A shadow appearing on a huge star destroyer itself, for the first time revealing a ship that makes them looking tiny.
Love that scene, favourite scene in the whole franchise
there's always a bigger star destroyer
what is the big one called?
@@Nell_Hell its called "the Executor" it is the flagship of Lord Vader
@@Nell_Hell In my own canon saga after the death of Palpatine, Thrawn is the main antagonist. The story happens some decades after the destruction of the Empire. Basically a New Empire is born. Maul is back with his apprentice Talon. Rebels are much stronger now. New Republic is formed. Basically:
Thrawn and New Empire,Maul and Talon: Bad Guys
Rebels and New Republic: Good Guys
The Empire relies on strategies and wits instead of numbers under Thrawn. The Empire is Way more competent now.
Thrawn's flagship is the Eclipse which was supposed to be Palpatine's flagship after its construction. Thrawn despised large battleships but he had no choice as if was constructed just a year before he gained ultimate power.
A๒co.
Nothing will ever beat 3:25, Rouge One made is feel like the original trilogy, but with new feel.
Yeah Rouge one is awesome. I loved the space battle scenes in that movie
I love it when they were like hey rouge
And rouge was like yeah
And they said one XD XD
Rogue One is fake.
I agree, the appearance of the destroyer was flawless in its purpose
Really true
We all have to admit that the Star Destroyers will never cease to be amazing.
My heart breaks every time a star destroyer is destroyed. (Imperial) Star Destroyers are my absolute favourites.
@Denise Bond SHUT UP 😒 😑 🙄!
Yeah man. Thank you Rebel terrorists for ruining our hearts
@denisebond1319Man fuck imperials man have you seen palpatine? embodied evil. Lucas made it clear as day but some “people” still find a way to support evil
Star dreadnoughts are my favorit
14:25
I like how you really did put every single star destroyer appearance in this video
Patience
And in order of the timeline for which they appear
I like how you comment in this video
thats... the whole point
Acclamator isn't star destroyer. It is assault ship.
The biggest sin of the new trilogy to me was that we never really got proper space battles. IX had that huge build up with all those ships, and we basically have to 'theatre of the mind' everything once they arrive. The space battle of Scarrif shows they CAN still do amazing space battles, and maybe for IX it was a time constraint, but it was still a massive let-down.
And we don’t see a lot of ground combat between resistance fighters and First order troops. Only space fights for the most of the trilogy.
They just lacking in every way. Asthetics, art design, depth, coherency, plot, music, everything. I simply can't treat them as the same franchise as the old movies.
I agree X kinda had it but it wasn’t much of a fight more of a oh look 10 billion ships charging and next oops there gone
I mean we get multiple battles but if you mean specifically battles in space then… sure, I guess. Honestly I prefer battles that aren’t in space but the atmosphere of a planet, considering space is a pretty boring setting.
The battle of Takodana, Star-Killer Base, D’Qar, Crait and Exegol are all incredible battles IMO.
would have been so epic if it was over coruscant
3:25 Imagine just going out for a spacewalk and out of nowhere you see a star destroyer appear out of pitch darkness
@denisebond1319 Your autocorrect is part of the Rebel Alliance and a traitor!! Take it away!!
One of the most terrifying sights when we are a rebel fighter pilot
Me when I build a weapon of mass destruction out of magnetic tile:
0:23 I know these are Republic ships but this fits so well. So does 0:37
7:40 When my dad first saw this film in the cinema, his exact words there were "holy shit that's a big one." And he's not wrong XD
Little did he know there would be much bigger. -cough- supremacy- -cough-
Good words from your dad ;-) ..even the standard SDer, which is under that big SSDer (7:36), looks like some small corvette or frigate.. :-)
They're technically Star Destroyers, same ship class and the Republic was the precursor to the Empire
Yes, that was a big one
Imperial March plays 0:23 here because it’s foreshadowing what the Republic becomes, the Empire.
I like how from 7:16 to 9:10 in almost every scene the Imperial march is playing
such a good indication at who the bad guys were imo
Opening of a new hope flooered me when i saw it for the first time as a kid. Still makes me a lil giddy now. What a classic shot
4:05 to 4:14 made me realize how massive star destroyers were, Imagine the sounds of the engines beginning to start as it begins to move away, They were like a mile long, They were sheer size of massive amounts of destruction, And it beginning to move upwards looked really cool.
