Wow, I've been researching quite a bit and hadn't caught the 256Kbps limit after 5GB when international with T-Mobile. Thanks for highlighting that. That's a huge factor for me since I travel quite a bit.

Question. What about domestic roaming? At summer camp in mtns (no tmobile tower nearby) my friends on TMobile had automatic roaming to the at&t tower! However im on mint (a tmobile mvno) and i have no roaming. So no signal = no signal but again t mobil has roaming partnerships. Anyone know about google fi DOMESTIC roaming (and us cellular isnt in the area)
My only problem is I use more than 50/GB a month. Maybe I’ll look in future
The first of the year I went from Metro By T-Mobile to T-Mobile. I went from $50/month and 35GB of data to $45/month and 50GB of data. I have mostly 5 X 5 signal everywhere I go in my area and the occasional 4 X 5 signal bars I won't complain about.

We pay $40 a line at metro with unlimited data,problem is the signal is sh*t everywhere. I want a phone with dual sim so I can use this and something else.
I don't like how Google Fi forces you to stay on the pay by the gig plan if you choose it until your cycle. Like if you aren't sure and later you find out you need more than you should be able to change
I have been with T-Mobile for 7 years now. Still have the Senior 2 lines for $70 incl tax. I also added internet service at home for $25/mo on a deal. At this point I can't afford to switch.
That's RUclips premium for a year. Not RUclips TV. Big difference

I'm a single person who travels the US for work and started traveling internationally again. I am using Mint Mobile Unlimited and it's great for the US but when I leave the US, I am spending a lot in data either through Mint or through International eSIMs. What would be the best option for me?
I don't travel a lot but on paper, Google fi is better if you travel outside of US but you need to do all the comparison yourself to decide what is best in your situation
I use Tmobile and get a local SIM. Sometimes I will rent a local hotspot. Put the TMobile on wifi calling but still have the text available for 2 step verifications. The GoogleFi will drop you if you stay international using the full plan for more than 90 consecutive days. If you take shorter trips, that may work best for you. I used to use double SIM phones, but now use unlocked eSIM with a local physical SIM.
Taxes aren't included with Fi. Does that equal out with T Mobile Magenta?
I have four lines with Metro by T-Mobile for 100 bucks complete. When I do have to travel outside the country I turn on my Google Fi in the on the $20 account and turn it off when I get back and they send me a prorated refund.
I have Mint Mobile and it's great for me at home but traveling outside of the US has been rough. Mint's international data is expensive and I had mixed experiences with Dent and Airalo. I might consider Google Fi next time.
@@MarkSkrzypczak it worked great in Scotland last year and so far London Heathrow and Northern Italy this year. Will cancel when I get home again and get a prorated refund.

T-Mobile works in some parts of my town, some part’s doesn’t work so well.
Both not worth, I pay $25 a month for truly unlimited data on visible mobile. Downloaded 5-6 games, streamed on twitch, and binged RUclips and used 500gb already and no throttling or data caps. This is about 1 week of usage btw because I'm a heavy data user.
You said I could connect a smart watch to google fi. I didn't think you could connect a lte smartwatch to Google fi an use stand alone cellular?
Google Fi no longer offers RUclips tv for a year. Also I usually just utilize Bluetooth with my wearable devices instead of having an extra line added to my account
Google Fi offers free data-only lines, giving you the ability to use tablets, laptops, smartwatches, etc without the need of your smartphone. Sounds insignificant, but I've replaced all of my wifi-only devices to LTE versions because of this plan. I've leave my phone in the car when I workout using my watch for music, YT videos and calls, all at no additional costs. None of these are extra lines, just extra SIMs connected to the same account. My phone rings to every device independently.
Yes I think that was a misquote, it doesn't give you RUclips TV but RUclips premium which is quite different but still a nice perk

I'm confused on the Unlimited Plus plan from Google Fi. The plan includes 50GB of high-speed on-device data, but it has unlimited hotspot data. Is the hotspot always throttled?
hotspot data draws from the 50 GB of high-speed data "bucket", afterwards its unlimited at slower speeds (3G or 2G don't really remember)

Usually a company will give hotspot with it's own stipulation
1) unlimited hotspot at 3G only
2) hotspot capped limit like 5 gigs (once it's gone, it's gone, dead stop on hotspot ability)
3) portion of hotspot from limited data bucket (your plan has 25 gigs for phone with 5 of those hotspot able) at high speed, then unlimited at 3G speed.
Smack me across the forehead if I'm wrong, AND I RISKING THAT BECAUSE I'M CONFIDENT THAT I'M NOT WRONG....
No company will offer you unlimited high speed (5G) device (phone) data AND unlimited high speed (5G) hotspot because that'd be "double dipping".
Find me a company that has that, high speed unlimited both phone & hotspot (even to 50, no, just a mere 35gigs cap) and I'll take the slap 😢
Here is how it really works
They get your card number.
Even when you cancel before the 7 day trail.they still take your money then make you wait 90 days to get your money back.

