      BTW, it's so good that I'm seriously considering buying one. It is the best super naked out there, period. But one problem with that is that I don't do track days any more and so it's hard for me to justify getting one and only using it for the street. But I said to my wife that it's so easy to ride that she can even ride it. She smiled and knew exactly what I was trying to do...sigh...she "ain't no dummy".

My first BMW ever, my first naked bike and my first 1000ccm too… I riding 5 years on super sport Yamaha R6… I am so happy and proud to not change my mind and order that beauty ❤ Like i said, i cant wait on summer (still 0km).

    So based on some of the bikes you have been able to ride I have a question or two. Great vids btw!! So I currently have a 2022 Super Duke Evo and it is as good as I could ever want. I also own a few Ducati's, Hyper 950SP, Desert X and Pikes Peak. I have been looking for a fully faired bike but I have no interest in a Panigale or the M1000. I already have the naked bike thing handled and BTW, I agree with you on the SFV4....great bike but useless on the street, BMW may be a little better but I will stick with my SD. That being said, my Hyper and DX I love, and that is one of the best engines I have ridden so I am looking at the Super Sport 950S. In all honesty, how would you compare that Super Sport to these two for a street machine? The Hyper is the most fun of any bike on the street but I want something more stable at high speeds.

    Owned my MR competition for 2 months now having traded in my SR there is no comparison between the Two even they share the same platform. The M is a very special bike and like you every moment I spend on it I’m amazed.
    In my opinion al the other manufacturers have got a lot to do to even get close to this BMW.

    Nice Review, as always. I own the ducati but i got one eye on the M. Do you know how far the tank is good for? The Ducati is flashing after 150km the lights for gas. Thx and keep going. Die Linke zum Gruß & pls excuse the not so perfect english 😊

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  Год назад +1

      Well, the BMW is supposed to go 40km further than the Ducati. Same take size but the BMW is 6.4 L/100 and the Ducati is 7.6 L/100. So on average you should go further on a tank before the reserve light goes on.
      take care,

  • @JMeyer-qj1pv
    @JMeyer-qj1pv Год назад +2

    This bike looks interesting as a sporty street bike. As a tall rider I have a big Adventure bike for the comfortable ergonomics. Is the M 1000 R a comfortable bike for a tall rider on the street, or is it mostly designed for the track? It's impossible to get a test ride on a bike like this where I live, so it's hard to know if I would like it without buying one.

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  Год назад

      Well, it's all relative, I personally know guys that are a lot taller 190cm+ (6'2"+) than me and ride the S1000R all day long and on weekend trips and they don't complain at all. I'm 178cm (5'10") and I don't have a problem with it but I can understand that if I was taller it would bother me after a while. The M riding position is a little more forward than the normal S, so you might want to sit on an M if you can. Especially if a dealer has both bikes sitting there, then you can get a direct comparison.
      good luck,
      Scott

    You know In all honesty, I think the SFV4SP would have been the like for like comparison but I am sure they are like finding Bigfoot. I wish I could get excited about any BMW....just no soul. Ducati and KTM have it in spades.....the M is very cool but I have bought and sold too many BMW's in hopes that the soul would be massaged in....so far....nope! Both the Duc and the M are amazing but equate to nonsense on the street based on my experience. Yes the BMW is more tame but if I bought either it would be track only. I wish people bought on quality, refinement and synergy vs just horse power. A Hyper Motard 950SP for pure fun, I do not think can be matched at only 110hp, which is also why I asked you about the Super Sport.....great vids!

  • @AMPJ08

    Hi brother, I don’t know how the pricing in your country is but in India the standard street fighter v4 standard model cost 24,65,000 INR(1 gbp= 101 INR approx) and the m1000r cost 33,00,000 INR. Which one should I go for. I only do city rides and weekend rides. I am thinking of upgrading from my street triple rs. What will you suggest me to go for. ?

    I saw that when you're up shifting you throttle back a little. Why is that? It has quickshift already. Im just wondering. 😮😮

    • @NothingToProve
      @NothingToProve  Год назад

      No, I don't do that all the time, in fact rarely, I guess I was just trying to feel the distance between the gears. Usually, I can do clutch less up shifts smoother than a QS does it, and on bikes with no QS, I almost always do it. I know it sounds arrogant/cocky but on some bikes I can do it better, this one, no, the QS is sooooo good. On cassette style transmissions it's fairly easy for me to do since I've been doing track days on sport bikes before QS were available. Well, motoGP guys were doing clutch less shifting before QS existed and that is actually from where I learned it back in the 90's.
      take care,
      Scott

    Funny enough. I rode these back to back as I'm looking to replace my Streetfighter v2. And what's funny is how opinions differ. The M1000r was less comfortable, and just plain felt, boring. I told.ypu really get into the revs. Maybe that's what you mean by easy to.ride but I just found it absolutely unexciting 95% of the time. The v4 engine felt.far more exciting and engaging to ride everywhere. Just more aggressive And found that more fun. But at the end of the day, I think I'm keeping my V2

What bmw has that Ducati doesn’t is they are way more advanced when it comes to technology.