Realizing that, now think that the Executor Class is 19 km long!
Hey all,
Space is a vacuum. You wouldn't hear a thing!
However, yes, those 19km long Star Destroyers in a planet's atmosphere would sound apocalyptic. The sound would be horrendously loud.
The only other think I can think off my lower intestine exploding after cereal and yoghurt for breakfast!
It would be akin ( wird akin clone to Anakin) into a Star Destroyer white toilet bowel. It would sound like The Executor crashing into the Earth.
@@FrostedSeagull you right!
I always wondered myself what Star Destroyers are exactly? They are some kind of big, versatile ships, I believe? Which both serve as troops carriers, moving artillery, command platforms and space warships
@@darassylmoniakam
Capital ships, but they’re not analogous with any real-world naval vessel as they’re supposed to fill multiple mutually contradictory roles (battleship, aircraft carrier and landing/assault ship).
Why they didn’t just built dedicated carriers and dedicated assault ships (and skip the heavy batteries) is beyond me.
6:43 is a classic shot with a glorious score
What’s the song
3:25 is just about the most beautiful scenes in star wars history
for me it is 3:46 it is the most beautiful shoot of all star wars
@@No_69187 I can see why
The Phalanx in BattleFleetGothic have similar scene
They pay homage to the opening title form the movie "Super dimension fortress Macross: Do you remember love?" from 1984.
@@SilverwimG holy shit your right
Acclamator
Venator
Imperial I
Imperial II
Executor
Tector
Resurgent
Mandator IV
Mega
Xyston
You forgot the Arquitiens (moff gideon's cruiser)
Nice you knew it was a tector
The Tector was basically just a Imperial I with more armor and no hanger bay
@@erikjan15585 Not to mention the smaller, strange looking, but popular Gladiator Class Star Destroyer (This Ship: ruclips.net/video/u0OCqgRi7yc/видео.html ).
@@erikjan15585 A: that’s not an arquitens
B:it’s not a star destroyer
So good! I love Star Destroyers so much!
Yep. Best ships in sw imo
Too bad the director don’t know how o showcase it properly for the f ing sequel movies
@@benbo4394 directors* didn't even have the same director for the 3 movies. Fking morons should've just let Lucas do it
@@benbo4394 But they were still cool looking. I just mean the ships themselves.
Who doesn't?
My favorite one will always be the executor crashing into the Death Star, it shows how the Death Star is so massive that it’s able to generate its own gravity
11:06-11:07, 11:08-11:09, 11:10-11:11, 11:12-11:13 And 11:14-11:15 Here Is Part Clip Of The Star Wars Return Of The Jedi When The Star Destroyer Was Destroyed By The One Of The Rebel Ships.
2:28 that overhead shot how truly massive juggernauts are. Also i never knew BARCs could fly that high
Been building a giant home-made model of a star destroyer for a few years now. But there's so much detail in this video that I've missed, thanks for giving me extra work Goat
Incredible collection of scenes showing a huge range of star destroyers from the franchise, but to me the best scene was and always will be the very first scene of A new Hope. Nothing could have had prepared all of us who went that night to see the premiere of Star Wars back in 1977. We have never seen anything like it before. The ship looked ABSOLUTELY HUGE and the music and sound effects made it difficult to comprehend. Maybe (at least to me) that's why I had to see the movie about 5 times to just understand not only that simple history but the special effects at that time to made it A CLASSIC!
My dad took me in 1977. I was 5. He told me I didn't move for the entire movie, he wasn't even sure I was blinking. I still remember some of the sheer awe from that, 45 years later.
One under-appreciated detail of TLJ is the hum the Fulminatrix and Supremacy make when exiting hyperspace. It's very ominous and intimidating.
3:25 the way it slowly appears is just what makes that movie awesome
The battle over Endor will always be my favorite. it’s just not only pretty easy to follow along with what’s going on but it also just looks good. and one thing i really like about this movie is that it genuinely makes it seem like the heroes might lose
I've got a good feeling about this
Например? :/
You forgot the acclamator when they look at the sky on the geonosis arena, literally the first one ever
They’re not star destroyers neither is the mandator IV
@@omarbaba9892 the mandator IV is a dreadnaucht, wich is Just a very big Star destroyer.
