It worked! Thank you. The only thing that I did differently was that I left the baking soda and vinegar on the glass cooktop overnight to work its magic. And it did! No scraping was necessary. After it was all clean, I buffed it and used window cleaner to make it shine.
Vinegar and baking soda canceled each other out. You were just lucky that they worked separately. Notice you left it overnight. All mixing does is break both down.
Yeah! That’s a great way to get a new-looking stove. :) There is 5% acidity in white vinegar, which eats away at all that crud on the stove. Just let it sit there for a long while and it will dissolve whatever it touches. White vinegar is great for removing rust and crud off metal and coins. Just get A container, throw your items in it, pour the white vinegar in it, and let it sit in there for hours or a few days, depending on how much you want removed, and it will get rid of all the filth from the item. It’s awesome.
It's hilarious that no matter how wet I get the baking soda it just doesn't want to mix. I have some on my hand right now and it was just like fine sand.
I accidentally got my microfiber cloth too close to the burner and thought it had cool down. Now some microfiber melted onto my glass stove top. How do I get it off? I’ve tried water and baking soda, baking soda and vinegar, Ceramabryte, etc. Also, is there a way to get scratches out?
I can’t believe your trick worked. There’s a lot to say about baking soda and white vinegar. So many uses for it. Still trying to get a little bit of that scratch out, but it actually took some of the scratch out. One more application I’ll get that little bit of burned on boo-boo out. Thank you for your video. I really appreciate it.
@@FaithsHomemaking well at least your vinegar and baking soda trick worked. I left it on longer and it took everything off. The scratches from cast-iron skillet. So, if anybody knows how to work those scratches out that would be great. The baking soda and vinegar got out a little bit on the milder scratches. There’s one deep scratch I’d like to get out.
What is the name of the product do you use to spray at the end to seal it the shine I guess. It's not pictured in the video. No one of the ingredient is like in all videos. Thank you
I used a method cleaner for glass or an all purpose spray in the video. I also love to use vinegar/water solution for a quick shine if I don’t have method spray. 👍
Baking soda is an abrasive, so it makes sense it could scratch a surface. This is why people put it in their toothpaste. If you want to use it, just use a tiny, little bit on the stove, and that may not cause scratching.
You need some level of abrasion to clean baked on grease. Those glass top stove surfaces are not mirror smooth. I've used baking soda vinegar on stainless steel and there were no visible scratches.
They neutralize each other. You’re using baking soda as a mild abrasive. That’s all. You can simplify the cleanup with vinegar. Spray more and let it react. Mop up the sodium acetate solution with a sponge.
@@FaithsHomemaking I don't think the poster means to skip the baking soda. After the cleanup, use more vinegar to dissolve leftover baking soda to enhance the final mopup. I've used your process to clean stainless steel. The baking soda goes everywhere so beware of that part. It flies around like flour. ;)
What the heck is “Methods” ?? If you are doing videos to give us helpful information, slow down and speak clearly. No point at all in listening to your tips if you can’t understand what you are saying. I have a 6 year old glass stove top. It looks great except for a few scratches, so mist importantly, I would appreciate your recommendation on what it is you are spraying to, as you claim, prevent scratches and stains. If you are using basics like vinegar and baking soda, I really don’t understand you throwing in another product.
@@josephinesipple6956 Methods is an all purpose cleaner you can find at Target, Amazon, etc. That's what the heck it is. Actually she tells you that right above your comment. It's pointless to use vinegar and baking soda at the same time because they cancel each other out. Just use baking soda and water, or vinegar and water.

May I ask how long did you leave your burnt spots on the stove?

So simple and easy to understand but works great 👍🏼 love it, thank you
Clean up is easy, collect all the baking soda in one pile and then slide an envelope or something sturdy to pick it up... Easier than using a towel...

Major props, Faith! thanks for the excellent tutorial!
I am going to try this later today to clean my Stovetop.i have seen other recommendations to use lemon juice too
Hi Thank you will this work for burnt on stains?
How do you get all the grease and crime off your cooker top grates? Valerie.
lay a wet towel over the baking soda for 20 minutes for stubborn burn marks
Thanks for the tip! 🙂
What sort of spray do you use in the polishing step? I could not understand what you said.
You can use methods glass/surface cleaner and wipe with a clean microfiber cloth. 🌻
After following these steps my glasstop looks dull and corroded in a few spots. How do I get the glass to shine back up again?

Slowed it down to 0.25 so I could see Jaime Sommers at work

Methods - All-purpose spray. Lately, I've been using methods glass/surface cleaner.

Actually they work amazingly well together at cutting grease and stuck on food.
