I have a question though...
How does the glycosidic bond forms between the NAM-NAG monomers in the periplasm/outer cellular membrane ? you haven't explained it, only said it forms. Does it have any connection with the UDP? or phosphate group ?

Grampositive bacteria do have periplasm! Is there where important metabolic processes take place.