@@omarbaba9892 and the executor and the Supremacy are even bigger, why are they Star destroyers Then?
@@omarbaba9892 Yes, but @crimson is right, because Acclamators are in this video, and are in the Star Destroyer family. More so than Moff Gideon's ship
@@omarbaba9892 they are star destroyers
3:25 is my favourite of all these scenes. It's incredible how it manages to convey the awesome scale and intimidating presence of the star destroyer, one of the most feared and deadly machines in the galaxy, and at the same time show that it's size and power is insignificant to the new imperial weapon, the mighty Death Star. Brilliant shots.
9:56 There's a look to the physical models in the original trilogy that CGI isn't able to replicate.
That’s why moff gideons cruiser and the razor crest look so good they’re physical models
Well, Rogue used physical models for the ISD-1s I am pretty sure
shhhh! Many are not ready for this level of information!!!
TK-??? I think those were cgi because they basically reused the models for ep IX
@@tk-6967 nope. They scanned the ANH star destroyer prop and made a CGI model with the scans
7:15 is definitely one of the best scenes with the Executor
I L O V E Star Destroyers. Coolest ships in movies history!
23:45 I just love how the Xyston Star destroyer is now at rest with its ancestor.
Edit: It's a Resurgence class but what I said still applies, its still a nice shot!
Are you blind they’re not xystons?
It’s the First Order Resurgence Class. Not Xyston Class.
Why is everyone bullying him 😭😂
Jakku: “A fine addition to my collection.”
That’s clearly a Resurgence class you smooth-brained retard.
8:34 hardest shot in the whole franchise
still refuse to belive they took down hundrets of destroyers in ep 9 just like that
I find it an absolute travesty that the Resurgent-class star destroyer wasn't used more in the Sequel trilogy. Imagine if they went up against the New Republic ships, like the Nebula-class star destroyer if it were made canon.
My favourites are:
Attack of the Clones-0:01
Revenge of the Sith-0:48
The Force Awakens-13:10
The last Jedi-14:23
Rogue One-3:24
A New Hope-6:57
The Empire Strikes Back-6:56
3:25 love that scene
People say star destroyers are just Doritos, but they are my absolute favorite, especially the Resurgent class of the First Order. In a way it reminds me of the triple deck Akagi of the Imperial Japanese navy. Shame we didn’t get to see more of its action
Rogue one is definitely the best of the Disney movies The music the star fighter battles and the gritty elements throughout the film
I love how in the original trilogy the entire front of the star destroyer just vanished when looking out the windows
That's the really best video content on the RUclips bro 💪🏼❤️
2:51 The music here is beautiful
My favorite part was the scene with the star destroyer
Timestamp?? I cant find that part😢
I hated that scene
3:24 has the best star destroyer entrance
7:59 I love the music playing when this one appears
The shroud of the dark side has fallen. Begun, the clone war has.
I would like everyone to pay respects to the Hammerhead Corvette from Rouge one, which died valiantly pushing that star destroyer into the station.
Absolutely not the empire and the first order did nothing wrong, if anything my respects go to the brave crews of the 2 imperial star destroyers
@@ljones121 legit. Everyone is just fine, until a group of rebellious individuals of questionable intentions just decided to screw up galactic prosperity and economy 💀
Don't you mean a group of raucous drug addicts (for reference: Auralnauts)?
it seems to me it didn't get shoot down
8:29 is the most iconic scene for the SSD for me
0:34 Battalions of Stormies, square formation 24x24 =576 clones to a battalion. Takes a lot of gear to fully equip all those soldiers. Over 8,000 visible in the screen shot alone..
In light of recent events in the Black Sea, this is a fitting montage. Nice work.
I like how fast ISDs are in ANH. Makes them even more menacing.
I love it how it goes from brand new amazing cgi (Rogue one) to this 1977 move (a new hope(good for the time))
0:48 First actual Star Destroyer of the video...
who cares, space dorito = star destroyer
@@SmokeyBCN Not really. That would be like "if it floats and has a gun it's a battleship".
