This man never ceases to amaze me. I saw him in concert back in 2010 or so (Gruesome Twosome tour with Rob Zombie), and he is still such a showman! I must thank the Muppets for introducing me to Alice Cooper and forming the foundation for my love of rock!

My brush with greatness was back in the mid-90's when I worked at the front desk of a major hotel in our downtown area. I saw Alice Cooper (not in make-up, of course) and he was talking to the members of his band. He then split from the discussions and came up to me, asking if I could book a limo for him and his band. I said "of course" and asked him what name the reservation should be under. I saw him look disappointed as he told me his name. I said "I'm sorry Mr. Cooper, I know who you are. I just didn't know if you wanted the reservation to be under your name or an assumed name." He looked so happy. He said "Oh no. Under my name is fine." And he thanked me. That's it. My 12 seconds of fame. Ha ha. This was fantastic. I laughed when the dancing girls came out.

I don't recall the name of the actor who did Herod in the L.A. production back in 1972, which I saw, but he was fantastic. Cooper does a magnificent characterization here, I only wish that he had been choreographed, maybe a bit of dancing interplay with the ladies. It was just too static, and I found that to be true of this whole production. Some of the singing was great, but the stage direction was so stiff. I saw Ted Neely in his prime, more than once. Those productions were energetic, emotional and a joy to watch. This one, had you just listened and not watched the screen would have come across no differently. Could have been so much more.

Alice Cooper just absolutely steals the show of ANYTHING he is in. I've seen him live in concert like 8 or 9 times. And every show is better than the last not to mention he has the best concerts of anyone I've seen and I've seen a ton of other bands live. Rob Zombie and In This Moment come in close, but no one can beat Alice! God of shock rock! 🖤🕷️🎩