Google Fi's service is probably deprioritized on T=Mobile if T-Mo's network is busy. T-Mobile's service is not deprioritied for its customers.

Google Fi because there are truly no contracts. T-Mobile will lock you into a contract when they lease a phone to you and always want to do credits over a loan extended over time which is the same as holding you to a contract. The old model of contracts Contracts were actually better than what they do now.
No mention of how it works with the iPhone? Any feedback? Says it is in beta mode
Limited devices will work on Fi because of it's convoluted network system of T-MVNO & VPN stationary hotspot hopping.

T-Mobile needs to come down on pricing a little bit.
So you basicly only have 40GB per month on Google FI, like that after is really slowed down. Germany as an example only says: 40GB or if its really unlimited, then you will never get slowed down in a way
True but I've never used more than 10GB a month while out and about. 40GB for one person is effectively unlimited for most people.

"Up to" means CANNOT EXCEED.
The $100 chair is 40% off...but it could've UP TO 90% OFF....but it's not, it's just 40% off

So if you use Fi, you're paying twice as much.
Shit, $50/T-Mobile prepaid gets you 50 gigs high speed then priority throttle back IF CONGESTED down to 3g speed but if not congested, high speed.
, as far as i see, t mobile is much less than fi if you travel internatiuonally. with my t mobile plan magenta i get 2 lines for $90 per month and we travel a lot. with google fi you have to pay $65 per line which is $130 per month for 2 linbes to get similar pland , the other 2 plans arent really any good unless you just stay here in usa.
You say network is a wash because Fi is using T-Mobile's network, however, T-Mobile customers will have prioritized bandwidth/service on the network, so the question is how much does this affect Fi customers?
Google Fi is not subject to data traffic deprioritization, which means you won't experience slowed data speeds during times of high network usage. Additionally Google Fi users have access to multiple carrier networks to stay connected as they travel domestically and around the world.

Im trying to talk my family in to switching to google fi since the bill will go from 180 to 80 split between 4 people. Tmobile used to have great customer service but recently they basically scammed me out of money which i had not noticed for almost a year since i have autopay on. i struggled getting them to refund me the money but they would only do one months worth. perks be damned id rather pay 20bucks a month for my portion of the bill than stay with Tmobile any longer.
I Just ordered i was able to get Galaxy watch 6 for a discount only paying $14 a month

Prices will only go up. I've been with Fi for four years and for me they have been fine. Prices just went up back in April, but they are still better than T-mobile.

I have Google Fi my Cellular Network has been great I'm coming from Att I'm not going back RUclips Premium is still available for 1 year.
I have been with Google Fi since 2020, I am very happy with it.

Tmobile did NOT age well from this video. Google Fi is FAR more valuable since the filming of this. Personally I get even MORE from US Mobile but this is about Google. And if I understand correctly, Google Fi is higher on the MVO prioritization list. The 'QCI' is the same as Tmobile proper.

I just recieved my google fi sim card today but very skeptical about activating service after seeing 85% bad reviews before downloading the app in the play store. And these reviews are CURRENT as of 9/4/2023. Bad connections, drastic speed drop, can't pay your bill before the due date, pop up ads, app won't uninstall, very low bars in some areas & some cases billing issues. Basically almost everything I hate about certain phone carriers. Also this video really feels very misleading because I don't see how you could mistake youtube premium with youtube tv. Either way I could care less about free youtube premium I don't use it that much anyways. All I care about is excellent phone service for my $1,000 + phone because if the service sucks then you may as well have a crappy phone because that's what it's going to feel like Your phone is only as powerful as the service your connecting through. Going to wait about another week & look for more reviews before ultimately deciding, but after what im reading in the play store it doesn't seem like google fi is a good fit for me. t-mobile is where I shall stay👍