@@SmokeyBCN so a jedi delta class fighter is a star destroyer ?
The ships are Venerator-Class Star Destroyers, they belong in this video (yes, TWO YEARS LATER someone finally said it) (AND Yes this is the name of the class, as seen all the way back in the original 2003 Star Wars Episode II vehicle book. they've always been Star Destroyers lmao.
And to answer your other message of "That would be like "if it floats and has a gun it's a battleship"." No, this is more akin to comparing USS North Carolina to an Iowa-class. they're both battleships but one is the successor from half a decade later. (since at the time of A New Hope, the Venerators are almost 17 years old, and in war that is an insane technological gap to have)
@@sydney4814 Yes, the Venator is Star Destroyer but the Acclamators are not.
As much as I wasn’t a fan of the sequels, I really liked the first order ship designs. Especially the dreadnought
5:40 the fact that a ship that small can cause so much damage is honestly crazy
It can't...
@@lowe_sa2976 it did
There is no way. That ship cannont push a Star Destroyer like that, let alone through another Star Destroyer. That scene was terrible. Another reason for me to Not watch any of the new movies.
Its Just Logic.
@@KSI_Revelations They're in space. There's nothing stopping the corvette from pushing the Star Destroyer.
If I could take a single ship from any sci-fi franchise, I would take the Super Star Destroyer for my flag ship, but modify it so that the bridge was less exposed and to also have actual point defense systems, especially over the engines, seeing as how exposed they generally are.
And more importantly ,the shield generator.
Well part the engine that visually exposed are actually the exhaust, not really the engine itself.
That's why the first order star destroyers are superior. They covered all of those flaws.
@@T800-k6p …it’s an improvement at best.
But I don’t consider the first order canon, especially with how “Saturday morning cartoon” they were treated as.
They had the potential to be a real bad guy faction, but Disney dropped the ball on that one.
I would probably be in favor of smaller vessels than the SSD. Far too pricey and intensive on resources to be practical.
I would definitely go for more ships that are purposely designed to take on and destroy the Rebellion's main strength: its starfighter corp. Take care of that issue and suddenly they're far easier to deal with in space.
Well Sir, I believe the Bellator Star Dreadnought would be the starship of your choice then.
Now every time I look in the sky, all I can think about is giant metal Doritos
At 6:06 my son and I both were like damn!!! Now that’s heartbreaking!!
I don't know why, but I love this shot 23:20 - 23:32
Beautiful shot in a disappointing movie
Min?
A show of hands here, how many of us re-watched these movies just for the ships?!
I’m looking forward this
Classic Star Destroyer forever❤
At the end of attack of the clones we see the entire clone army mobilizing on coruscant.
Does that mean all the clones were bred and trained on kamino and then all of them were loaded onto starships and dropped off on coruscant just so they can board the ships and leave again?
The shios wrte builz on coruscant
Wait a damn minute-
The ships were built on coruscant
no they went to geonosis and after the battle went to couriscant
It was definitely to show the whole Republic "We have an army ready, a navy ready to defend our worlds. We are prepared, do not worry. We can win this conflict, and bring back peace to the galaxy" and things along that line
So this is the future of man in space? Macabre. Is it that evil becomes a possibility only with the presence of man? A grand chessboard indeed. The wars between good and evil. As Voltaire proclaims, "History never repeats itself. Man always does."
30 years ago and still amazing?!
19:49 coldest shot in the sequel trilogy. Like you really shouldn’t be here right now.
Am I the only one who thinks that "Star Destroyer" is a really badass name
SUPER 👍
My favorite shot of the entire battle over Coruscant in Ep 3 was the broadside volley against the Federation ship.
Guarlara vs Invisible Hand
It was one of my favorite parts in ROTS

Why does the venator class look like jar jar binks?
Because jar jar was the real undercover sith lord, palpatine was his secret apprentice, and count dooku was jar jars super secret apprentice, in short, ALL HAIL JAR JAR BINKS
@@cindykerr-friberg5284 HAIL JAR JAR BINKS
Thing I really liked about Rogue One is finally got a proper scale for the Death Star
The ships in attack of the clones are not venators but actually acclamator assault ships which was used for primarily troop transport, venators wouldn’t be put into their navy until a little bit after AOTC
I love pepperoni pizza 🍕 😋 😍.
