    You got to love those classic round plane windows.
    This is what you call a real plane. Screaming sound, round windows, detailed wing.
    This is what you call a real plane.

    its a beautiful sight to see an airport full of T-tails during takeoff, I wish they still made airplanes with them.

    I always remember the steep Tu-134A/B take off.That was so exciting.The soviet age basic fleet of Riga airport were Tu-134A and Tu-134B later.

    My memories of Tupolevs 134's and 154's are stil mu precious ones.

  • @kozular

    Tu-134 - one of my favourite aircraft. Flight on Tupolev causes for me very large interest unlike a new Boeing and Airbus...
    Those feelings which you can try in Tu-134, Tu-154(preferably Tu-154B-2), you will never feel in modern airplanes... They are sense of the real iron airplane, real flight!
    I love the Russian airplanes!
    And very very sadly, that these airplanes soon will be history...

    Check out the condensation forming in the inlet around the fan cone just after they reach takeoff thrust. Cool!

  • @ricejuh

    You shouldn't be worried, these planes are extremely safe.

    I love the way old turbofans sound. Very harsh and businesslike. The D30 and second-generation JT8D (9, 11, 15, 17) sound very similar, right down to the harsh grating noise and shrill whine. Cool stuff!

    Love the sound of the Soloviev D-30s. JT3D, what was that again?

    Come to think of it, besides the pitch envelope being really close, the fan sound is pretty close too. The sound at MCT just after takeoff is just about identical to what you'd hear on a DC-9.

  • @richygambs321
    @richygambs321 12 лет назад

    so true!! Not even on takeoff you barely hear the sound. Also depends on where you sit. If near wing of A380 you hear engine noise, but its not very nice.

  • @civagiarn
    @civagiarn 14 лет назад

    @inexadra yeah, although the strange thing is once the tu134 has spooled up it starts roaring in the cabin, which is unusual for a rear-engined aircraft.

  • @inexadra
    @inexadra 14 лет назад

    Thanks for posting this terrific vid! I'd love to get a flight on one of these babies! It's kinda funny how similar it actually sounds to the DC-9. Similar general design, but I wasn't expecting quite that much similarity.

    I agree with you in all things. My favorite plane is the Tu-154 (all types) and i flew with her, it is truthful feeling.
    We should prevent the Tupolevs (both 154 and 134) from become extinct.

    Old? Maybe. But the engine sound is fantastic! Very good record! Thanks!

  • @LordFabs
    @LordFabs 11 лет назад

    Indeed, the only reason that they are less safe is because there are lots of potential mistakes the crew can make (i notice a few of them had fuel configuration issues). Aside from that, they seem like a good plane. I should go for a fly on one before they are retired.

  • @richygambs321
    @richygambs321 11 лет назад

    GUYS GUYS!! right after you watch this video, watch a video of an A380 takeoff from the passenger cabin. you'll barely hear a thing, if the video is even taken from near the engines. on this video, i had to turn the volume down a lot, for the A380, now even max volume is enough. then you realise what a beat' this plane is, at least from a sound perspective.

  • @onground330
    @onground330 15 лет назад

    And in Airbus 380 you hear almost nothing, that is horrible -,- , like you spend you time in a hotel room not in a airplane ! Russian Tupolev 154, 134 and antonov 24 ;) are the BEST .
    отличный самолёт :)

    Im going to Russia just to fly on them. Whats the point in flying if your not gonna get goose pimples whilst doing it?

  • @davie0123
    @davie0123 13 лет назад

    @kozular Sadly? No it will save a lot of lives! Even the president of Russia Medvedev calls for renewing the fleets of Russian airlines because he stated that the Russian built planes are not safe to fly because of many defects. But you are right about the feelings compared to modern planes, in this kind of planes you feel scared and you hope you arrive, in modern planes you just know you will arrive without having hearing damage due to the horrific loud noises coming from these engines.
