  • We take our Lance 825 truck camper to Granby, Colorado for a seven day experiment to see what it was like to live and work out of the Lance. We not only spend an entire week camping in the most luxurious RV campground we've been to, but we go on daily adventures to explore dirt roads over mountain passes, hike to a waterfall in a national park, and try to find a secret natural hot spring.

    Yes, you can live full-time in a Lance truck camper.
    I have a 2018 850 Lance truck camper that I live full-time since I purchased it new. I went with no slide-out to save weight and additional maintenance issues. I also have a cargo trailer to haul my toys and extras. I do not own a house and have no interest in buying one. I love the freedom of travel.
    I joke that if I don't like my neighbors, I can get new ones within minutes.
    If I don't like the weather, then simply drive until I do.

    I live in grand lake but work in Granby. The Colorado river actually starts here it’s from all the snow that melts. If you went down the river you would go through the grand canyon and out through the Gulf of Mexico.

    I have a 2020 F250 and currently tow a travel trailer but looking at the 650 and 825 like you have. I’m full time living and traveling the Us and Mexico so I’m thinking about getting a cargo trailer to go behind my truck. Baja in the winter is awesome

      How cool! That sounds like the dream!! We were between the same two truck campers, but went with the 825 for the bigger bathroom. You really can’t go wrong with either though. Good luck and safe travels!

    Little did you guys know they had 2 entrances to that hot springs one you park on the road 😂. Little further hike. Great camping spots in that valley we go out like 4 times a summer just to camp out there.

    Have you considered unloading the Lance at the campsite? We did it often to free up the truck for exploring. Just a thought...

    • @dmac5497
      @dmac5497 Год назад +3

      That's what we do with our Artic Fox 1150, look for a set of RV snap pads for the jack bases and take a look at the Stablecamper system, we did both and our camper is solid with very little movement when off the truck 👍

    • @thewaywedidit
      @thewaywedidit  Год назад +1

      We’ve thought about it, but we really love having access to our kitchen, bathroom and work stuff while we are out exploring. We can also be a little impulsive so if we change plans mid-day we already have everything with us and don’t need to return to the campground.

    Great video but I think it's really sad you wouldn't let him drive down that really simple not complicated road. The whole point of getting out is not feel limited like that in your truck is more than capable. Let the man live a little. Don't be controlling as it does not make for much of a good video honestly. Just saying what others might be thinking. You guys are great.

    Could you turn down the music? It's louder than your voice so if the volume is turned up to hear what you're saying, the music in between is WAY too loud...it needs to be LOWER than your voice so the volume can be set to hear you clearly, then when the music comes on it's more like background (softer) music. Otherwise, it's a constant turning down the volume (music), then up (voice), then down (music) throughout your entire video (annoying). Can't you also hear that difference when you listen/review the video before posting it?
    Thanks,
    -- BR

      I don't have any issue with the music being too loud. Maybe it's your TV or your hearing 🤔

      @@thewaywedidit Well, I noticed it some time back in earlier videos, but was hoping by now it would have been fixed, especially IF you heard it also. If you're NOT hearing any difference, then you probably can't fix it. But I sure can, as if the music is maybe 2X the volume of your voice. I hope you CAN fix it, as you don't want anything like this discouraging people from watching your videos...especially from beginning to end.
      Maybe the video editing program you use has some sort of "normalize" function for audio, to make everything the same volume level? I don't make/edit RUclips videos so I don't know what programs are used to produce them, but I have worked with music files (MP3s) making music collections to put on USB drives for my car (long road trips) and the software had a "normalize" feature I used so all the songs would have the same volume level. I got the songs from various sources so some had a low volume while others had a higher volume -- that needed fixing. Otherwise, if the collection was NOT normalized, I'd have to mess with the radio's volume control (turn some songs up and others down) WAY too often.
      Thanks for your attention,
