7 EXPERT CLEANING TIPS YOU NEED TO BE USING: ruclips.net/video/-C-ic2H24OU/видео.html

I just wanted to come back here all these years later and say thanks for the tip Melissa. I first watched this video I think... like 2 or 3 years after you made it? And this has been how I clean my stove ever since. I've never looked back. I've given the trick to many friends and just now my little sister called me to ask how to degrease her stove. Told her how to do it but figured "Just in case I'll send her the video." And I couldn't believe this video was so old now.
So thanks Melissa! For my number one cleaning tip besides "Vinegar is your friend"

Melissa - I've been trying various methods to clean my glass stove top without damaging it for sometime and without success. Your technique works great. I had to treat the stove top twice as it was very caked on after a weekend of pickling dills and beets. I used your method in between pickling of the dills and beets and it was well worth it. Clean up after the beets (sugar water syrup base) that of course splashes on the cook top was a cinch. Your tip worked amazingly. Thank you.

I did one minor change to your cleaning tip. I took two dish cloths, wet them thoroughly, wrung them out, placed them in the microwave for 5 minutes on high, and then placed them on the stove top. One side benefit is the steaming of the cloths in the microwave can help you wipe the crusties off the inside of the microwave.

Well, I have a gas range so I went to my mother's house to clean her stove. had burnt food/grease rings since the first use oh I'd say 20 years ago. It took two go-rounds. Totally impressed, and the stovetop looks as it did new. Thank you

I had high hopes for this video because every other video by Melissa has been splendid, helpful, and very educational. However, this method did not work for me and my glass stove top almost at all. It made a tiny dent in the burnt parts of the stove, though the rest was fine. However that wasn't, I think, the point of the video as it more so seems aimed towards cleaning the stove top altogether. I've found other videos that helped more, but so far none have exactly fixed the issue. Anyway, thank you for the video regardless. I'm glad to see it's helped other people out!

    • @amythinks

@@jenniferodonoghue4222 I've heard baking soda (I assume you meant soda) and vinegar just cancel each other out and make water. Not sure myself, but lots of info online says this combination is a common mistake.

    • @jenniferodonoghue4222
      @jenniferodonoghue4222 5 лет назад +7

Amy Lucas I used it myself today for cooked on enchilada sauce that didn’t wanna stay in the pan. If you add too much white vinegar then it wouldn’t be any good. I put it in a bowl and make a paste, like toothpaste. Then I put it in the stovetop and let it sit for about 10 min. Scrub with a sponge and wipe with a soft towel. Works for me every time. And yes I meant soda lol. Didn’t catch that.

Hi there :) I just wanted to say a BIG thank you for giving me a new glass top :D Anybody who is sceptical know that it does actually work. If it doesn't it's because you just have to leave it on for more time. I did have to scrape it off with the edge of a knife (as I don't have a scraper) but it came off soooo easily! Again thank you! I have now subscribed to your channel and will watch other videos too! Great work! :)

Thank you for your ideas! Something I loved was that you use old wash rags instead of paper towels - saves money and works - well, except on the tough stuff, which I expected! But someone else said use the real flat top stove cleaner for that, as it polishes, as well. As far as I see it, you'll save a bundle using the baking soda to begin with, then once/week with the special cleaner will be an added plus. (LOVE THAT SCRAPER, BY THE WAY!)

Melissa Im really enjoying your channel and cleaning has become something rather exciting... ALMOST!!! I am a housekeeper and Im learning a lot of great tips to help me in my work and this tip is going to be great, but from time to time I encounter someone with an older cook top and this is especially bad with white cook tops. Im assuming the problem is from years of not cleaning their stove properly as most of these stoves have brown marks all over and around the burners and Ive always been at a loss for how to clean them. Im guessing this exact method won't take care of those but I could be wrong. Can you tell me if it will or if there is any alternative method that can make those older stoves look new again?

It's even easier if you use warmed distilled white vinegar instead of water the girl in this video wasted a ton of baking soda by not using vinegar a little bit of baking soda and vinegar goes a long way on a stove this dirty the dish soap wouldn't have even been needed. Nor would you have to wait any longer than about 3 minutes.

I used Ceramabryte and an accompanying pad that came with my new stove from GE. After 40 min, I got the stain off. They recommend priming it after each cooking use. I am very disappointed that every time I cook its going to be a pain.

I just had one client who swore it was necessary, do you feel it is?

This method doesn’t always work well. It does remove most spots but I find burnt on grease and burnt on sugar are very resistant to removal. I do the baking sofa treatment first and then use the opposite dull side of a small kitchen knife to get off the rest. One of those green pot scrubbers helps too. No need to buy a special tool. Just go gently. I think glass stove tops are an invention from hell. I don’t know what stove manufacturers are thinking of to have so many made with this feature. At least the old fashioned stove burners were small. Just soak them in a sink or use tin burner liners.

Potatos boiled over on mine & burned a place on my stove eye. I have not been able fix it. I even tried a cleaner from Walmart made for this kind of stove. Also tried Dawn Dish Soap, baking soda, spraying with a small amount of vinegar & water, spraying glass cleaner & tried scraping it with this scraper that came with the cleaner I bought, but nothing worked. It did not get any worse, but did not get any better either. Any suggestions?

Do I need to wear a striped top for this? I don't have one and I don't look good in horizontal stripes. Will it affect the outcome if I wear my Parks and Recreation sweatshirt instead?

I heat a cup of water in the microwave for 2 minutes, then rub on glass cook top with a sponge on a stick, then wipe off. This gets the glass super clean without using anything but very hot water.

You can also use regular glass cleaning on the whole stove... and dry it off with some newspaper (take off the thumbtack
so it dosnt scratch the surface)

Would this technique work well on a gas range as well? Or is this more specifically for glass top? I can never get the stove clean. . .

I hate my kitchen off white tile floor and would like to know what electric cleaning machine that scrubs the grout as well as the floor and sucks up the mess. I'm too old to get down on my knees to do this job

I have a question, this is great when you start with a brand new glass top, but what about some of us that have inherited a burned on glass top. 3 of my "burners" have black spots on them ...I hate it looking that way. What can I do? we've tried the soda and vinegar and we've tried a scraper...forget it.

    Hi Melissa,
Thank you for teaching and explaining to us about cleaning our homes etc.
I'll like to know what do you think about Le Creuset cookware on a glass top range; do you think that they'd be too heavy for the glass? I'm thinking about buying a set and thought that I'd ask your opinion.
Thank you again and God bless.