Ich brauche gar keine Skywalker Saga. Ich könnte mir das hier 3 lang anschauen😁
Nice.
Her: I bet he is thinking about other girls

Don’t care what people say I love the last Jedi

The movie would have been over in five minutes. The First order fleet could have base delta zeroed (orbital bombardment) the resistance base without the dreadnaught.
Star destroyer MKI had that ability, and they were supposedly inferior to the first order warships.
The writers didn't have a clue of how star wars technology worked.
@@reidveryan9414 well that kind of falls apart since most Star Wars battles could’ve ended with an orbital bombardment especially in the prequels and clone wars
horrendously coal opinion
7:20 Nothing better than a good old fashioned big ass ship reveal.
You missed one people often miss in Rogue One. As Krennic's shuttle is launching, there is one docked in the DS.

Great compilation, compliments. I never understood how the super star Destroyer the Executor, with its huge size could have been so easily destroyed by fighters at 11:05. Do you know why ?
I understand they destroyed the bridge, but surely like capital ships there must be some secondary and tertiary bridges.
It got pulled by the gravity well of the Death Star and the crew didn't have time to restore its controls
@@nikersramnikers7081 yes, you have a very good explanation. I have not thought about the effect of gravity. Still, they could have an advanced AI which could swiftly and temporarily control the navigation system in case of such predicament, especially on such a large spaceship of several km long!
The proximity of The Executor to the death star is DANGEROUSLY close. Also, if you have a good eye, The Executor got some engine damage from swarms of star fighters. It didn't have enough time to move to a secondary bridge or have the ship advanced AI to respond quickly, so that mf slammed into the DS real quick
@@Eric_Malbos It was also under fire by multiple Mon Cal cruisers and many starfighters, during the same period. If anything, likely THAT brought the shields down over the bridge (and exposed the 'domes', be they shield projectors or radar array like objects)

With all that technology, the fleets were fighting like in the 16th Century.
My favorites, by far the Destroyer in Solo with the circling cloud 3:11, just sooo menacing. Rogue One 3:25 and 5:10, 7:20 simply because of the iconic music and TLJ in the beginning (14:27).
19:29 wow this is a surprisingly good transition
Missed one!!
At right about 13:10, the opening sequence of The Force Awakens is missing, where a First Order Resurgence-Class Star Destroyer is shown, directly after the opening crawl, launching a couple of landing transports to the surface of Jakku below.
The very same Star Destroyer appears at 13:11, being approached by Kylo Ren's shuttle, (with Poe on board as his captive,) amongst the very same troop transports in formation following closely behind.
But, the scene showing those troop transports launching to the surface from the Finalizer to begin with, shown on-screen immediately following the movie's opening crawl segment, is conspicuously omitted. (Presumably by accident, I'm sure.)
(I'm just sayin' 🤜💥🤛)

18:09 - I think what this is the coolest cutscene!
Just think Palpatine manipulated all this death and destruction ,for personal gain, and with zero regard for life. He is the #1 movie villain of all time.
i like how you put the movies in the way they were in in history of star wars (in order) insted of the way they were made
but one thing that i cought on is why didnt you put any of the CLONE WARS star destroyers in it lol jk its fine that would be like and 39- 1hr vid lol but nice work i love it
4:40 I just love how in Battle of Scarif those two Imperial-1s move to their position and the camera tries to focus on them like "Boss fight incoming" .... they really tried to make Empire look intimidating at least in this one....
The difference in cgi between 2005 and 2015 blows me away.
One of the few things I liked from the sequels was the resurgent class star destroyer not only is it bad ass looking but it felt like a real in universe evolution of the isd 1 and 2 from the O.T and then came the shitty xyston class which was literally just a copy and paste model of the isd 1 they used in rogue one...
It’s funny how they appear in the opening scene of every movie from 3-8
I am sorry to annonce you that Moff Gideon's Arquitens-class command cruiser, also known as Imperial light cruiser.. Is not a Star Destroyer.
Nor the Acclimator class cruisers.
got to love how at the battle of scarrif those two ISDs barely use any of their firepower. then the Devestators shows up and bodies THE ENTIRE rebel fleet in 5 seconds.
