    swiched to FI - no brainer. I live in a rural area and getting 5g. amazing. Also, went from $180 /month for four lines down to $80 with the same features.

    The greatest benefit to Google Fi is the data-only SIMs at no extra charge. I've added data to a hotspot, a LTE laptop, a 5G tablet and a portable gaming device at no extra charge saving me $60-80/mo. No other carrier let's you do this for free. One phone line and 4 data lines for $65/mo. Also, the data is up 50GBs a month now.

      True. I haven't paid my regular carrier cellphone bill for data in ages. I have no idea how it works, but it's a leased to own phone. Same here. 50GBs + unlimited to almost any country. I use it for youtube uploads or game streams.

      @@Karim-ik5ij Adding complexity by juggling two devices is not suitable. There's a reason that tablets and laptops have LTE versions. Even smartwatches have LTE versions. Don't assume your "rigged up" solution works for everyone.

    Hello there, Sherry. Long time no hear. It’s Daniyal. You’re a long time viewer. Google phi has been a nightmare for me. As a blind man. Customer service has been garbage. I finally was able to get my number ported over from Verizon to google phi. I’m blind, I’m all about the audio quality and, there’s no HD voice. I can answer, and the calls will be HD voice, but I can’t return calls, With HD voice. The audio quality sounds like the old days of 2012 and 2013 when we used to have regular call quality. 0:34

    I can't download the eSIM, my chromebook doesn't have a SIM option.... (edit: I didn't realise that I need to use my cell phone which I normally keep on a wireless speed charger). 😅

    • @marcushopkins2290
      @marcushopkins2290 Год назад +1

      Your chromebook has to be a LTE version. Wifi only models won't work. If it is LTE, I believe only devices that use phone service can use eSIM technology. You'll need a physical SIM, that's given out free by Google Fi.

    • @tlaskows

      @@marcushopkins2290 Oh. I use my Chromebook with wifi or hotspot to my galaxy or pixel phone which does have eSIMs. It's called an auto hotspot or something. I have the Google Fi eSim downloaded. I like it so far. I have a physical SIM but it's a generic other carrier. 5G+ Unlimited which is similar but not the same.

    • @therealzuluking
      @therealzuluking 11 месяцев назад +1

      If you use that much data, you're downloading a lot of stuff when you're not connected to wifi or you are NEVER connected to wifi. It's hard to go through the cap and even when you do, it's still fast

    • @protectorofillinois3
      @protectorofillinois3 11 месяцев назад

      @therealzuluking I'm currently with T-Mobile and I'm on the Magenta MAX plan at $90.00/month (perfect for my budget). I stream tons of movies & RUclips videos, sharing photos, & chatting with my friends & family via Google Meet. So far, I've used up 9,000 GB of unlimited data (I only use the home wifi for my laptop). I haven't encountered any problems so far, but in the event that I do, I'm always try to search for the best wireless service with unlimited everything, but with no restrictions or caps on data usage.

I'm running a number of included virtual machines on my cell phone that has all the watches and even Windows 11 for Xbox Cloud (I used to have Stadia, still have my controllers). I don't remember. Chromebooks handle VMs way better for some reason (CPU Snapdragon 7 gen 2). I can have 1000 windows open and it never slows down.

    • @ivanchelo
      @ivanchelo Год назад +3

      @@JaredVonBaren At this point I wouldn't even try it. A lot of people are having issues and this is a typical response:
      Google Fi reserves the right to delay or suspend services if they detect usage that appears to be outside their Acceptable Use Policy.
      Your service has been suspended for this reason, and your number has been blacklisted. Refrain from using your service for one month. No calling or texting at all whatsoever and no contacting customer support with a new ticket. When they detect that usage has been stopped for 31 days, they will re-enable normal services.
      Google Fi suggest you avoid sending any text messages, calling and answering phone calls from anyone for the next 31 days. After the 31 days have passed the services might be restored back to normal at Google Fi's discrepancy.
      Note: Even if you send one text message or make/receive a call or reach out to customer support that will extend the days for another 10 to 30 days without notice.
      If you are unable to wait for 31 days switch carriers.
      Please note that Google Fi has blacklisted your number due to their Acceptable Use Policy. The blacklist instated by Fi applies to T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon towers. Therefore is also recommended that you switch to a new number when you switch carriers.
