kid, you wont die"? It's not about Warrior being coward like Bret claims- its just its a very idiotic thing for many people to meet dying kids because they are their heroes. Especially when you are very realistic person. My father was like Jim in this regard and he couldnt stand watching people suffering. It ate him inside. Especially watching kids crying or in pain. it made him deeply uncomfortable and disstressed him deeply. Whenever those documentaries of showing sick kids women in concentration camps would show- he would just close his eyes and beg me to change the channel.
jim was not a person who could make people laugh. So he couldnt even try doing this. Idk, its just there is this character of the warrior who is all about truth, fighting, being about the way of the warriors and Im still struggling to come up with what was he supposed to say to that kid.
I understand Bret Hart's position too, but knowing people like Jim and my father- I just must say nobody is in the right about this.
Im sure that Warrior didnt choose not to meet with the kid because of cowardice. Its just some people.

Bret rightfully buried Warrior in his book by describing how in 1990 Warrior was told by WWF management that there was a cancer ridden little boy and his parents waiting for an autograph backstage near the ramp. Instead of doing the right thing and signing the autograph for the kid he left the kid waiting all night in the arena. Then after wrestling his match he left the arena leaving the kid devastated. Bret said he lost all respect for the Ultimate Warrior that day. Bret went as far as to say as much as he disliked Hulk Hogan on a personal level Hogan was always a class act when it came to meeting with and signing autographs for little kids. For Bret to give Hogan respect shows how bad what Warrior did was.
